Thanks for posting this you literally saved my cross and chain i got some kind of oil on it and it tarnished black but now i do this every couple of weeks it keeps it nice and shiny
Does this damage the silver overtime? I just got a 925 chain and was wondering if I could shower with it and clean it like this when it tarnishes. Will repeated tarnishing and cleaning damage the jewelery?
As far as I know the tarnishing you are seeing is a layer ON TOP of the silver. So it shouldn't be doing anything to the silver itself. Srubbing will damage your silver overtime.
I’ve been showering with my huge silver chain for years! I never take it off. Real metals like gold and silver are fine to shower with. Don’t ever do it with cheap fake jewlery though!
@@philipma7185 I always polish it after I clean it with silver polish, it always comes out looking new! I’ve had it since 1995. Looks about as good as it did when I bought it
The firat time i tried this i put the baking soda in first and laid the silver on top and it didnt work at all the second time i put the silver in first then baking soda on top and it worked
Thank you so much for sharing this hack with us. It makes tarnished silvers shiny ✨
Thanks for watching 🙏💙
Worked really well, necklace looks as shiney as the day i got it
Yay I’m glad you gave it a try 🥰
@@elnazhamai silver means alloy material?
This is an ABSOLUTE W my bracelet looks brand spanking new thank you so much ❤❤️🔥
Yay thanks for letting me know 🥰
Thank you so much! It worked for me. Just after that you need to dry it with a clean towel, and rub a bit.
Does it works with alloy jewelleries?
Is the aluminium foil necesarry?
If u add a bit of white vintage also it makes a big reaction and cleans it even better and faster watch!
Pretty sure the vinegar cancels out the reaction of baking soda won't work
Vinegar's acidity will cancel out the baking soda's alkalinity making it a neutral and useless solution.
It workwd for me but not fully i did it twice mines badly tarnish wiol uave to do it a few more times me think
It definitely works
I also washed copper jewellery and it worked
Thank you 🫀

My necklace has an emerald pendant (I suppose syntethic one) can I still use this method without causing damage to it?
Do know that the chemical reaction makes a stink so go out side or do this in a well ventilated area

Does this eat away at the metal? Make it weak?
I'm pretty sure that the metal doesn't get harmed, just the tarnish gets removed
Yuhoooo!!! It just took a minute to shine.. Dammnn, Thank you it worked
What if you use an aluminum or metal mixing bowl? Obviously no foil required. Just weird having an extra step if it could be avoided.
This hack worked like wonder!! I got new anklets just like brand new after trying this !! Thank you so much 😃
So informative and straight to the point. Do you mind if I reshare this short????
Thankyou it worked
Does this work on gold and rose gold?
My old rings look so much better now!!! I still think I'm gonna get them rhodium plated and polished though. But I can actually wear them for now!
The firat time i tried this i put the baking soda in first and laid the silver on top and it didnt work at all the second time i put the silver in first then baking soda on top and it worked
big thumbs up.. works like a charm!
Can i use aluminium container instead of the foil ??
I use a salt, foil and warm water . I'll try the baking soda when my silver get tarnish again.
Thank you❤
I don't have Aluminum foil can I do without it?
Just buy some 😂
What's the point of the foil
I don't have foil right now with me. Can I do it without the foil?
It didn't worked for me😢
That’s stainless steel not silver
Will the baking soda hurt colored gemstones and crystals
Baking soda wouldn’t but the reaction of baking soda, foil and silver might. If your silver has any stone I would suggest you don’t try this.
Worked like a charm
Will it work for my silver coin?
I have collection and it is going black 😢
Yes definitely 👍🏻
Would corn starch work
Thank you!!!
Thanks so much. Works like a charm…pun intended!
Glad you tried it 🥰
Worked for me tnxs
big help thanks
Does this work for fake gold ,too?
No don't do it it will get rid of the color
Mine is still orange
Wow 😮 it work really very good ❤
I did this and it made my necklace rusty looking….
Is silver diamon okay to use this method?font wanna my diamonds
Diamonds won't get ruined by this.

Silver polish
What if I have a. Silver chain with small diamonds? It will be fine I imagine

It didn’t worked for me
It works every time. You probably missed a step.
You’ll need the foil. Without the foil it won’t work properly. I did twice without foil, it failed and it cleaned immediately after with foil
Bgm like rose (blackpink) gone
Why is the foil necessary ?
Yes it is :)
@@elnazhamai oh no , I’m asking why is it ? I believe you I’m just saying , why is it needed ? Will it not work without it ?
Causes the dirty stuff off the silver to stick to a weaker metal (aka) aluminum. When combined with hot water and baking soda
You can try it for yourself I just did without foil twice it won’t work. With foil it did the job immediately
Thanks for sharing! 🤗👍❤
Of course 🥰 thanks for watching 🙏
Why do u need foil?
You're essentially transferring the tarnish to the foil
❤
Still looks dirty
Not to me 😂
❤
