    • @sandramcnamara9057
      @sandramcnamara9057 5 лет назад +18

      He can't leave the airport by law because he's stateless and is not listed as a refugee. Also he has approximately 500,000+ dollars in the bank because of his book rights also money passengers give him because of his story Tom Hanks played in the movie 'the terminal.' or something like that also his fathers inheritance that he can't get because of his state status. Homeless people don't have an address but you could say his address is the airport because the airport has a post office within it for passengers.A nice warm airport with a place to sleep seems nice to me in comparison to a cardboard box in the rain. Governments are crazy when you think this man has been like this for almost 2 decades. like prison sentence rather than homeless. At least a homeless dude can be free to go wherever they want and ask for help from homeless charities but this guy didn't need charity he had money it's just the legal security problems that make him airport bound for almost 20 years.

    • @tzermonkey
      @tzermonkey 3 года назад +1

      It's all BS, this guy had an opportunity to get asylum in Belgium and did nothing. He is homeless and does not engage in any of his resources. You'd be surprised how many homeless actually have resources, they just don't engage in them. I've worked with them. This is why we need asylums for the non-addicted. Not to mention that his country does nothing for him.

      As an Persian
      He couldn’t get back to Iran because Iran was in the midst of a revolution and the people were fighting against the Shah of Iran, who realized after many years that they had made the biggest mistake and wanted the Pahlavi family to return to Iran, and he couldn’t back because Iran was not a real country for a while and after that it entered into a war with Iraq and that war lasted for 8 years, so he couldn’t go out of the airport or back home, And he wanted to fulfill the promise he made to his father, which was to get an autograph from the last member of that band and put it in a can of peanut butter.

He was hospitalized for several months, then moved to a half-way house. There is very little about him after that. But he had plenty of money to buy a little place and live.
