Yes, cause I have always wondered with the amount of complexity in the cover, audio, and images. There’s no way aliens would understand, for example the morse code and binary, these systems are created by us for us, so aliens would definitely not understand what the lines are on the cover. Another thing is even if they do understand, the units such as minutes and hours, are both based on the Earth, something aliens don’t have so how would they understand.

I wonder if aliens would even have the concept of music as we know it, or if they would think our Golden Record is just a collection of strange noises.

The only way I can think of that they wouldn't attempt that is if it was to crash land on a planet many thousands or millions of years later, in which case it would be completely destroyed anyway, so nothing to decode. The voyager is so.... human. The whole decode thinking is so human
@@SauronTheDarkLordOfMordor No the whole decode thinking is just intelligent thinking. For one if a alien species was to find the voyager, they would already know it is coming from an alien race compared to them. So they will have at least 2 thought processes. One is to figure out its purpose, i.e. decode it. Two is to figure out where it came from, i.e. decode it. Either way they will decode it. The only way I can think of that they wouldn't attempt that is if it was to crash land on a planet many thousands or millions of years later, in which case it would be completely destroyed anyway, so nothing to decode. That or they wouldn't attempt to decode it if they were not intelligent enough to understand its alien origin.
