@sacramentoregionaltransit7384 Good that SacRT's new Siemens S700 light rails it purchases will start replacing the old ones and have better access than the stairs. The only downside is that SacRT didn't solve how to have the new light rail trains into a four-car train to fit in the downtown area stations and will only be a three-car train now. I thought SacRT and the state said, "to go green." However, they failed on this part by reducing one car out. They are the same length as the UTDC cars SacRT purchased from Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. The UTDC cars were already problematic during rush hours before the pandemic Covid hit and withdrew in 2020. I had experienced waiting for the next or two next trains because the UTDC light rail three-car was so jammed and crowded during rush hours many times. The CAF and Siemens U2A cars only did better because it was a four-car about one-fourth length longer than a UTDC three-car. That was the difference between them.

If RT wants us to use them and be green, they need to make it so we can get our e-bikes on and off easy instead of impossible!!!

Right. They need to actually keep up with the cleaning through out the day. The buses hella a stick so bad you can't breath and light rail stick they seriously need to make sanitizing a top priority and cleaning .. I will not be using them very gross and unhealthy. Last time I got on it it was all pee I couldn't breath and many other times all kinds of shit so hell naw for me. To expensive should be much cheaper

It looks like half the seats as before? 12 at each end, 18 in the middle? Those 30+ minutes standing the whole time are not going to encourage people to ride. One week of that and they will find another way. Or is it a bring your own seat situation?

They're not trains. They're glaciers that look like trains. Sacramento light rail is a snail job of an excuse for mass transit.

Hi I am not from sacramento but from central california, just curious, what are your main concerns and complaints with this system? (I am doing a school essay on us public transit and want to hear opinions from people).

@@ReadyRedPanda I used to live in Sac and took the lightrail often to work in order to save on gas.... Sacramentos lightrail leaves so much to be desired. First of all, none of the train stations are fenced with turnstiles. Meaning anybody can just walk right onto a train without a pass or ticket. 2nd: ticket inspectors do exist but there aren't enough to cover every single car in every single train, meaning it's easy to car hop to avoid them. There needs to be more lines built as many of the existing ones are very limited. Unless you live along 99 or 50, you're far away from any station to even consider utilizing the light rail. Don't get me wrong, for a mid size city like Sacramento, it's great that they even have a lightrail system to begin with... but they need to seriously invest more into improving it otherwise it's gonna continue to hemorrhage money and be useless to the majority of sacramento residents.

@@knucklehoagies yeah my local vta light rail in san jose also has the same problem where a lot of the stations have barely anything around it. Some have a ton of TODs, others have an empty parking lot and are in the median of a freeway
