  • Light no fire is the next title by Hello games, the creators of No Mans Sky. Light no fire will take place on one single planet and Not a universe, but it will be a very big planet, it will have a fantasy setting. It will be focused on exploration and building but also on players interacting with each other. This video is is kind of a short video game essay about my relation to No Mans sky, the history of No Mans Sky and in what way I think Light No fire will be a lot better than No Mans Sky ever was or ever will be.

    LNF seems pretty cool, and I'm really looking forward to it too. I doubt it will be released in 2024, but I hope I'm wrong. As for co-op, since I often/usually play alone and don't have many friends with the same taste in games as me, I just hope that it's just as good of an experience to play solo as it is co-op. Hopefully the two can coexist seamlessly

      I suspect they will re use some stuff from No Mans Sky. At least in terms of tech. Things like how base building works and how you modify terrain and such. Hopefully some other things are different thought.

      I'm glad you do. Let's see how much it will freak out the almighty youtube algorithm with a bit of different content. This type of content take a little bit longer to make than my let's builds since I do have to write a script in advance. For building videos I usually just start with an idea and work my way forward with a few re shoots throughout some sections of the build. But my goal is to mix my let's build content with some videos like this, some previews.. maybe reviews stuff like that

      Thank you. Glad you like it. The like ratio is a lot lower than my usual stuff, but I guess I still got a lot to improve in respect to this type of video. So something to work with :) And yes, It actually seems like youtube did not give up on this one and actually found the correct audience.

      Same here, I think it has a good chance to turn out to be something really special considering how much experience Helo games have now compared to what they had when they started out with NMS

    Looking forward to this one myself, and hope it launches well. I never did go back to retry No Man's Sky after all the updates, but have really enjoyed Valheim and Enshrouded (though I still haven't finished my floating island house, or even started the farmer's house and the smithy lol). Thank you for the synopsis.

    • @Ketmo785
      @Ketmo785  Месяц назад

      I have yet to make a floating island base. It is on my to do list for Enshrouded builds. No Mans Sky is a real great game nowadays. The thing I mentioned in the video about the co-op is really the only criticism I have. When I play a survival title I would really have enjoyed if the main questline, freighter base and such was possible to do in a group

    Im not sure who will agree with me on this, but LNF to me feels like it should be almost like minecraft. If i want to play alone, I can play alone. I can mine alone, fight mobs alone, build a house alone, farm alone, eat potatoes alone. But I can also play with friends.
    I love exploring caves and providing my group with ores, my friend loves building a huge farm with crops and animals. I'm no good at building, so my other friend builds us awesome houses. We can all divide the work between us and *share* in the progress, rather than having to do everything separately while next to each other.
    In LNF, I'd like to see a hunting/gathering group, a defense group, a building group, a crafting group, etc. So we each have our own tasks and we all benefit from playing together. Beyond that, I'd love to see some sort of ability to trade with other people not in our group so that way, running into other travellers would be purposeful past just.... waving at each other and jumping to show friendliness.

    • @Ketmo785
      @Ketmo785  Месяц назад

      I agree with pretty much all of your points. It is good if it is also possible to play solo. Not everyone want to play in a party. What I wish is that for those who do, the co op systems are integrated well in all aspects of the game. For example by being able to form clans, or guilds that can own stuff like a base together and that players can party up and do quests together and share the progression.

    • @Ketmo785
      @Ketmo785  Месяц назад +1

      For me Enshrouded have dethroned Valheim, and all other survival titles in terms of best building system. Valheim got a great building system, as long as you are fine with making Viking stuff. It is very hard to pull anything else off due to the materials and building blocks at hand. However the rest of the gameplay is a different story where I think Enshrouded is good but not exceptional. I think as an overall experience playing co-op Valheim is still the something very special. Takes little time to get into but it is exceptionally well done. Just wish they didn't have like a year in between every major expansion.

    • @Ketmo785
      @Ketmo785  Месяц назад

      We will see if he does. However I think a lot of times hype for games is as much the fault of people like me who are just excited about the game. I think the important thing is that the developers are transparent. As long as provide review copies pre release to media plenty of time before the actual release then they are not to blame. Like with Manor Lord. As long as people can see exactly what they are getting pre release then I thin it is okej. The thing I don't like is when super hyped titles let people pre purchase way in advance before knowing at all what they are getting.

    All they gotta do is Minecraft+Valheim and it’ll be a hit, I would love PVP as well but have it toggled so if you don’t want it you don’t have to play it that way

    • @Ketmo785
      @Ketmo785  Месяц назад

      Maybe.. I feel it is different things. Enshrouded might, in time with all updates during EA, become the pinnacle of survival titles with handcrafted maps. Valheim, and later on Light No fire, the pinnacle of survival titles with procedurally generated maps. Handcrafted maps have some benefits. But procedurally generated others. The can simply offer another scale impossible to reach with a handcrafted map.
