I bought this in 1966 and after all these years Bill Wyman's bass still sends a tingle up and down my spine.
In the 60’s Husbands had their 3 Martini lunches to take the weight of the day off and the Wives/Mother’s had their mommy’s little helpers to.get through the day
When the mothers of the youngsters heard this song in 1966 they cheered the Rolling Stones - "How right you are!"
Mother is taking Valium and amphetamines..to get here through the day. Besides the great lyrics, Brian Jones on the Satiar ( before the Beatles used it) really makes the song. One of my favorite Stones songs. This and Get Off My Cloud.
A early classic!!
You called it alright! 💊🧹🪠💉💊Great request & reaction!
The Stones have so much timeless music it's crazy. This was a Top 10 Pop hit from 1966. Great lyrics about Valium pills alot of Mothers were using in the 60z to deal with the "Stress" of being a housewife. Great reaction J!
Good call on guessing the subject matter before you heard it. I like the twangy, eastern sounding guitar on this. I thought it was a sitar but have read that it's a 12 string.
Your about the onky one covering the more obscure stones songs. How about reacting to their song heartbreaker? Great song that’s still relevant today.
He did that one a while back. It's Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker). He didn't have the lyrics up so I think he missed "Police in New York City chased a boy right through the park. In a case of mistaken identity. They put a bullet through his heart" lyrics.
Thanks for covering this one. Not as well known as other Stones songs, but a good one. As you guessed, it’s about prescription pills, uppers and downers, helping bored suburban housewives get through their miserable days and nights.
I was so oblivious to how people were living back in the day. I think I was like 35-36 when I excitedly told my mom that I finally figured out what this song was about. She looked at me like I'd just told her I finally discovered the sky was blue lol. Not my finest moment
And in the last verse. She overdoses
Going back into the the archives. Thanks Jammin'.
I always loved that opening line. "What a drag it is getting old." Funny that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are pushing 80 now.
Way to call it up front! Believe it or not, this was from 1966.
One of their best. Check out Paint it Black, Lady Jane, Under My Thumb, 19th Nervous Breakdown.
That song is in Mafia 3. I started dancing very wild, when heard that on in-game radio😂
Valium and amphetamines were popular prescribed meds for suburban mothers in the 60’s
Doctors prescribed them like giving out candy back then
I have Xanax but would love some Valium! 😁
Its about Adderall... 💯 and Valium. Backing the day, they prescribed it as "Diet Pills" and "Sleeping Pills"...
It's giving me PSYCHEDELIC VIBES......... ACID VIBES..... The colors of the RAINBOW 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈. I got high just watching this video.......
Valium been larged used in 60's 70's
valium is the little yellow pill
