Here after watching a clip of MJ beating Mike Finley in a game of horse and 1 one 1 to 3 points whrn Finley was in High School
Me too 😂. I guess Finley got his revenge after all...
Same
Same
Guess who been drinking milk! 🤣
Me too bro lol
Michael Finley was a very underrated shooting guard
Byron Benguche' facts
No Dirk or Nash yet so I guess he was their franchise player.
Small foward*
Maywood’s finest
True, but too sad that is career ended shortly. I mean his best years.
8:32 is exactly why Jordan is the greatest player of all time. This is a regular season game at the start of the season. He goes after the best player on the opposing team without worrying if he gets humiliated. He has 5 championships up until this point! And still doesn’t feel “too cool” to guard someone at maximum effort. Totally different mentality than guys today.
and he was 36 yrs old...
That's simple ,the goat.
Ill drop 30 on you from anywhere on the court
If that was LeBron there would be memes on how he failed to miss the steal. They would show him on the floor and make all kinds of memes. It was a bad play just admit it wasn't a good decision
@@kylemonsterdrywallfistbump5948 LeBron would be on the floor to this day acting he got hurt. Did you see how fast MJ jumped back on feet to carry on with the defense?
Finely's moves were poetry, so orthodox. Classy player like Eddie Jones, Mitch Richmond, Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill...all of them eclipsed by MJ.
I thought Finley was at his peak here
Yes remarkably.
I was a big fan of Finley when he was at Wisconsin. I always thought he had a little bit of Mj' s style of game.
Mike Finley , one of the best players to wear Mavericks jersey and a very underrated SG!
#MFFL
Man, I miss basketball in the 90s!!
The body, conditioning Jordan had at 35 has been unmatched. Not too bulk, wide, still agile, not huff-in and puffin, quick jump throw down. Can glide and oh yeah the silkiest wet jumper, the likes which is unparalleled.
And they talk about LeBron at 35 we seen somebody else at 35 do unreal things and win
@@gleanmcclain6251
2020 Playoffs:
*Anthony Davis=27- 10- 3, FG-57%.*
35-years-old Michael Jordan didn"t have that luxury.
1998 Playoffs:
*Scotte Pippen=17- 7- 5, FG-42%.*
@@allanhouston6759 Scottie pippen is the best defender of all time lmao he could score 2 pts and still be one of the best players you could possibly have on your team lebron didn’t have that luxury
@@2-EASY Fake news.
@@allanhouston6759 they didnt need that extra 2 points.
Finley and Eddie Jones was my two favorite players back in the day and I'm a Lakers fan man I miss the nba right now we need basketball back😟😥😫😫😫😫😟😟
Steven Allen people forget about Eddie Jones he used to be that dude
Look how hard Jordan worked defensively though. Still hungry, after all of this rings. Great game for Finley. Lucky shot for Ceballos.
Mavs win looks like the last game of the finals because they just win a single game to the best team and best player of alltime
After Mike and before Wade, Finley filled the void for me at SG. Gotta be a top 30 SG of all time. Obviously they eventually had to give the keys to Dirk/Nash, but Finley was the man in Dallas for a while.
oh hell yeah....finley was a great player....glad he won his chip with the spurs...
After Mike and before Wade what void? Are you forgetting Kobe? Lol
@@handheldnintendofan That's why I said for ME.
handheldnintendofan 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Finley killed it with the SUNS!
Man Finley has the perfect jumpshot form
Finley was in the wrong era. He would dominate in today's game.
greg rose every star from that era will be dominant in today’s game.
@Mike Hawk I agree but If you really know about that era you will know what we are trying to express is a kind of emotion rather than a fact.
Jordan would average 45ppg today about 25ppg on the free throw line.
@@yunggpacino trust me if he was back to 90s he can't survive half season lol.
@@yunggpacino I don't think James Harden would be at the free throw line as much if he played during Jordan's era.
Those MJ fadeaway jumpers are just ridiculously good!
man 'o man jordan's defense was crazy gotta respect the hustle
Finley is one of my favorite Mavs besides Dirk.
Angeles Floyd he was a work horse too
Anyone on mj's era could dominate in today's era.
THIS IS REAL BASKETBALL
@Mike Hawk exactly 😂
@Mike Hawk AND NOOOO DEFENSE!
@Mike Hawk NBA was much more aggressive in the 80s-90s i was there, mummy was changing your Pampers then 😁😁😁
@Mike Hawk Hmmm no becuase only kids that weren't around in that time talk shit and think your "era" is as good or better is disingenuous. Google what the GOAT says about today's ball compared to the aggressive 80s-90s. Any players from that time. Sorry kid, all you have is clips on video but you trolls talking shit have no idea how much more aggressive the NBA was nack then to today. Today you fart and get a tech, now go watch a Justin Beeber concert or Lady Gaga 😚
I remember watching this live as a kid and I hard time falling asleep that night. This was pre RUclips and DVR, so I could never rewatch the highlights. I went to a friends house whose dad has season tickets that year, and as a thank you gift for being a season ticket holder, the Mavs gave a copy of that game on VHS. I almost stole it but I didn’t, and I’ve regretted that I didn’t take that copy of the game everyday since...until now. Thank you, RUclips.
At 3:16 Michael Jordan straight hit Finley with the ball after the foul! Straight savage!!!
Good on pointing that out! I had to watch it like 5 times just to confirm it! Lol..maybe because I'm high off weed too though.
FinDOG, I remember my dad watching michael finley in the late 90's i been a mavs fan ever since.
I watched the Finley Jordan one and one to three. I can honestly say Jordan likes Finley and saw him grow up and this was a game from a Chicago kid who watched a legend as he grew up to be a NBA player himself. Nothing but respect and truly honor there.
Finley can ball Jordan showed why he GOAT though
what a game. this is basketball at its prime. Jordan was amazing. Finely was great too!
WHAT a game. The intensity and competition from both teams. These are the games where you really don't care who ends up winning, it was so good. I haven't seen anything like this in the past 12 years from the NBA. They need to make MJ (or Joe Dumars or Isiah Thomas) commissioner or the guy who devises the rules, cause these damns lax players of today are getting too much of a free ride. Heck, I ain't a fan, but even Kobe should be commissioner. I'm sick and tired of watching scrimmage games pretending to be regular season, playoff and finals games.
meg FACTS
Hell no, to all 3
Michael Finley in my opinion had the prettiest jumpshot I've ever seen
Fun fact: Season record for Bulls ended up 62-20, for Mavs 20-62.
Finley was criminally underrated he should have left the Mavs way sooner but im glad he finally got his ring when he did leave
MJ diving for the BALL! This man doesn't want to loose. Haha
*lose* No, he didn’t.
The GOAT
Michael Finley went OFF in this game! What a game!
This generation had so much class and style.
Every game the opposition to the bulls played , had to play the game of their lives . There was no gimme for the bulls . It was relentless. People trying to knock the bulls . But never did . God I miss MJ and pipped , rodman , Steve Kerr . What a team
So the Bulls actually can be beaten! 😂 That was a great highlight reel
I remember watching this game here in SA as a Spurs fan. Then the Bulls the next night took this loss out on my Spurs! Duncan's rookie year. We were witnessing the quiet & unsung superstar of that era in Michael Finley. Bulls went on to win their 6th and last Championship anyway
Jordan's fadeaway was like Jabbar's skyhook... Unstoppable!
I'm willing to bet they cover this game in that multi-part series "The Last Dance" that debuts in June 2020 about the Bulls 97-98 season.
had to watch this after youtube recommeded me to watch a video of Michael jordan playing 1 on 1 against MIchael Finley , awesome!
Don Nelson’s facial expression = true happiness 😂😂😂
I’d watch this 10 times over before I watch modern NBA where every shot is a THREE POINTER
Finley was an underrated badass.
For some reason, that "Texas Triangle" road trip the Bulls would take in the middle of the season gave them headaches for much of MJ's career. Didn't stop those shiny trophies from showing up in June though. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Lol! It gave/still gives a lot of teams headaches! The real bugaboo for Chicago on that trip was Houston! Houston was one of the few teams MJ had a losing regular season record against.
Jamal Abdelbaset Spurs as well early 90s lead 6-2 from 1989/90-1993 season!
Yeah it definitely was,the Texas triangle was scheduled because thats when the circus came here in Chi at the United Center💯
Had a chance to watch Finley play in high school. He was a beast then....
8:15 Listen to that crowd for Jordan.
Jordan's Bulls were so great, that beating them any time of the year, was like a championship victory. They should have made rings just for that occasion. 💍🤣
and Finley wore Team Jumpman shoes. the irony.
Adrian Ashby the funny thing is he eventually joined Jordan Brand i wonder if he was already on it here but im sure doing what he did here lowkey earned Jordan’s respect ahhaha
I remember watching this game thinking this the last time JORDAN Playing at Reunion Arena and we WON..
Man these games we're sure exciting they reminded me of high school game with arch rivals playing each other as far as the intensity and the tempo of the game.
I saw groupie-HOOCHIES @ 9:31 straight up HOUNDING!! lol
Goat
This was probably the most satisfying win for the Mavericks that year. Let's go Mavs
I remember this game lol. I was 10yrs old
If Cedric cebalos wore a blind fold , like his dunk contest, he'd never miss a shot
Lol! I remember
I loved watching the Bulls games years ago when Wayne Larrivee and Johnny Red Kerr would commentate.
I remember watching this game in Dallas at home with Bob Ortegal and Jim Durham calling the Mavs TV broadcast....I was jumping up and down in my room.. to the point that my mom ran into my room asking what happened... we were the worst franchise in all of sports in the 90s. And these victories were few far between. I remember us being back at my mom's house in 2011 when my mavs won the title... jumping up and down again. True MFFL!! We mavs have come a long way. #lukalegendtime
The defender didn't know where MJ was 3:33
Finley had a great night.. Jordan was Jordan as usual tho🤷
Dude, the Michaels were on fire that day. I know everyone's mom was watching this.
I remember this game . All of my homies went to sleep. We were on a conference call together. They woke up the next day and was shocked. The bulls had like a 10 point lead with under a minute to go. And with Jordan most folks gave up. I kept watching and got a treat
Lol u was on your business work from home shit in 98 I see 😂👌🏾😎
Damn, Finley got payback and the best of Jordan and dominated the whole great BULLS team!!! Respect!!! Those were the good old days
His first field goal..THAT'S A CARRY to the rim, but damn good game
How Jordan tries to give everything in the overtime, how he falls on the floor and not half a second later chases the ball again ... How he is hustling ... you don't see that with LeBron James
Facts
That was that was great DALLAS!!!!!
I remember this game. I was a biggest fan of Michael Jordan but when Mavs won I was so happy.
Great player. Dude had some nasty dunks with Suns and Mavs.
The Mavs' first win over the Bulls (with MJ) since December 22nd, 1987.
I was there but my friend wanted to leave early because he had to wake up early. We could have sat in the 2nd row at half court after everyone left. I was so mad at him for that. Never leave early because you never know what will happen.
Oh my, that's Don Nelson, miss that awesome guy. Finley played like Mike, pretty mature play and good fundamental for the young gun. I remember Finley was Mavs' franchise player before Nash and Dirk came along and the Big 3 Days with Finley, Nash and Dirk.
Finley was a bad mother "trucker" I used to play with him on Sega dream cast his dunks were out of this world..
Great Victory 👌🏾
I hated Pippen in '98 dude lost control of his personal issues regarding his contract. He felt he didn't have to play 100% for being underpaid.
Finley was bringing it to Jordan. But notice how Finley kept his composure and didn't get too caught up in a scoring battle trying to out duel Jordan. Finley kept passing the ball to his teammates and that's what ultimately got Dallas the win!
i remember watching this live as a kid. went nuts when ced hit that 3........................lol @ those bulls groupies going after rodman at the end
4:11 Michael Finley with the Karl Malone mailman dunk LOL I see you Mike I see you!
What a game
Finley was good but Mj is 🐐
Could you imagine Jordan, Pippen, Findley, Rodman, Kokoc lineup?
Point guard??? Kukoc 6th man?
Who is kokoc and finDley?????!!!
what if finley was drafted by the bulls at 20 instead of 21
ur theduke he nixed mcgrady because the bulls were planning to trade pippen for t-mac and finley was drafted one spot after the bulls by the suns
What if nobody knew T-Mac could play and the Bulls drafted him in 1997?
What if the Bulls drafted Kobe?
4:31 man, you'll never see anything like that in todays NBA, fineness god, I could watch this game forever, make the NBA great again the athletes just aren't the same today
Rick S how?
@3:48 rodman new it was an And 1. Dope!
Finely started his rookie year off with the Phoenix Suns. The dumbest move made by the Suns was when they traded off Finely and A.C. Green to Dallas
I never thought Michael Finley was this good back in the day! But I would still choose Jordan if it's winning time!
Y2kSd4 🤔🤔
MF played against MJ 1 on 1 in highschool when MF had his Jerry Curl and he was taking to MJ but of course he didn't win. It's footage of it out there but don't know if it's on the tube. I saw it on TV when I was living in Chicago. I always thought MF was very underrated. You never hear his name when people are talking basketball. Nothing but NBA ballers come from Chicago and Maywood, IL.
When it comes to one of the most athletic shooting guards of all time and could shoot, Michael Finley gets slept on. Makes me curious of what happened to him cuz I don't remember when he did retire.
He went to the spurs for awhile after the Mavs lost in 06 I think. He ended up winning a ring w the spurs and then soon retired. He's back with the Mavs in a management position
MJ IS JUST POETRY IN MOTION MICHAEL FIN IS SLEPT ON
Well the young man made it to the league after all
wow......good quality
These highlights are fucking amazing!
That was a great game. Finley was really brining it.
If underrated was ever a statement
Bro the defense against Jordan. Like they really tried to stop him.
Could you imagine if the Bulls drafted Finley over Caffey? Harper/Jordan/Finley/Pippen/Rodman would have been sick.
Funny thing is Finley is wearing Jordan's
Anthony Dupree he is team Jordan even rip hamilton
@Jermaine Legging Man he had on Team Jordans here
finley has always worn Jordan shoes.
wow never seen my owned so badly. That last play
I remember this just like yesterday, I was still in highshcool back then. As a Bulls fans I thought Bulls not gonna won that year, I mean Bulls in 96 and 97 was so tough to beat and in this game they got beat by Maverick which was not a good team that time. Ah that 4th quarter..
Where the crowds loader back then or is it just poor audio?
Eso era juego de basket de hombres!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Lol Rodman 3:47
Mid-range Game = Lost Art
I watched this as a kid (freshman) live I lived in CHicago was a Michael Finely fan tho.... and i was shocked to see my hometown to lose to my favorite player
I saw it live also. I grew up on the southside of Chicago.
Love the 90s do need a whole but of dribbling to score
Super intense basketball, not like crap the NBA is now
