Both akmal's had a lot of batting talent. And there were definitely many glimpses of that here and there. But seeing knocks like these makes me feel sad because they weren't able to fully utilise their talents.
They were given plenty of chances by PCB despite their dressing room politics and other shenanigans but they didn't change. Good riddance at the end I would say.

People give Akmal far less credit than he deserves. Sure he went on to drop quite a few important catches later on in his career, but when he started he was a very good keeper. I still remember being in awe of Akmal, especially in that home series against England in 2005. He can be good. It's just that he dropped way too many sitters
Reason is because he dropped them intentionally. Like in Sydney Test he dropped catches and missed a run out just to frustrate captain and that cost us a confirmed test victory in Australia.
