Come si fa a non commuoversi ascoltando "Gelido in ogni vena"? Questa aria è un piccolo grande capolavoro, una delle più belle perle di cui sono disseminate le opere di Vinci, vero genio della musica vocale di tutti i tempi. Si capisce come il rivale Porpora fosse roso dall'invidia verso Vinci! Sentando musiche come queste direbbe: "Basta, mi arrendo. Non arriverò mai a comporre musica così bella!" E Fagioli di queste meraviglie è formidabile e insuperabile interprete.
How can you not get emotional listening to " Gelido in ogni vena "? This aria is a great little masterpiece, one of the most beautiful pearls scattered throughout the operas of Vinci, a true genius of vocal music of all time. It is clear how his rival Porpora was consumed with envy towards Vinci! Hearing music like this he would say: "Enough, I give up. I will never be able to compose such beautiful music!" And Fagioli is a formidable and unsurpassed interpreter of these wonders.

I have left comments before regarding both parts 2 and 2 of this superb concert.
Franco and Armonia Atenea are perfect as always.
One cannot fail to see the enthusiasm of the pretty blonde violinist; she is totally carried away by the whole spectacle.
I have noted that in subsequent concerts she appears far more subdued? Just an observation.
Anyway I still get the greatest pleasure watching this Gala Vinci concert and ALL baroque productions on a daily basis. TV is on baroque from RUclips daily.

The screeching top notes, labored and forced and covered middle register, the face-pulling, and the generally “forced” quality of this voice is difficult to watch and not easy to listen to. Not for me this.
