Man, Jon, I don't know if you'll read this, I got a lot of problems, but having legs ain't one of them. You guys give me morale on the daily. Thank you, and thanks to your friends for all of your sincere work for the people. Keep on rocking, brothers in time
I keep going back to this time after time--never get tired of it--so cool. He's sending a message that in light of what's been happening in our country might seem naive, but he knows what he's singing about. It's our only salvation.
Love this! Love how Jon sings, and how he plays that melodica. Loved all the instrumentalists. And I think I'll try that way of holding the tambourine, too!
No studio, no special lighting, tons of equipment.... This is the very heartbeat, rhythm, and soul of sound. I'm not saying you can't do it with the other stuff because you can find and create there too. Still there's always something special, thrilling, something a bit more inside of live art and instrumentation.
This was my favorite thing about their concerts in Harlem (before they were known). One minute you were at a simple concert in the back of a church, and before you knew what happened you were marching down the street singing and dancing!

What makes all these NPR recording so extra special is how good everybody is micd up!!

Well done, JB, Stay Human, and, as always, NPR Sound Engineers.
Brilliant, adorable and life giving. Thank you!

Que música, excelente.
I came for the melodica, I stayed for Borat playing the saxophone.

Stayed for the cowbell!
JAMISON! The original "Chops" drummer. Man this guy is making it.
Perfect sound, so natural. What gear was used to record these musicians ?
Where can I find this song? They do such a great job with it in this recording
I ♥️ Jon Batiste.
Oh so good!! Anyone who thumbs downed this has issues. Amazing soul here in this music!! ♡
The cowboy with the tambourine is everything
ANTOINE COSTON trying to figure if he's creole or cajun, for a friend. Lol
marie watson his names Joe Saylor
This is oddly endearing. :)
Come through New Orleans, wherever you are!
The light in a dark tunnel...
This makes me smile! :D
Amazing
That yellow suit though!!
Oh!
So good.
Awesome :)
Made my new years day
Too bad this is not available in Spotify anymore. Can't even find a way to buy this single. I love this song so much
Show de bola música muito boa
literally double bass!!!
Muito bom...
They started walking off… and homeboy with the standing bass was like (uhhh, fck 🤦🏾♂️) 😂😂🤦🏾♂️
I'm late for work now, thanks guys. 😂
Interesting using both bass and tuba
ti voglio bene
I liked when he played the piano-flute. That was good!
+T Stanton it's called melodica. One of my favourite instrument!
+seyfoide89 good to know!! Thank you. It's an awesome instrument!
+T Stanton It's actually called face piano
+Misael Perez never heard of it.
+T Stanton It's a Melodica, and the first one who give it importance in music was Augustus Pablo, a reggae legend!
thank god someone is actually using the melodica to make music instead of video game covers
Hahaha 🤣 It's normally used in reggae music, but nerds have turned it into a "portable piano" to play Mario on smh. Ukulele syndrome...
very good bro xx
❤❤
Lmao Jon Baptiste on the one Thundercat performance was so hilarious I recommend everyone watch it
Outdoor/indoor NPR IS GRT
this version is way better than the album recording
What album does this appear?
Muy bueno !!! Lástima el traje amarillo"
He should go to NPR tiny desk!
NPR you need to get the "P" out in the final screen shot. It is Batiste not Baptiste.
❤️🌻♾️
Is there an album with this song on it? Anyone? I love this. And the whole love riot thing too. Spreading love and all that.
Wow. That's all I can say.
Is it just me or did they spell batiste wrong in the thumbnail?
More cowbell!
1:33 I've been a music student for five years and I don't think I've ever seen such an instrument. Is that just a complexly designed harmonica?
Can't find this song on iTunes.
Reminds me a bit of Raphael Saddiq
is there no recording of this song aside from this video?
Wassup family, I'm a huge fan of Jon and I didn't find that song on google, I've been studyin' English for a while and I dared to write this song listening to this vid, could you please check whether is right ?
