Discover 6 Essential addons for Japanese learners that ALL work together on version 2.1.49 but NOT the most recent version: ruclips.net/video/ahGkFX4JPc8/видео.html
I tried this but because using anki connect with Yomitan I had to stay with the updated version of anki so I can make flash cards using yomitan or chan, whatever er it has changed to
is this old version and the latest one very different? like is everything same in the old one, or does it lack in some things compared to the latest ones
The only thing different between 2.1.49 and the most recent version is some of the UI. Every feature remains the same. Functionality has not changed. . The only thing newer versions of Anki does is break plugins. Unless you enjoy breaking plugins for no reason, there is never any reason to update Anki ever.
@@dollarkoller Not a problem. 1. If you manage your cards and workload correctly in the first place, you don't need it. 2. If you do need it, just get the addon. It'll work the same. Getting native fsrs is not worth the cost of losing on every other addon, especially when the alternative is that you just get everything anyway.
I would strongly recommend that you do not do it, the new versions contain artificial intelligence algorithms and many improvements in which the developers have put a lot of effort, for software that is free.
What you are referring to is called FSRS, which is available to older versions using the addon. . If you use the new version, you get FSRS but lose a bunch of essential plugins. . @@JouzuJuls Hi Jouzu! I don't even understand how this new FSRS works. Can you please make a video about it so that we know if we should use it or not. Thx in advance.
@@l2scorp1on54 I don't use FSRS because I've never needed it in all the time I've been using Anki. I've heard that using it properly can allow you to do a little bit less reviews but still retain the same amount of info, but using it improperly leads to more reviews with less retained info. However my advice from the very beginning was "just don't do so many reviews to begin with". Managing your own workload is part of using Anki properly, even if you use FSRS you'll still need to do workload management. Imo it's just an extra step and I wouldn't go out of my way to intentionally get it. Edit: Wanted to add that I'm not saying FSRS is useless; I think if you took time to learn it, it could be quite useful. I'm just saying that I don't use it so I can't teach others how to use it or vouch for its effectiveness.
