  • In this challenge I must beat the game while also buy and/or pick up every piece of game in the game. I also must get rid of my older gear as I get new stuff. So I often times give up old better weapons/armor for much worse items.

Hey I’m gonna go against the previous comments:
Don’t play the knock offs! Stay true to the classic! You are the only one left I watch!
Having said that I can’t wrap my head around what gear cycling is but I was excited to see a white mage in the group. Rare!

@@jsteen84 I have to replace my gear with all of the new stuff that I pick up no matter how bad it is. I walk into the final dungeon with cloth on my knight because it's in the top of sky Castle.

@@shanezellso forced pickups… how did you set timing on town purchases? Must grind and buy right away?

@jsteen84 I have to purchase every weapon in order on the shop list followed by armor. I must buy them before picking up any spells or items.

5:02:41 On the subject of bugs in the NES version (I think I may have asked this before), do you think that having the other buff spells (Temper and Saber) working correctly but with an on-off value like Haste (so they don't stack) would still make bosses too easy? On that note, do you think that the increasing the HP of the Fiends would counter balance the presence of the buffs?

@@Zanketsune The fiends having more HP doesn't change how the fights work for any party setup on most situations. The normal fight is buff evasion, swing till boss dies. More HP would just take a bit longer and you might take a bit more damage...I don't see that making it much harder. One cast of temper is the equivalent of 28 levels of strength gain, saber is 32 levels. In the games code there is no way of capping your value of stat gains so that would be really hard to implement. I also think it would still be very powerful in the last couple fights but overall hardly change much.

Have you ever played the FF Randomizer? Wildest version of the game I’ve ever seen.

I don't have much interest in the randomizer. I play a lot of the base game and I'm currently trying to better world records. If I play randomizer it will ruin my muscle memory for the base game with everything being sped up and "bugs fixed"

Have you ever tried the final fantasy renaissance? I think you would do great with all the knowledge you got

I have played it a little bit and I have to say that it isn't for me. The game plays much differently and timing is not the same as the NES. I speedrun this game daily...I can't work with so many little things being off of the base game. It hurts my muscle memory for trying to better world record runs.

A man came up to me the other day and kept repeating "I'm a teepee! I'm a wigwam! I'm a teepee! I'm a wigwam!"
I told him "Relax! You're two tents!"

Sweet thinking! Could you try to make a speed run without opening any none essential chests? Including the tail!
