Great video. I am looking to copy all values from azure AD profiles of "Job Title" over to "Custom Attribute 1" in order to create a dynamic distribution list based on employees' "job titles". I am hoping that this can be done in the background Via Power Automate or PowerShell. Unfortunately, Dynamic Distribution lists don't allow us to pick "Job Title" as the field to base the dynamic distribution lists off of. What kind of process would you recommend using to copy these "Job Title" values over to "Custom Attribute 1"? Any thoughts or ideas would be great. Thank you!!
@@svadhayay thanks - could you make it do this automatically in the background somehow? I want to avoid manually copying over job title each time a new user is created...
Yes, the custom attribute needs to be added manually to each user. You can use the below script to create DDL on the basis of attributes: New-DynamicDistributionGroup -Name 'Noida Test' -RecipientFilter "(Office -eq 'Noida') -and (Company -eq 'CGS') -and (RecipientType -eq 'UserMailbox')"
My organization is a school. We issue e-mails with our own domain to both students and employees. The difference is that students are assigned the "Office 365 A1 for students" license, while employees get the "Office 365 A1 for faculty" license. Is it possible to make a dynamic group that automatically adds everyone with a faculty license to it? Need this to send mass e-mails to all the employees but not the students. Failing to find a way thus far. Having to juggle 3 different admin centres doesn't help.

I've updated the display name on eac and also on powershell but it doesn't update on gal. Still shows the old display name. How can I sync it?
Is it a hybrid environment or purely cloud?

You can export Job title using PowerShell from Azure and then update the same in custom attribute in Exchange Online via PowerShell.

Do we need to add the custom attribute manually for each user? How can we create dynamic DL by location or job title?
