I just use baking soda. Put baking soda in the tank and bowl. Let it sit a bit, but I usually do it at night when nobody is going to use the toilet. When I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, I flushed the toilet and the baking soda filtered from the tank, through the holes to the tank. Nope - baking soda does absolutely nothing to calcium deposits, chemically (although it can be used as a *very* mild abrasive). I got this info from a plumbing contractor years ago. He said, and I quote “do not use a brush it will scratch the porcelain but a pumice will not. Reason is a brush doesn’t fall away like the pieces of a pumice. Just make sure u keep the pumice very wet”. I have used this for about 50 years and I have never had to replace a toilet because of damage. Nothing worse then a dirty toilet!!!!!!!
pumice stone does not scratch the porcelain, even the county schools use it on their toilets and I use it at home also, it is not a hard stone, it is airy and crumbles but works perfect.
For those persisting water stains, try to use special magnets in the water tank. Not only prevent new salt crystals grow (which cause the dirty) but also vanish the existed ones. I use them for over 20 years and I also use magnetic balls for the washing machine, without replace them till now. There are also special magnets for the central pipe, protecting all taps and pipes in the house.

Great video. I love the Pumie and need to try harder with the vertical stains in the very back of the bowl. You did all that while recording - takes skills! ;) I love your positive and light-hearted energy. Subbed!
I used this on my last toilet and although it did work it made the stain larger and worse over time removing the top layer. I had to replace my toilet...
Yes! It damages! My housekeeper took such pride in her expert tips and tricks and caused permanent damage. Even with water softeners, we had a colorless, hard water ring around the water line. At first I was impressed when she showed me her trick with this scouring stick/pumice stone, but then I realized it was scratching and wearing the finish off a little at a time. Sadly someone on her team also took it to my bathroom sink to remove some hard water spots and it destroyed the shiny finish on my sink. I was so bummed, and I agree with the many commenters that mentioned don’t do it on newer toilets or sinks. My house was built in 2013 (if that helps for reference) and had fixtures ruined with this scouring stick. I do agree with the Kaboom commenter! That stuff worked amazing with little to no extra effort!!!
Awesome, this is how I clean mine too! As a side note, because it worked so great on my toilet this stick is the same one I use on my oven grates. It didn't scratch my stove grates either. Well technically speaking it's not the "same" one. I used two different ones for my toilet and my stove🤣. Just wanted to clarify that... 😆
Kaboom toilet bowl cleaner is the best I have ever found. It isn't the foam blaster one. It is the purple liquid that you squirt under the rim. It takes all the rings off easily. It can be hard to find now. I usually order it from Walmart to be mailed to me. It's that good that I go out of my way to find it. Not sure why it isn't more well known!
I poured white vinegar in my toilet tank, flushed and it removed horrible water stains. Its been over 6 months they have not returned. I used to spend 30 to 45 mins scrubbing toilet with vinegar and baking soda just to have stains come back worse a few weeks later.
She is absolutely correct. Chemicals do not work on hard water deposits. Hers is an excellent solution, but so is 100 grit sandpaper. This deposit need to be sanded off.
We’re on a well & it has a small amount of natural lead (no, we don’t drink it or give it to the pets!💖), so we are ALWAYS fighting with the hard water streaks. I am sooo excited to see this! I’ve been TRYING to get them out with CLR, & it’s never been that clean & TAKES ME FOREVER!! I’m going to get me a couple of these sticks! One for each toity! Thank you EVER so much!!💖🥰🙏👍🏻❄️🎊🎉🤪🤗
My full bathroom toilet is clean white and used the most. My half bathroom toilet is nasty brown and rarely used. I've tried sand paper and it won't come off. Well water so I'm guessing it's the cause.
It definitely ruins the bowl after using it multiple times, just wait, I am a witness to it. I loved it at first then noticed scratching & now I have permanent water staining, going to have to replace my toilet because if it. And I used it WET of course; don't use it
That's great solution, but I wish you had shown it being used on the same toilet bowl that was shown in the thumbnail photo. That one would have taken many times more than 3 minutes to clean using the same method. The toilet bowl used for demonstration in this video had very faint staining, and virtually none up the sides compared to the darkly stained toilet bowl in the thumbnail picture.
Yes it’s a great tool. But eventually it will ruin the enamel on the toilet. It will end up scathing it. Hard water is hard to get a handle on. I’m a high school janitor and we have to use acid bowl cleaner as well as pumice stone. Then we replace them after awhile.

Great video. I love the Pumie and need to try harder with the vertical stains in the very back of the bowl. You did all that while recording - takes skills! ;) I love your positive and light-hearted energy. Subbed!
I just had to come back and tell u thank u!!! Nothing worked. Found your awesome vid and found a six pack on A for like 8$ and it worked!!
Glad I could help
Doesn't pumice scratch the enamel surface of the toilet?
I used this on my last toilet and although it did work it made the stain larger and worse over time removing the top layer. I had to replace my toilet...
Yes it does
Yes it can over time….
Yes!
What section in walmart do you find this?
Awesome, this is how I clean mine too! As a side note, because it worked so great on my toilet this stick is the same one I use on my oven grates. It didn't scratch my stove grates either. Well technically speaking it's not the "same" one. I used two different ones for my toilet and my stove🤣. Just wanted to clarify that... 😆
Lol!! I have a video coming out soon about that too 👍👍👍
Andrea Jean Cleaning Yay! 🥳
thank you for clarifying that!!!!
So how soon does the ring come back?
Your comment made me laugh! I didn't even think that until you clarified 🤪. That was funny! Thanks for the laugh!
I got some at dollar tree!
@@shaynamaewallace3797 Kaboom brand is at Dollar Tree?
@@lynboyer3004 I think I was mistaken. It starts with a" K" but I don't think it's Kaboom 🤦♀️
I poured white vinegar in my toilet tank, flushed and it removed horrible water stains. Its been over 6 months they have not returned. I used to spend 30 to 45 mins scrubbing toilet with vinegar and baking soda just to have stains come back worse a few weeks later.
Did you empty tank/bowl first or wasn’t it diluted?
Thank you so much ❤
I don't know if this stick would do anything for my very bad stained bowl. Its nasty but we haven't tried this method yet.
It does leave small scratches just fyi….
She is absolutely correct. Chemicals do not work on hard water deposits. Hers is an excellent solution, but so is 100 grit sandpaper. This deposit need to be sanded off.
Does it leave scratch on the toilet bowl??
Oh yes.
Ok, that's fantastic! I clean for a living now, and this issue drove me crazy! Tried all sorts of hacks that did nothing.
The works
That scraping sound would drive me nuts
The length of the video and the title match up perfectly
Great job... Wow! I admire your pink finger nails, your wedding ban and diamond ring shown! Ha Ha Ha!
lol thank you!
Thank you EVER so much!!💖🥰🙏👍🏻❄️🎊🎉🤪🤗
Nails on a chalk board 😖
My full bathroom toilet is clean white and used the most. My half bathroom toilet is nasty brown and rarely used. I've tried sand paper and it won't come off. Well water so I'm guessing it's the cause.
You're my hero!!! It took me less than 5 minutes to do 2 toilets and around my sinks!!
Please let us know where shall we get Scoring Stick. Of course it is nice .
Doesn’t the scouring stick scratch the porcelain?
Yes it does….
Are you sure that doesn’t ruin your toilet? I’ve used soft scrub in a toilet and it destroyed the porcelain.
Not a scratch!! Test out a small spot on your toilet to determine 👍
No it works exactly like this and never scratches the toilet. The water helps.
But you must keep it wet to avoid damage... that is the secret.
It definitely ruins the bowl after using it multiple times, just wait, I am a witness to it. I loved it at first then noticed scratching & now I have permanent water staining, going to have to replace my toilet because if it. And I used it WET of course; don't use it
Exactly what my plumber said. Worst idea ever. Gouges
If you have pumice stone rocks as landscaping, you can use that too.
omg, get out! This is crazy! I learn so much new stuff from your videos. Thanks for posting.
Lol!! I was impressed too and thank you ✨
That's great solution, but I wish you had shown it being used on the same toilet bowl that was shown in the thumbnail photo.
That one would have taken many times more than 3 minutes to clean using the same method.
The toilet bowl used for demonstration in this video had very faint staining, and virtually none up the sides compared to the darkly stained toilet bowl in the thumbnail picture.
Omg you just saved me from getting a whole ew toilet bowl lol I just couldn't figure out what to do
Thanks for the info. All that work I was doing before and the solution was a little stick
I have to say this pumice bar does work. I’ve used this for years ...
Once you’ve ground the porcelain’s protective finish into oblivion,….you can rest assured you’ll need to grind more and more for years to come. 😜
Yes it’s a great tool. But eventually it will ruin the enamel on the toilet. It will end up scathing it. Hard water is hard to get a handle on. I’m a high school janitor and we have to use acid bowl cleaner as well as pumice stone. Then we replace them after awhile.
