It's good to see someone use the old way of stamping a basket weave. Most just use the tool made for it. But the way you have put the cuts in it gives it real character. Not all uniform like the stamp is. I know there are many that learn from your videos. Even an old leather worker like me for a lot & a lot of years pick up good tips & tools from your videos. Keep up the great work.
Like your videos bud. Its good to see the leathercraft coming back and getting more and more people involved. Im outside San Antonio if your ever around, holla..
I tried doing this on my own BEFORE watching this and it just ended up looking like a checkerboard so thanks for the tips! New to leather so I was flying by the seat of my pants... Great vid! Now I have a better idea of how to NOT screw it up...
Hey fella great video and here i thought one needed a basket weave stamp to create that effect ,but one thing iv noticed in all the similar videos iv watch rarely dose anong mention the oz of the leather they are tooling on .
Good video, but would have been helpful to mention/explain the direction you were beveling and why as you went, you know, for beginners. (Eye roll, lol)
perfect video for quick reference, going in my leathercraft playlist! thanks man
Thank you for the impressive result and clear instructions .

Howdy. As far as leather weight goes the minimum I do this on is 3oz. The knife sheath in this video is 9-10oz
Nice video and technique. I learn alot from your vids. Will you be doing another about painting on leather? I found that one useful as well.
Thank you. Yes I will be doing a more in depth video soon
I’m going to try that. Thanks bud
You're very welcome

Impressive. I'll have to give it a try.
What size smooth bevelers are most commonly used?!?! Tryin to order a couple
I like the B201 and B935
Up 2 lines, or squares?
Lines
What beveling tools are you using in this video?
The large beveler is a B198 from Tandy and a small beveler PB011 from Hobby Lobby
What oz of leather is that
8-9oz
@@AttackLineLeather is that the best size for tooling or no?
@@coyrodgers if I ever tool the minimum I go is 5oz. For knife sheaths I try and keep it 8-10oz
@@AttackLineLeather okay thank you just tryna get started
🤔?
Sorry, but it's not the thickness, it's the width
