Have you got the ratios the wrong way round? If you changed diff ratios from 4.2-1 to 3.7-1 that would surely raise the gearing. Also it’s the 4.2 that’s normally less expensive as there are more of them around.
I put a diff. In many years ago and couldn’t get the prop shaft back then someone told me i Han to tilt the prop shaft slightly upwards so I did and it went straight in .
Hi Jim. The exhaust is currently a k series downpipe into a reducer then a Toyota Yaris center box as a silencer. This is all to try and get an original look and sound but I am finding it a bit restrictive
I may be being a bit thick but if you've gone from the 4.21 to a 3.7 then you've now got a 'taller' or higher ratio diff in it? This will lower acceleration and give a higher top speed will it not? I've gone from a 4.2 to a 3.9 in my Morris and the cars revs lower at higher speeds now?
@@MarksWheels yeah, I was a bit confused too! I have a 4.2 in my KMidget and it’s a bit ‘busy’ but it’ll still easily cruise at motorway speeds, though first gear is really a bit low (with a type 9 from a 4 cyl car, not the more desirable ratios 2.8 V6 version)
@@emmajnation-emma I'm not sure which engine my type 9 is from. Next time I have it on a ramp il have a look as i always found 1st a bit long before the diff change
Check out what i found when stripping the old differential to see what broke! ruclips.net/video/WTdjDPkKSOc/видео.html
Brilliant video
Thanks for watching Roger
Result definitely seems to pull well might try that on my moggy great video 👍
Thanks Sean. I'm really pleased with it

Hi DC. Yesi did get the ratios the wrong way round lol.
Looks pretty quick off the mark now 👍
It is quicker than original but you could always do with more power lol

What the exhaust that your using ?

@@MarksWheels it sounds really good tho !

Might be the other way then lol. My maths isn't what it used to be lol

sounds alot better.. acceleration better too
Yeah I'm really happy with it. Made it a totally different car
