No way they release the game only for PC. Hello Games is all about getting their games out to as many devices as possible. 5 years in development and they already had more than a solid foundation already laid out with the engine and learned lessons from no mans sky? Id say its a pretty safe bet that we will get more information and a release date soon. And it will come out on pc, ps, and xbox. Mark my words. Hello Games is a power house of development, look at the amount of content they can develope in a short amount of time. People saying 2025 or 2026 as a release date? Theres no way they cook this game for another 2 to 3 years. They wouldnt announce it unless it was close to being ready. They wouldnt be running the ads on all social media. They know theyve baked a delicious cake and theyre going to want as many people as possible to try it.
I was hoping that also, but plan on a new pc in he 2nd quarter, and LNF would be a great game to play on it. SO now my hopes are 2nd quarter, plus 2nd gives more time for the hype train to build.
I really wish people would wise up and stop doing this silly video game hype thing. every. single. time. You know exactly what's gonna happen. The game is gonna get massive hype. All the casuals and randoms are going to play at first. And then after launch they will do trash talking on the internet. And then it'll eventually just be left to the people that are interested in the game and want to play it to actually play it... It just keeps happening over and over 😮💨
Judging by what’s NOT in the trailer, I think release is at least 6 months away. Until a new trailer shows more than two seconds of combat, inventory management, crafting, and actual feature, I am going to assume those things are still in development
I think Hello Games showed you the percentage of the game features by how much it showed. I don't see too much PVE, I see some decent role-playing quests, and of course, lots of explorations and mysteries!
Procedural games have so much potential if they sprinkled in created areas. Imagine if they made dungeons or ruins that pop up throughout the map. You'd have the best of both worlds. The size of procedural with the excitement and engagement of areas with substance. Plus they could randomly sprinkle in content as they go
If they want to avoid a repeat of NMS' launch, they already kept quiet for 5 years while working on this game, they probably won't have us waiting for another 3 years before releasing. And what I really think they should do is release another video showcasing some actual gameplay so we know what to expect and to avoid any future accusations of them lying about what you do in the game. At the very least I'm interested in this game but I realize I don't really understand what you do in it lol. Anyway, I think it'll release sometime in mid 2024.
Agreed. I would expect hello games to keep their mouths shut after what they did when NMS launched. At least until they know exactly what their game will be capable of doing at release.
I think the release date is going to be by two factors. 1. How much hype they build online and number of wishlists 2. How long it takes to get the game certified on all platforms (probably 3-8 months)
Hello Games has not been bought by Microsoft. It is/was on Microsoft's list of considerations. Anyway, I think Steam will have it first, followed by Playstation and Xbox.. Since HG has a larger development team now, I believe things will happen sooner, and for more platforms. Releasing the tralier has already garnered millions of interested players.. and this helps HG to work out their plans for releases and such IMHO. Nonetheless, I WANT THE GAME NOW !!! heh..
Well, if we’re basing the release of Light No Fire with NMS, then NMS began development around 2011. The first trailer was 2013 and its release was 2016. That’s five years from development to release. Light No Fire has been in development for 5 years so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was released sometime 2024.
I hope next year, if the announcement of the game is in any way the same as the NMS updates then the product is close to being done. However it very well could be early buzz. Also i hope it comes out for ps5, xbox one x/s, and pc to begin.

just a wild guess but i think it will launch on steam between Q2 2024 to Q3 2025 edit: also, PC MATER RACE BABY!!!! (jk, consoles are valid too but PC is always ahead of the game on hardware and such)
I’ll be so pissed if it’s only on steam I don’t think it will be I don’t really see hello games doing the exclusivity dance with one console or another, nms is on everything so hopefully this will be the same, except last gen consoles
I say that Light No Fire won't release before 2025. To be honest, early access on Steam isn't something that I've even considered. That would be pretty wild. I'm going to wishlist the game now if only to help make what you're proposing a more likely reality.
Just to play it safe , I wont be pre-ordering this game. No Mans Sky is amazing so worst case this one will be great by 2029. I'll put it on the calendar
We'll get another trailer/presentation at the Toyko Game show in 2024 then possiblely a release window (summer/fall/winter) and the year, mostly likely 2024 is the release year..... As for platform, PC is the first (just cause steam allows such adverts/pages... But it will be all platforms series X/s and ps5, last Gen is not happening
Hello games hit a texh milestone that they dont have to regwnerate their unoverse for new game iterations shaun murry mentioned this shortly after next reset the universe due to its proc gen changes. Also limiting light no fire to a single platfoem.foe what might be three years would make no sense financially especially if support for nms sunsets in a year
I think it still might be a little ways off (announcing a whole new game is different from an update) but I think you might be on the money with the Steam thing.
The BIGGEST Thing that this will need to be truly successful? Persistent, Player driven Town/City Building. What do I mean by that? Even if the world isn't a TRUE MMO, and something more along the lines of NMS, then one thing the game is absolutely going to need, is the towns and cities that players build to be persistent and present across all games. What does this do? A few things. The most important being it gives players a place to meet up, group up and interact without having to be part of some larger group. Even if its like NMS and actual players in the wild are on different "Layers" if they're not in the same group. It also encourages people to spread out and EXPLORE. Is the starting area to congested? You can pack up and move to a smaller town. Need to make some money? Run a Caravan and trade between cities. That's also why its important that such things be PLAYER driven. Let the players decide where and how these places outside of the starting areas come to be. I know one of the counters to that argument will be "but if everyone can build anywhere, it'll be a mess!" And while that's true, that's part of the charm of it too. If it gets TO bad, the devs selling land titles could be a good solution, but that's just getting into hypothetical. My point in all of this, if you want this game to be a hit, let the PLAYERS build the towns, cities and connecting villages.
I'm going to be honest, it doesn't look like it will run on last gen. Then again, HG got No Man's Sky running on a Switch. I could be wrong, these guys pulls miracles out of somewhere all of the time.
@LegacyZero keep it up. Definitely my favorite NMS content creator. Leta hope LNF has those loot dungeons that you (and I) have been dreaming of for years in NMS
Good chance it will be released sometime in 2024 but also has a decent chance to come out in 2025 though. Also we already know the platforms look at no mans sky. So yes it will be on consoles.
Gear was 2 gone world of war craft gone 3 other online fantasy games gone due to this game alone it better have summoner with real collectable minions that can fight and tank and heal
Exclusivity would cost a lot of money, so I don't see that happening. HG needed the money and the PR of being a Sony Exclusive 7 years ago, they don't now. As for Early Access, previous to BG3 I'd say there was no chance that it'd happen. Now, in a post BG3 world I think it's _possible_ but very unlikely. Larian needed to hire a lot of people to finish the game, I don't think HG has the same financial constraints.
I think Summer 2024, just as NMS released in the summer when releases are slow. It also gives them another 6-8 months to work on this project and generate more marketing and information. Hoping for PS5 and Series support as they are brilliant at supporting so many platforms. If it's exclusive to Xbox, I will die inside as I only own PS5 😅

That's five months from announcement to launch. Might we see a similar pattern here?
didnt Sean say at the video game award stage that 2024 is going to be big for NMS? I could see a final big content update in 2024 for NMS as a nice closure and 2025 full focus on LNF.
You make good points about the advertising and turnaround time. If it does happen that fast, I don't see it on consoles at launch then. Despite the arduous cert process, the ratings board has changed some of their rules in rating games and trailers. But they're going on vacation soon, so they won't be reviewing anything new until likely next year. So unless HG sent more content their way well in advance, there won't be a rating until next year regardless. Gotta also remember the release of The Last Campfire. That came out exclusively on the Epic Games store for like a few months or something? And then went out to other platforms. Felt like HG testing the waters on how to approach release management. Right now, it sounds like LNF will release on Steam and only Steam. I just pray it's not Early Access. Even if it is a way to avoid a required rating. With all that in mind, a Steam release next month sounds promising. With other platforms in the later parts of the year. Approach the release similarly to NMS in the sense of scaling.
HG would be dumb to make an exclusive deal with Xbox since they would lose all those PS5 sales, which is the bigger install base. Plus MS would want the game to be on Game Pass. Not to mention the series S would hold the game back on that platform bc MS would want parity for Xbox. I could see them during early access on PC for a year then do PS5 and Series Xbox later on maybe 6 months or even a year. I do hope it releases on PC and Console at the same time bc I really don't want to wait.
Agreed. The Series S really dampers development. Especially for a game likely to push even the Series X/PS5. If this is coming to PC only, It's time I finally got one..
@@plo617 it may come to PC only at launch ( I hope not) but I cant see them skipping consoles with all those sales, especially on ps5. I would be curious if NMS sold more copies on PS or PC
Release: idk. I would be shocked if PC/Steam is not first. Even if ready as the same time, I'd expect Xbox to be before Playstation because PS is historically slower than M$. I have PS5; Xbox/S & PC; and PC/Steam.
My best friend in gaming and I have been discussing this since 5 seconds after Sean showed the trailer. We think it's close also. I wanted 1st quarter 2024, but that wasn't enough time for last minute stuff and adding to the hype train. I plan on a brand new pc in the 2nd quarter, so now I'm hoping for a launch then.
Of course it will be on Consoles hahaha. Console gamers are the vast majority of gamers, always have been. Also games are optimised for consoles, while on PC there are lots of variables of unoptimisation due to all the different PC builds.
Lets face it microsoft are going to chuck money at this like always, so imo, microsoft, pc, xbox, 100%. Maybe timed exclusive. Then everything else. As far as release date, not long, there not going to be milking the release window. And there not going to risk a delay like last time. Hopefully we get it stealth drop xmas day and its on everything from the start
I’m going to postulate that March will be a solid definite maybe for full scale launch. While development is ongoing, it is obvious we’re getting close. That said, Hello has in no way forgotten about stumbling out of the gate with NMS. The difference now is that the expectation for performance as a seasoned developer is set much, much higher. They can spend several months building hype to a fever pitch in the meantime. I believe they have some back room dealings with PlayStation. It was a very successful partnership and I believe Sony has more than likely thrown in some safety net money in exchange for early exclusivity. It’s just smart business for them both; the formation of a symbiosis moving from a vulnerable stage to measured optimism stage. PlayStation too, would rather see a slight delay in launch if it means risking less on stumbling out of the gate, and at the same time they don’t want to wait forever. My money is on March. Looking forward to it, even if history proves me wrong…
I think NMF will release in 2nd quarter 2024. This will allow for a couple more trailers, explaining other features of the game, and may allow them to release on PC, PS and Xbox almost simultaneously.
Steam and Xbox, this is due to the acquisition list that Microsoft added hello game to in summer. Makes sense now with hello games on the list, it's not because they wanted to buy hello games, they wanted exclusivity to hello games future titles. Interesting video and thanks for sharing.
Sony did buy timed exclusivity for No Man's Sky. I think it was 2 years before No Man's Sky finally came to XBox. So maybe this time Microsoft feels they can buy timed exclusivity for Light No Fire and get it first this time, with Sony getting it 2 years later.
@@IshmaelKipling I'd believe an initial PC only release before an Xbox/PC release. Xbox has the smaller user base. But the biggest reason Sean wouldn't go that route is that Light No Fire would be compromised, due to having to release it on the weaker Series S. It's become a headache for developers trying to push these machines. And Light No Fire looks like it will indeed push the newest hardware.
I feel strongly LNF will release on Steam in Nov 2024. It’s very likely it may also launch roughly at that same date on consoles, hence why the heavy promotion on multiple social media platforms. Based on previous lessons learned from NMS and not held by contract or funding, HG may be advertising to draw the attention to from Sony/XBox platforms to see if they want in on the bandwagon without being beholden to any exclusivity rights. Just my opinion, I too am excited for its release.
Oh definately! I'm suggesting sony or XBox many come to them with an offer so they can get sales on a game that's highly anticipated based off of the positive reviews from early adverts. No exclusivity which is what got them in hot water from NMS @@RodneyG669
I think 2024 is likely. After 5 years, I can't imagine Sean wants to (or the team itself wants him to) now spend the next 1-2 yrs trying not to overhype and oversell the launch. I think they announced it now to put a timer on releasing within the next 6-9 months in part to limit the hype cycle and prevent Sean from getting too far ahead of himself. Early Access Steam seems likely. They probably don't have the resources to launch on all the platforms that NMS runs on and it would probably be madness to try to support them all at once right from the start anyway, so some cohort of interested players was always going to miss out. A couple of years of EA for BG3 didn't hurt it's multiplatform prospects and that's a game with a much more scripted and pre-determined narrative experience.
When do you think Light No Fire will release? Do you think it's coming to consoles at launch?

@@Dave_Langer If it's PC only, it might be some kind of early access thing, then the consoles will likely get it later.
Also games are optimised for consoles, while on PC there are lots of variables of unoptimisation due to all the different PC builds.
one planet is a much better plan than a stupidly large universe, its much better to tackle something you can tackle
no sys req yet on the steam page i would say November
Please bring this to ps5 I will buy it straight away
I don't see why they wouldn't launch on consoles
Don’t get hyped up for light no fire
Lets face it microsoft are going to chuck money at this like always, so imo, microsoft, pc, xbox, 100%. Maybe timed exclusive. Then everything else. As far as release date, not long, there not going to be milking the release window. And there not going to risk a delay like last time. Hopefully we get it stealth drop xmas day and its on everything from the start
Damn it! I don't want to buy a pc!
how do you only have 8k subs when i clicked i thought you had at least 100k. keep it up man.
Thank you! I'd have more if I wasn't such a procrastinator 😬
This will allow for a couple more trailers, explaining other features of the game, and may allow them to release on PC, PS and Xbox almost simultaneously.
at much as i really wanan believe its just around the corner, im gonna guess its coming 2025 at the least, but id love to be wrong
I think that was the only advertisement I have genuinely watched all the way through lol looks amazing
I don't recall if ANY game has ever been advertised for sale when it wasn't actually for sale!
My best guest, the release date could be close to 2026, but that’s just a guess
Steam and Xbox, this is due to the acquisition list that Microsoft added hello game to in summer. Makes sense now with hello games on the list, it's not because they wanted to buy hello games, they wanted exclusivity to hello games future titles. Interesting video and thanks for sharing.
That list was just potential acquisitions. Also, I'm sure Sean prefers being independent.
I'm not sure, the studio's involvement with Sony was costly for them and they might be gunshy after that.
Oh definately! I'm suggesting sony or XBox many come to them with an offer so they can get sales on a game that's highly anticipated based off of the positive reviews from early adverts. No exclusivity which is what got them in hot water from NMS

hope so. id love to check this out
I think 2024 is likely.
A couple of years of EA for BG3 didn't hurt it's multiplatform prospects and that's a game with a much more scripted and pre-determined narrative experience.
knowing that there's 16 days left in 2023, I would also think ti is likely to release in 2024 loll
@@lebrongrv 😐 I meant as opposed to 2025 or beyond
