Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"
Jon Batiste, from various interviews I've come across and the WAY he plays his music and inspires others around him -- not only the musicians -- is a great, big dose of JOY! ... just what the doctor prescribed for this day and age, to keep us sane and moving in the right direction.
They say smiles and laughter are good for you. Being in Jon Batiste & Stay Human's orbit might just be the key to immortality. Pure condensed joy!

This truly deserves to be recorded in a better audio quality!
Well hey man they actually took audio from the mics and stuff because it is pretty well balanced. The other ones were recorded with just one mic on the camera so it wasn't as balanced.
man I wish I could enjoy something in life as much as Jon envoys playing and just anything to do with music; what a lucky guy!

Jesuds X Cristmas, a big part of the point, as well as the charm, of these extemporaneous productions is that they are NOT rehearsed or prepared for. Your wish for "a proper Camera and Sound Setup" implies exactly the forethought and planning that kills the idea of these pieces.
The only thing stopping that right now is that it was "livestreamed." No reason somebody couldn't have a good DSLR recording with a good external mic.
Dude, does asking for them to use the same equipment they have lying around for the late show suddenly make this "rehearsed"? They could literally just point the camera toward the band after the show and it would be the same thing.
Mr. Tulip sound setup wasn't very well. And funny enough, in the background dynamic screen its money that's flying around .... Lol

I’m now kicking myself for not knowing about Maddie Rice sooner. Gorgeous and talented and now she’s in the other best late night band, SNL! she’s going to be around a long time. One question though. Why are they playing God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen in September? Great job Jon and crew.
She's wasted in the SNL band. They need to have the sax player take a back seat. Sick of the sax on that show. Lorne should either let Maddie lead the SNL band like GE Smith did, or have Maddie pick her own band and replace Seth Meyers band. That show really needs a a new band sound.
