Thank you so much for having me! The video turned out great, I'm so happy that I was a part of it! ! ❤It was a blast discussing warriors with you, and we can all agree that Brightheart deserves all the love and more!❤❤❤
hey! in the begining of the video you said you were half blind. Im also blind in my right eye from an injury, i can relalate so much to you and brightheart
Not wrong brightheart Is a juggernaut in my opinion and would have been a good leader and I can not stress this enough WOULD HAVE BEEN INFINITELY BETTER THAN BRAMBLECLAW/STAR WHO I WOULD GLADLY SKIN ALIVE! That was a bit aggressive but if anyone says Brambleclaw/star is a good character is dumb as a box of rocks
Brightheart has always been one of my favorite characters because of how much she inspired me to keep going despite my disability. It really is a shame how the writing team has just left her in the dust.
They did give her Jayfeather as an apprentice because he's blind. But after he became an medicine apprentice she never got another one which is really sad.
@@LovelyEmma_ I agree with that. It's not fair for Brightheart, she was actually one of the first cats that taught me important life lessons, along with Jayfeather and CInderpelt to name a few.
Am I the only one just now realizing that Jaykit/feather said, "Oh great, let's lump all the useless cats together and hope a tree falls on them!" while referring to him, Brightheart, and Longtail, but then Longtail ACTUALLY died from a falling tree?
Brightheart definitely needed more time in the limelight. Thankfully, Sunnyfall’s rewriting of POT and OOTS gives her what she needed, including another apprentice and a deputy position.
Brightheart is amazing, and I loved her story. She deserved better after Jayfeather treated her horribly. quick edit: I can relate to poke, I'm nearly blind in my left eye and have TERRIBLE depth perception and hand-eye coordination.
I love Brightheart! ❤ I’m so glad she survived the green cough outbreak in Sky! Thanks for talking about her, she should have been a pov character, and I’m glad she will finally get that chance in A Theif in ThunderClan! And she totally deserved to be be Brightstar!
I got so worried she got green cough in the preview. Speaking of povs (how I never got a Cloudtail pov), the way warriors kept them changing makes me wanna make a fantasy/sci-fi story abt having different povs, everyone’s a main character
@@Sheedystar_the_cat ya, when i read warriors, i always wondered what it felt like to choose a character u wanted to read, so if my team were to make a fantasy book like this or a futuristic racing series like pokemon, readers get to really be the characters w/o changing povs
Everyone deserves a Cloudtail in their life: Someone who is there to remind you of your strengths when you're feeling down. He and Brightheart are my favorite couple
Brightheart is my favorite character. Love her or hate her- wait.. nobody hates her Edit: lol not to be that person and sorry this is early but I don’t usually get likes on comments so thanks for almost 40 likes on my cheesy comment why
I love the art for brightheart and cloudtail! When I was reading a dangerous path, the scene where cloudtail, firestar, and sandstorm (?) where coming from some sort of patrol. Cloudtail is in the front and says "no not her anyone but her", I thought he was talking about brightheart. I was so attached to her at that point that I put the book down. I a little bit later picked it up again and saw that I had been worked up for nothing. Brightheart was still alive! After jaypaw I thought the two would make up and she would get icepaw. Nope! Her daughter gets her. Even when whitewing is in the nursery and can't train, who gets the damn cat? I don't know I forgot. But not brightheart. I hoped she'd get toadstep or rosepetal. Cloudtail get one, and squirrelflight gets another. Briarlight, bumblestripe or blossomfall? No thornclaw, mousewhisksr, and hazeltail. Dovewing or ivypool? Cinderheart and lionblaze. Maybe cherryfall and molewhisker. Rosepetal and foxleap. The next five couldn't happen, because blah blah nursery. I was begging that she'd get hollytuft, sorrelstripe, or fernsong. But no. Cloudtail got another and the other two got random cats. I stopped hoping after twigpaw got sparkpelt. Even when her son dies she is not seen grieving. Instead of bramblestar a brightstar would have been a great idea, akira!
I think it’s bc after the dog attack cloudtail helps teaching her moves, that are for cats with only one eye. So unless there was a cat with only one eye she may have taught them wrong. Also didn’t in the books fire star said “no she was specifically trained to teach jaypaw” after holly paw asked her to be her mentor? Btw not hating I do love brightheart to
Imagine Brightheart as Firestar’s deputy instead of Brambleclaw! She could’ve became Brightstar and show past her struggles, but still appoint Squirrelflight as her deputy! Granted, unless Squilf and Bramblestar get their stuff together and break up, I don’t know who else she’d pick as Squirrelstar, if she, deservingly, gets to become a -star.
I feel awful for brightheart. After what happened with her and Swiftpaw, cats like Princess have felt nothing but horror and pity for her. Cloudtail and Firestar were really the first cats to show her respect.
Ok I know I’m a bit late but I sooooooo agree She basically went into depression when Swiftpaw died. She had AN EYE CLAWED OUT by a dog, was renamed lostface by Bluestar, and STILL isn’t Brightstar?? Seriously? She’s got two surviving children, one of which has great-grand children, and speaking of grandchildren, her son-in-law Birchfall and her granddaughter Ivypool trained in the DARK FOREST without her knowing, her other grandchild Dovewing was part of a crazy prophecy AND went to join another Clan, and her great-grandchild Bristlefrost is GONE FOREVER!! WHAT!?!? WHAT!?
As someone who is apart of the disabled community it really hurt to read about how some of the cats with disabilities were treated. My wish for any new part of the series if they introduce more books is that whatever the next generation of Warrior Cats is, that they find a way to make the clans treat their disabled cats better. I say cats because I mean this for all clan cats in every position whether that be a Queen, a Warrior, Or even a Medicine cat. Every cat should be treated with respect regardless of disability unless they have proven they do not deserve it by doing something terrible like when Ashfur became a tyrant because he wanted to be with Squirrelflight. (I consider Ashfur disabled because he basically became a Psychopathic Megalomaniac).
The other clans have very few disabled cats but I think when they appear they are still treated more fairly than they are in Thunderclan. In AVOS, the writing team gave attention to Finleap losing his tail as an apprentica and how difficult he had found his training as his injury affected his balance so much. Berrynose had the same injury in Thunderclan and no POV cat seemed to notice that he probalby also struggled with his apprenticeship!
It always felt like bramble star was forced to be leader just because One he was trained by fire star and 2 because he had to show he could be better than his father, I always Hated that, as well as the way fire star kept losing all his lives all of a sudden, Bright heart to bright star would have been so much better
I recently finished reading A Dangerous Path and halfway through The Darkest hour, and i agree that brightheart for sure deserved more. The fact Cloudtail was so close and defensive for her, as well as brightheart having being brought on a curse after her injury response the Bluestar being angry and traumatized with both Tigerclaw and Starclan, mainly bringing the wrath for starclan with a cursed name, LostFace.
Brightheart is my friends favorite character, I agree she’s a great character! She deserved way more, including an apprentice. She showed us to keep going and not give up! I love jaypaw/feather, but he should have treated her better. Brightheart was one of the best fighters underground, showing she doesn’t need both eyes to be perfect, she’s amazing as she is, and thats brightheart, take it or leave it.
I absolutely hated that Brightheart never got the opportunity to train another apprentice like she was promised, Hollyleaf would've been a great fit for her. In one of my fanfics, she mentors a few of my OCs, and Jayfeather is given to another OC because he wanted to be treated like a normal warrior, not pitied and said OC goes out of her way to point that out to Firestar. The Erin's really went about that whole thing the wrong way, Jayfeather still could have realized he needed to be a medicine cat with another mentor, but if they absolutely wanted him with Brightheart at first they could have at least given her Hollyleaf when they swapped places.
Ya know, I kinda wish she had been a deputy atleast! She rlly was a amazing character and altho I haven't read the newer books, I truly had hoped we gotten more out of her ya know?
I’m really glad they made her a warrior. It would be so like warrior cats to force her to retire. As the owner of a cat who is also half blind I think she definitely could handle herself in a fight. As for Bluestar I felt she was never the best cat to begin with, even before her downhill spiral. (Apologies if that sounded offensive.) I always thought Bluestar was a fun character but never really liked her as a person. I hated it when she called Brokenstar out for apprenticing underage kits only to turn around and do the same for Cinderpelt and Brakenfur. Especially since she left their two siblings behind in the nursery.
Brightheart has always been incredibly special to me. In the part of the video talking of Bluestar, I kind of found it hard to swallow how much she denied and put aside her clan until the last little moment.
Brightstar is the best idea I've ever heard! Brambleclaw just becoming deputy was not the right end to his arc anyway, you know the whole loyalty over power thing, it would have been better to keep him as a warrior anyway. Although I really like the idea of Brackenstar too. Hmm
Yes!! ABSOLUTELY!!! Brightheart has been my favorite warriors character for years, shes always deserved so much more and did not deserve the disrespect she got from jaypaw
I agree brightheart should have been leader I wish she would have gotten another apprentice but she never did sadly now brightheart is just a elder waiting to die off
until now, i didnt notice how poor they treated bright heart, she wasnt given an apprentice just because of one disadvantage, her ONE eye, ive only known bright heart as cloudtails mate and one of the cats with a terrible backstory, even firestar said she was too bad and not good enough for any other apprentice but the one whos BLIND, i know he didnt directly said she sucked but he hinted at it strongly…
I would LOVE if Squirrelflight became Squirrelstar and made Brightheart deputy, she would probably die of old age before she would become leader but still
To be honest Brightheart would've been some much better than Bramblebutt, I mean hands-down (or paws-down) would be 101% better than him in practically every single way. I sometimes question the writing team for their biases, especially because they didn't kill off or even make Bramblestar step down despite being a bad leader.
Brightheart’s easily one of my favorite characters, I just love how she pushes through despite her disability I really wish the writers didn’t just leave her in the dust, she had a lot of potential imo, but I’m glad she’s getting a graphic novel ^^
Brightheart! I think she deserved MUCH more! Bluestar and the Erin’s did her a bit dirty in my opinion. I wish she had more character development, after all, she was one of the best characters!
I knew but forgot It would have been so interesting if they delve deeper into their relationship considering they were sisters and both disabled but the writers probably forgot like they forgot that graystripes parents were siblings
Ngl Brightheart being underutilized and forgotten about is part of why I headcanon that Holly, Jay, and Lion have a 4th sibling (perhaps dovewing, though that's iffy since it'd mean that Ivypool would not be her sister), who Brightheart mentored. (Also I was underwhelmed by the 4th cat simply being Firestar again, and Hollyleaf coming back as a badass just to die. I like to think that the prophecy about the three caused tension amongst the siblings, since they don't know who will be left out, with the 4th cat being Hollyleaf.)
With the apprentice thing I think that’s just the writers forgetting. They have so many characters and it feels like they never make notes on anything. That applies to really all the characters, disabilities or not. That’s why I wish they would have kept the character numbers low so they could properly focus on everyone but that’s also the downside of having writings pass through a bunch of different people. Stuff gets messed up because they hardly leave character notes to follow and people change things.
As someone who only has one working eye she has been a big inspiration. (Born also almost completely blind but in my left eye and it only works somewhat if I close my right. It’s extremely sensitive to light.) I started warrior cats reading the sight and finding out that jayfeather was blind and had a disabled mentor who could understand and teach him made me feel seen. But then they threw that away for him being a med cat. It’s not that he couldn’t fight or hunt. I was really sad when they never really mentioned her as much again, she lost her apprentice and never got another one.
Following on from Jaypaw insulting Brightheart as his mentor. Also a few books later in the battle with Windclan he compliments Brightheart in a way that is a complete 180 from the previous interaction.
This video describe basically why I ""don't like"" Brightheart. It's not that I dislike her. It's that the writing team used her as inspiration porn before throwing her away once they were done. And I hate when disabled people are used as inspirational stories.
i feel that, im disabled and i wish we could see ourselves in regular characters. not all disabilities have to be some heroic arcs, some characters can just exist and live a life among everyone else
In my fanfics I have several dis baked cats. Mossflower is injured when a flaming branch falls on her upper back, leaving a really back burn scar across her shoulders that limits the range of mobility for her front legs. She willingly retires despite only having just been made a warrior a few moons prior and having just been given her first apprentice. Her apprentice, Sandypaw, is a trans tom and only his mother, Larchstar, Robinpaw, and Mossflower show any acceptance of this. He refuses to listen to his new mentor and simply goes off on his own, which is bad because he was literally only apprenticed less than a moon prior, he barely has a grasp of basic battle skills and SkyClan is being extremely antagonistic to ThunderClan. Robinpaw was about to become a warrior when The Clan’s deputy was killed and Larchstar was abducted by twolegs. He begs Mossflower to at least let him help her train Sandypaw since he was fully trained, he just didn’t have a warrior name yet. She agrees when she realizes what kind of danger Sandypaw is putting himself in. Since she can’t move her front legs right to demonstrate moves and stances, she tells Sandypaw what she’s teaching him and explains it while Robinpaw demonstrates. While out hunting one day, they meet a loner named Rosie. And Rosie is a tripod. She was born a kittypet and had a deformed leg that caused her mobility issues, so the twolegs removed it. She is taken into ThunderClan and helps Mossflower learn how to work with her disability and realearn how to hunt and fight. Mossflower starts to take a leadership position when she sees the medicine cat struggling to hold ThunderClan together without Larchstar. She’s better able to cope with the natural pain that comes from working her injury so much as she trains both herself and Sandypaw because the time she spends putting patrols together is time that she’s resting. She helps ThunderClan prepare for an attack from the joined forces of SkyClan and RiverClan and Larchstar returns in the middle of the battle with Twolegplace cats he gathered on his way home. When the medicine cat tells him how Mossflower kept ThunderClan from falling apart, he asks her to be his deputy- because she’s proven to be as strong and capable as she was before her injury, but also because the idea of a young cat “wasting away” in the elders den like she had been never sat right with him. He also pointed out how she had shown how she can still do her warrior duties if she had the time to rest when needed and being deputy has been shown to give her that time. She agrees to be his new deputy and stops Rosie before she leaves, asking her to stay in ThunderClan with her as she “really like her.” Rosie gets the hint and chooses to stay. They become mates and in the arc that follows Larchstar and Mossflower’s story, they have kits with the “help” of Mossflower’s brother, Pineberry. The third character becomes ShadowClan’s leader. She’s a trans she-cat named Flamestorm/star. She’s born with all 4 legs, but when (as an apprentice) she learns she’s part of a big prophecy, she goes into Twolegplace alone to confront the group of rogues that had been terrorizing the Clans since before she was born. She’s attacked by them and one of them badly injures her front leg. Twolegs save her and take her to the vet, where her leg has to be amputated. She escapes when the surgery site is mostly healed and returns to ShadowClan. She spends days in the medicine cat den, depressed as she thinks her life as a warrior is over. Her brother’s quirkiness, best friend’s kindness, and sister’s love drama fail to cheer her up, so her her mentor, Darkfire, goes to ThunderClan and begs Rosie to help him help Flamepaw. Rosie agrees and goes back to ShadowClan with him. Darkfire is known as a proud and serious warrior. Rosie tells him he needs to learn what she’ll have to struggle with to be able to help her. So she ties one of his legs to his body with vines and has him do basic things- stand up from a sitting/laying position, walk forward, make a small pounce, sit/lay down, things that come naturally but need to be done differently when a cat loses a leg. Flamepaw sees her mentor “making a fool of himself” just to help her and it encourages her to at least try one more time before giving up. With Rosie’s help, Flamepaw becomes the fastest, strongest cat in ShadowClan. Hawkstar recognizes her how strong and brave she is by naming her Flamestorm (a reference to the song Stronger Than My Storm by Citizen Soldier) and when his deputy dies, he names Flamestorm the new one because she is a resilient and courageous warrior. When he’s on his last life, he steps down as leader to retire and spend it with his family. Flamestorm becomes Flamestar and helps the prophecy cats get rid of the group of Twolegplace rogues that hurt her. The leader of those rogues also has a lame hind leg. WindClan’s leader injured him like that so he would be less of a threat but it only made him stronger once her overcame it.
I hate Cinderpelt, just a Brightheart copy, who actually got special treatment!!! I wish Brightheart got better treatment. Also why are both sisters injured anyway? To get an excuse for a medicine cat?
BrightHeart deserved the world to be honest Brightheart's injury made her a strong character. BrightHeart is a huge inspiration for me since I have trouble seeing out of my left eye as well as a scar over it which I'm severely judged for an I kinda understand Brightheart but I wish CloudTail hadn't been so stupid she would have made a great Leader so I wish she was a Leader my guess is the writting committee didn't want her to over show FireStar Since FireStar was our first cat
fun fact cats don't need their eyes a fully blind cat can know where a mouse is with their whiskers so Jayfeather would most likely be a better hunter than most cats since he would focus on hearing not sight I dislike how people think of cats as people
Tbh, squirrelstar- I mean flight, also deserves so much more. She deserves leader and bramblebitch- I mean star, should go to the deepest pit of cat hell
4:30 my headcannon is that Cloudtail just wanted to be Daisys friend because he reminds him of Princess and that there was no attraction at least on his part
This changed my view on Brightheart forever. She really got screwed over recently and I felt bad for her every time I read Sky! Tbh, she should’ve been Bramblestar’s deputy because she clearly would’ve helped Bramblestar more than Squirrelflight is doing. Because at this point, she’s pestering poor Bramblestar after everything he went through in the last arc. Brightheart needs to be leader. Who’s with me?
You two have inspired me. I love brightheart and I was sad when I heard she just ended up retiring without doing anything too meaningful so im writing a Brightstar AU snippet! I'm not caught up on the books but idc I'm doing
Many fans, no matter how long they’ve been a fan or read the books, forget that Brightheart and Cinderpelt are sisters. Both kits of Frostfur. Unfortunately, it isn’t much shown of the two’s relationship nor show any to nothing of the two bonding over their injuries and trauma. We have had Violetshine and Twigbranch and Dovesong and Ivypool but no Cinderpelt and Brightheart which I find odd Sorry for my bad grammar-
11:39 levelheaded or pacifist? That’s the question… not that I’m hating on brightheart she is a great character but I just don’t agree that she should have been leader.
Hi Akira! I just wanted to let you know how much I love and appreciate your content and analysis. Your voice is very calming and I always love your videos. Thank you.
I also think Briarlight was treated poorly by the writing team - she was given a lot of time and dedicated book space, and yes a very important tale about mental health and self-worth - but I would have like to see more about her overcoming her injuries like Brightheart. I understand that for hunting and fighting, loosing the use of the back legs was very serious but I m upset that the writers didn't even TRY. Thunderclan seemed to have written her off as useless, always hiding her with the kits at serious battles. There seemed to be so many refrences to her training with the mossball with Jayfeather to keep her fit, as well as her incredible upper body strength as a result of her injury. I always thought that these references were leading up to her finding some innovative fighting moves like Brightheart did - so that she could at least go out of camp and explore the territory and be able to defend herself - even if gooing to battle would never be a reality for her. But no, she was confined to camp duties for her whole life and never left camp unsupervised. Poor Briarlight and Brightheart, they deserved so much better.
Like, seriously. I mean, have you seen cats with only 3 or 2working legs? It barely does anything to stop them. I’ve seen videos of cats with those disabilities and they are still fast movers. Yeah, they walk and run a bit differently but they find ways to make like a normal cat. So not only was this treating her poorly, it was downright insulting. I get she would’ve had a really hard time in battles and hunting. But she could develop her own techniques and strategies. She could have made it as a warrior, albeit with struggles. But I feel like having her live life fully and still figure out her every day life with some differences than her siblings would be interesting to see. Then Millie suggests that keeping her alive was prolonging her suffering…. Like WHAT?! Now, I understand death with dignity and if someone who’s terminally ill decides that for themselves to cut their suffering short, that’s their choice and all the power to them. But that’s THEIR choice. Millie making that choice for Briarlight is just wrong. She’s sound of mind and so saying that and trying to get Jayfeather to stop is taking away Briarlight’s autonomy. Oh and then there’s in Starclan. In Squirrelflight’s hope, when she wants to return to thunderclan and not stay in Starclan, Sandstorm tries to tell her not to, saying her body was badly injured, saying something along the lines of “you could end up like briarlight. Do you want your life to be ruined like that.” And that bramblestar might want a new deputy or mate. And that was honestly disgusting. Briarlight’s life was harder, I get it. But straight up saying her life was ruined was an overstep. And saying Bramblestar might leave Squirrelflight over it?! (Although, in my opinion, the two definitely need to break up, I just think that saying that was disgusting on Sandstorm’s part) like…. WOW! Briarlight was treated quite atrociously IMO
@@Thewavedemonjackal yes! I've seem so many cats with only 3 legs or only 2 legs like briarlight and they're FAST and AGILE and whilst I've only seen videos of domesticated cats they can still 'play' hunt/fight quite successfully. Yes it would have taken time for her to get use to it and wouldn't be able to have kits but I would have LOVED to read pages dedicated to such character development and her adapting and overcoming her disability. (I'm still hoping that she will get a manga or novella or POV story one day where it could be explored more). Otherwise her life for her clan has been sorting herbs and babysitting kits which frankly seemed unnecessary with 2 medicine cats and a full-time nursery queens. I always felt that Thunderclan let her do those jobs sometimes out of pity which is insulting.
@@robynluffman6430 agreed! And it’s literally why they gave her the jobs! Because she she said she felt like a burden to the point of starving herself cuz she didn’t want to take fresh kill from the elders, the mothers and kits and cats that do hunt and fight. So Jayfeather gave her some small jobs just so she wouldn’t starve herself. I’m not saying he shoulda said “get over it”. Like, he made a step in the right direction. But that was one step. He should’ve maybe, I dunno, readjusted her exercise routines to increase her strength and mobility and then recommend her to either another mentor to help her adjust some new techniques or tried to keep her under observation while she does her warrior tasks until they feel she’s adapted enough to be a normal warrior. I feel like that would’ve been incredible. Like, she’s still disabled and there’s never gonna be fixing that in life. But she can still find ways to compensate for her shortcomings….. yeah, I realise now that thunderclan is incredibly ableist. Windclan had a deputy with a crippled leg, like cinderpelt. Riverclan had a leader with a broken jaw. Actually, considering how he taught crookedkit how to eat, doesn’t it say a lot that a LONER helped in Crookedkit’s rehabilitation more than his clanmates did? Than his mother did? I get it’s cuz he had a friend that had a similar injury. But that cat still managed. And then Heatherstar (I think) renaming hopkit to deadpaw. I mean the name hopkit is still… iffy. But it’s a sorta endearing name. But deadpaw?! Sparrowpelt getting renamed to halftail and then retiring? I mean, he decides to retire (I think?) but halftail?! Really? And there are other half tailed cats that lose their tail but still make the best of it…… Yeah…. The clans are pretty ableist now I’m looking at it
@@Thewavedemonjackal yes! I guess all the clans are a bit ableist but I still think Thunderclan is the worst. Poor halftail, at least with Finleap in Skyclan he made a deal out of his training being more difficult with only half a tail - I don't remember Thunderclan giving Berrynose the same development but they still both were warriors. As far as I remember, Skyclan is actually very open-minded about things, like Tree had a new role invented for him simply because he didn't want to be warrior. Perhaps, they've not been around long enough to have many disabled cats but I would be intrigued to see whether they would be treated any better in Skyclan
@@robynluffman6430 Yeah. Skyclan was away from the other clans. Invited kittypets as daylight warriors. Let Tree have his own role. Skyclan is definitely the most open minded and “modern” clan. The examples of windclan and riverclan were bad but at least their disabled cats made it work. And then Thunderclan. Oooooh Thunderclan. Oh boy, what a place. Berrynose made it work cuz he was only tiny when he lost his tail. But damn. The other cats who got crippled, I feel for them. Especially cinderpelt. I don’t think her and fireheart would’ve worked out IMHO. But that does not mean that she couldn’t have found love elsewhere. It’s not just not being allowed to fight and hunt for their clan. But if a cat gets wounded and has to be a medicine cat, or in jayfeather’s case or Snowkit’s case, cats that were born disabled so really don’t have a future in their clan outside of being a medicine cat (which is just…. Woooow.) then that means they aren’t ever allowed to find love. It’s one thing for medicine cats to make the choice but in these cases, The choice is made for them. Because they got injured or were born differently, they are no longer allowed to find love. And that’s horrible
Thank you so much for having me! The video turned out great, I'm so happy that I was a part of it! ! ❤It was a blast discussing warriors with you, and we can all agree that Brightheart deserves all the love and more!❤❤❤

Yeah but the fack than she gives Brakenfur the most generic and boring character from the First arc protagonism is something than bother

Btw not hating I do love brightheart to
someone needs to write an AU where Brightheart becomes leader instead of Bramblestar
Might do it soon :) (late)
@@Sw33tT4rt I'd love to see it!
It already exists, read Paws of Stars by Sunnyfall. It’s a rewrite of power of three/omen of the stars, and Brightheart becomes leader at the end
I don’t understand who could not love Brightheart, I definitely agree she deserved better.
The only part I dislike about her is the Erins. She deserves at least twice as much love as every other character gets
I dont like her. Idk why,i just dont.
@@coufirr Why??
@@Bubblesa idk .she's not an interesting character, she's basically nothing but cat
@@coufirr Yes but she should still be loved even as a background character or side one plus she's special
Brightheart will always be one of my favorite cats. Nice video! :)
Ok I know I’m a bit late but I sooooooo agree
She basically went into depression when Swiftpaw died. WHAT!?!? WHAT!?
Also we need Brightheart’s Soul one day
As someone who is apart of the disabled community it really hurt to read about how some of the cats with disabilities were treated.
I haven’t even watch the vid yet but I saw the title and thumbnail and just fully shouted “you are SO RIGHT. SO RIGHT.”❤
The other clans have very few disabled cats but I think when they appear they are still treated more fairly than they are in Thunderclan.
I’m glad we are getting a comic book about her and Cloudtail at least!😻
I recently finished reading A Dangerous Path and halfway through The Darkest hour, and i agree that brightheart for sure deserved more. The fact Cloudtail was so close and defensive for her, as well as brightheart having being brought on a curse after her injury response the Bluestar being angry and traumatized with both Tigerclaw and Starclan, mainly bringing the wrath for starclan with a cursed name, LostFace.
Bright heart would have been ten times the leader bramble star was
Brightheart is my friends favorite character, I agree she’s a great character!
Poke calling Jayfeather a baby gremlin gives me life-
I agree, definitely deserved starclan’s support for brightSTAR
If Brightheart became Brightstar, than Swiftpaw would’ve given her a life.
omg yes
Prob bravery
Ya know, I kinda wish she had been a deputy atleast! She rlly was a amazing character and altho I haven't read the newer books, I truly had hoped we gotten more out of her ya know?
I’m really glad they made her a warrior. It would be so like warrior cats to force her to retire. As the owner of a cat who is also half blind I think she definitely could handle herself in a fight.
As for Bluestar I felt she was never the best cat to begin with, even before her downhill spiral. (Apologies if that sounded offensive.)
I always thought Bluestar was a fun character but never really liked her as a person.
I hated it when she called Brokenstar out for apprenticing underage kits only to turn around and do the same for Cinderpelt and Brakenfur. Especially since she left their two siblings behind in the nursery.
For me as a Brightheart lover, this is awesome
I read this as “for me as brighhearts lover ”
@@marthahelenrose5158 Lol. (Sorry for the late reply)
Now I’m disappointed Brightheart wasn’t made leader, she probably would have been a better leader than Bramblestar by a long shot.
Brightheart has always been incredibly special to me. In the part of the video talking of Bluestar, I kind of found it hard to swallow how much she denied and put aside her clan until the last little moment.
I would have LOVED Brightstar! It's such a cute name- and she would have earned it. Her journey was incredible and she deserved way more
Brightstar is the best idea I've ever heard! Brambleclaw just becoming deputy was not the right end to his arc anyway, you know the whole loyalty over power thing, it would have been better to keep him as a warrior anyway. Although I really like the idea of Brackenstar too. Hmm
The thumbnail hits different for me because my grandma always calls by brightheart plush brightstar lol. I think she's onto something
Yes!! ABSOLUTELY!!! Brightheart has been my favorite warriors character for years, shes always deserved so much more and did not deserve the disrespect she got from jaypaw
Bright heart will always be one of my favorite cats.
So if not Brightheart mentored Hollyleaf...
(checks)
Brackenfur? Brightheart's brother?! Okay, that's an even bigger insult.
I would LOVE if Squirrelflight became Squirrelstar and made Brightheart deputy, she would probably die of old age before she would become leader but still
half true. brightheart is an elder and the deputy is ivypool
"not only did her injury make her half blind but also UGLY" caught me off guard lmao
BRIGHTHEART NEEDS A SUPER EDITION!!!!!!!
To be honest Brightheart would've been some much better than Bramblebutt, I mean hands-down (or paws-down) would be 101% better than him in practically every single way. I sometimes question the writing team for their biases, especially because they didn't kill off or even make Bramblestar step down despite being a bad leader.
lol bramblebutt
Brightheart’s easily one of my favorite characters, I just love how she pushes through despite her disability
I really wish the writers didn’t just leave her in the dust, she had a lot of potential imo, but I’m glad she’s getting a graphic novel ^^
Brightheart! I think she deserved MUCH more! Bluestar and the Erin’s did her a bit dirty in my opinion. I wish she had more character development, after all, she was one of the best characters!
Yes! Brightheart’s story is sad, and she deserves better! Nice Akira!
Me who never read the books:... *wait cinderpelt and brightheart are sisters??*
I knew but forgot
It would have been so interesting if they delve deeper into their relationship considering they were sisters and both disabled but the writers probably forgot like they forgot that graystripes parents were siblings
Brightheart deserved her own super edition that follows her healing journey
Sad thing is that she is still waiting for apprentice
Ngl Brightheart being underutilized and forgotten about is part of why I headcanon that Holly, Jay, and Lion have a 4th sibling (perhaps dovewing, though that's iffy since it'd mean that Ivypool would not be her sister), who Brightheart mentored. (Also I was underwhelmed by the 4th cat simply being Firestar again, and Hollyleaf coming back as a badass just to die. I like to think that the prophecy about the three caused tension amongst the siblings, since they don't know who will be left out, with the 4th cat being Hollyleaf.)
Y’all are right Bright’heart should’ve been leader she knows a lot of roles and she’s respected 😀
I love your work! You are so brilliant and entertaining! Also, could I draw Akira?
With the apprentice thing I think that’s just the writers forgetting. They have so many characters and it feels like they never make notes on anything. That applies to really all the characters, disabilities or not. That’s why I wish they would have kept the character numbers low so they could properly focus on everyone but that’s also the downside of having writings pass through a bunch of different people. Stuff gets messed up because they hardly leave character notes to follow and people change things.
As someone who only has one working eye she has been a big inspiration. (Born also almost completely blind but in my left eye and it only works somewhat if I close my right. It’s extremely sensitive to light.)
I started warrior cats reading the sight and finding out that jayfeather was blind and had a disabled mentor who could understand and teach him made me feel seen.
But then they threw that away for him being a med cat.
It’s not that he couldn’t fight or hunt.
I was really sad when they never really mentioned her as much again, she lost her apprentice and never got another one.
My right eye doesn't work. If we'd ever team up, we'd be unstopable!
@@PokemonkaDub lol, YEAHHHHH
Following on from Jaypaw insulting Brightheart as his mentor. Also a few books later in the battle with Windclan he compliments Brightheart in a way that is a complete 180 from the previous interaction.
A+ character growth
1:54 in the words of blixemi: "why should o have to work twice as hard only to ever reach half as far?"
That one actually made me laugh
Bright Heart is my FAVORITE character, she was the first character I actually liked and now I’m reading series 2, book 4 and she’s still my favorite 😂
One of the first 500
They really have good points that Brightheart could’ve actually been a great leader!❤
Disabled isn't cool enough.
Somebody quick go make the Brightstar au before somebody else does >:)
I agree so much, she definitely deserves so much more
Brightstar would be a great leader with a rad name
Cuz of this video I realized Brightheart was Cinderpelts sister.. 💀💀💀
If they kill her off in the next book, I will riot (yes ik she is old but COME ON)
" sent to the elders den as a big slap in the face."
I'M CACKLING
🤣
"Lets lump all the useless cats together and hope a tree falls on them!"
ahhh Jaypaw already making prophecy's 🤗
fun fact cats don't need their eyes a fully blind cat can know where a mouse is with their whiskers so Jayfeather would most likely be a better hunter than most cats since he would focus on hearing not sight I dislike how people think of cats as people
Tbh, squirrelstar- I mean flight, also deserves so much more. She deserves leader and bramblebitch- I mean star, should go to the deepest pit of cat hell
Bright heart deserved to be leader hundreds of times more than BrambleBitvh
its shocking firestar didnt made brightheart have another apprentice after she lost jay feather.
Brightheart really deserved better! She is incredible!
Warrior cats needs a what if series where they pull out thins warrior fans have always wanted to see, like Brightstar!!
4:30 my headcannon is that Cloudtail just wanted to be Daisys friend because he reminds him of Princess and that there was no attraction at least on his part
I didn't know cinderpelt was her sister!😳😳
I’ve been saying for a long time that Brambleclaw should have stepped down as deputy after the events of Sunset…
Brightstar would have been huge, but we can't have good things unfortunately
We need a Brightstar AU if anybody would be willing to right it as I don't fully trust myself to right it honestly

We have had Violetshine and Twigbranch and Dovesong and Ivypool but no Cinderpelt and Brightheart which I find odd
Sorry for my bad grammar-
Pssssst if you wanna see Brightheart as deputy read Paws of Stars by Sunnyfall 👀
my eyes are fine and I still have horrible depth perception 💀
11:39 levelheaded or pacifist? That’s the question… not that I’m hating on brightheart she is a great character but I just don’t agree that she should have been leader.
Woohoo! Another Akira vid!
Hi Akira! I just wanted to let you know how much I love and appreciate your content and analysis. Your voice is very calming and I always love your videos. Thank you.
34 SECS AGO HELP IM TOO EARLY-
I also think Briarlight was treated poorly by the writing team - she was given a lot of time and dedicated book space, and yes a very important tale about mental health and self-worth - but I would have like to see more about her overcoming her injuries like Brightheart.
Really? And there are other half tailed cats that lose their tail but still make the best of it……
Yeah….
Who here loves brightheart and secretly has a au written somewhere how swift paw lived and became her mate instead?
I honestly love brightheart ! I also love swiftpaw and others:)
Don't even have to watch the video and I already agree.
I am also watching the video though.
I have two friends that are blind out of one eye
I agree with all of these
