I love all these episodes of Gunsmoke and I really love pairing up the radio shows with the tv versions of the storylines. My particular favorite of both the episodes is “Box Of Rocks” what a great story. No mater how bad my day is that episode will pickup my sprits. I Thank You more than you will ever know. THANKS 😊
Poor Trudy finally escapes that creep of a "father" only to immediately run into a boy who wants to control her and turn her into a meek little housewife. Then Matt gets furious with Trudy for acting out when the poor kid spent 16 years being a maid, cook, and a wife in every disgusting way to her Paw. Then he has the nerve to sit there and talk crap about Trudy, who is obviously acting out and probably really messed up mentally from what she went through, and feel sorry for that bratty boy who was mad he couldn't control the first little girl he took a liking to. This episode pissed me off!

Wow! The producers had guts to air this one.
I know. But it was handled well, without the profanity and obscenity that they would put into it now.
Not the best Gunsmoke episode but better than anything on today's television.
Of course, they couldn't come right out and say it back then, but they hinted at Trudy and her Pa being REAL close..
Trudy and her father had an incestuous relationship. Ms. Harper Stacey.

"Poor" Trudy... ?! Are you SERIOUS... ?! Even with her background, she was just plain NO GOOD, and Matt saw her for what she was.
