I just ordered mine (in white), along with the LED option, 4 AAA rechargeable batteries (for the vehicle) and the Kyosho USB charger. I'm a 65 year old, but still enjoy being a kid too.
I bought the White Mini-Z Jeep last Wednesday, and its awesome. I bought a real Jeep Rubicon 4 Door this past Sunday, and now I need to get the Mini Z Jeep in the Granite Crystal color (as shown in this video), so it matches my real Jeep's colors.
I hope they make a 1/12 version in the future of RC Jeep Rubicons, kyosho makes an outstanding balance of the mini Z truck, nice job testing it on incline surfaces.😎😉👍
Thanks for the Review, I was torn between the SCX24 or a Mini Z MX-01. I ended up with the Kyosho due to stock levels, the only SCX24 I could find was the deadbolt and Im not a fan. The Jeep (I always wanted a Jeep) has been fantastic. Ive been crawling over my daughters Duplo and making courses with that, went past the local office supplies store and low and behold they had Plaster Cloth and Model Train Tree's and grass etc.... so guess what Im building now. Should be finished by tonight.
Great review. I don't own one, but not a fan of the 8 triple a batteries. I own 5 scx24 and they are amazing! Don't care much for the scale aspect, more performance oriented (as I drive them with my 4 year old and he could care less about the scale and all about what they can do).
They’re slowly coming out with stuff to make this perform better... I actually like the triple a batteries... I use rechargeable ones from kyosho on my mini z vehicles

I definitely like the detail of this truck. However the downfalls for me is that it sits way to high and it should come with a lipo. Other than that I like it!
@@rcdriver i compromised and went for 2x AAA lipos and 2 spacer batteries. reduces the weight and puts it slightly lower but its easy enough to solder a lipo connector n parallel and have the best of both worlds
is it possible to place my old dead hummer h2 kioshio body on that? it looks quite similar. i want to buy 2 new 4x4 for kids to race em, but i like only new wrangler body, so i could buy 2 and replace one with h2 😊
The disappointing point is that the bumper’s are just made up. But the body is so cool. But I already have Jimny from the same maker. Will it be a reasonable decision to buy it?
I have both and the jimny still sticks out as being out of scale. i much prefer to drive the jeep as stock and dress up the jimny with accesories. that said the jeep is a 120mm wheel base so if you buy the body you can change the bumpers and side mounting plates and put it on the new body. a much easier and cheaper way than buying a new one if you just want the body
@@BlitzWorks Thank you for your comment. Actually I mounted the Led on Jimny so I was thinking about buying a Rubicon Readyset. And Like you, I was thinking leaving Jimny for soft driving and do the real off-road with Rubicon. But the readyset costs so expensive as you know... do you think is it worthy to buy another one?
@@pinacolada1719 No i would keep just the one. i picked up a second chassis as my jimny is now brushless. i would instead install the jeep bumpers and leave them on there as if they are like the toyota then they are compatible with the jimny body and look quite good (as well as make the jimny crawl much better) the only thing you would need to change then is the side plates which is a much easier and quicker job basically i think the mini 4x4 is a bit overpriced due to demand at the moment, i would wait for it to come down before buying one and just go with a body instead
@@BlitzWorks I fully agree with you that 4x4 is really overpriced. So... I guess I have to buy the body instead of full set. Or... wait for the new body to be released. Anyway, sincerely, Thank you for your advice.
Seems like the way to go. I hadn't heard of this one before, I watched this video thinking this would be a little bit cheaper than the SCX. I'm kind of blown away that it's almost twice the price. Now I know I'm buying the SCX24!
@@bigdavesoutdoors9761 that was my thinking too! I'm in RI. I've been wanting to get into RC Crawlers, and just recently realize they made these 24th scales. Half the fun will be building little indoor crawling courses, haha. Which body did you get?
hi guys i ordered an ftx one simillar to this and when i unboxed it and took it out it hit a stone not even half an inch and it rolled and it was bouncing around like mad any ideas why thanks.
The bodies are much different. The Kyosho hard body is way more detailed than an Axial body. Hard bodies cost much more than Lexan to produce and detail. For some enthusiasts scale detail is very important and that a reason this rig will appeal to a certain audience. People focus too much trying to determine the “best”. Options are great for the hobby. It allows there to be something for everyone and competition always good for the end user.
@@jeepnty8559 I get the scale aspect, but saying that you have to replace the charger and batteries for the scx24 is not needed. The battery charges quickly and lasts a very long time. In contrast, the Kyosho requires NEW triple a batteries every time you run it. I did buy a second battery for $9.99 for my fleet of scx24s, but haven't even had to use it since the batteries last about 30-45 minutes when crawling. Not trying to be argumentative, but that logic is flawed. For $119 the scx24 jeep is far cheaper...now as for the value of the "scale look" that part, is indeed subjective.
Haven't really seen anyone comment on the electronics yet, trying to decide between the two myself, and leaning a little more towards the kyosho. From what I've seen the motor is twice as large as the scx24, and it looks like the servo is more powerful as well. Plus dont forget the metal links also, yeah, you can get them for the scx, but drives the price up (servo+links+ scale detail accessories probably gets close to the kyosho $200 tag) . I personally like the AAA idea. Got tons of em around, and dont have to worry about all the lipo BS. Just pop em in and go!
@@leetjohnson It’s a matter of preference. The mini z wins for aesthetics and the scx24 wins for performance. I love my Scx24, but Anyone with an Scx24 should get an aftermarket charger though. They are well known to have issues.
Dont buy these lol you can get two or three ecx 1/24 and those are wayyy better. I had a barrage 1/24 the thing literally could handle the 1/10 rocks i crawl on. Only downfall is they aren't geared low so its touchy but doable.
Not worth it in my opinion. For an extra $150, you can get a TRX4 Sport and can have a lot more fun and upgradable in the long run. But if your rich...🤷🏻♂️

These Mini Z 4x4s are expensive but man they look great. I'm eyeing the Suzuki but waiting to see what else they come out with.
The Suzuki has smaller tires and less ground clearance so it scale drives more....

That Jeep is 🍌🍌🍌 😎.. Question, can you make crawlers fast? I mean just asking..
Not the mini ones really but 1/10 ones yes but they flip over a lot then... not designed to take corners at speed
You can change a Pinion gear to make it faster. If the gear gets bigger, the speed will be faster. However, the power to crawl will be decreased.
