    there are flip out tabs on the wings to peg them in tanker truck mode, also in jet mode, the flap that you tried to fold in the gap pegs instead over the cab onto its roof

    You've got more patience then me, I was stressing just watching you transform that.

      Once you get good at it, it's really satisfying. But you have to be patient and slow down until you're confident... they break much easier than you might think, and being stressed out will make you break it :D

    Guys, this is the most accurate G1 Octane towards Sunbow animation ever on 3 modes. Even for their Blitzwing. KFC’s figures u really need a lot of patience to transform them. Mine no problem at all and without any defects. Do comparisons between their designs to G1 Sunbow animations. Unique Toys version are more accurate towards real automotives. I dig this one more than any other previous Octane releases.

    just looked this up and this is phase 11a, phase 9a is Kingorilla & Kongor, there is a forum post that named this 9a but the images in said forum post shows 11a.

  • @DMSL2007
    @DMSL2007 7 лет назад +6

    Nice figure, but it just pales in comparison to Unique Toys' Provider. I sold mine, which i kinda regret, but i have too much stuff so it had to happen.

  • @orionpax911
    @orionpax911 7 лет назад

    Looking at the older prototypes, looks like the original version had panels (now absent) that swung back to cover the gap before the tail fins, and the other gap was filled with something else too.

  • @Freak80MC
    @Freak80MC 7 лет назад +1

    While the cab being separate from the trailer is pretty cool, the plastic issues along with that fiddly transformation makes this look not worth it in comparison to Unique Toys' version.

  • @RCCrawlerz209
    @RCCrawlerz209 7 лет назад

    I do like how truck & the trailer are separate from eachother but can still form the plane, truck, & robot modes. In a way, it kinda (in a round about way) reminds me of CW/TR Ultra Magnus/Optimus Prime. 🤔😮

    thanks for the review peaugh.
    I was interested...but that WAY too many armatures for only an ok truck and plane.

    Seems like transformations would get much smoother with experience.

      Yeah. Some are easier than others. Take your time. There's no shame in putting it down to take a break and calm your mind and nerves!

    Those posable fingers works well on a big combiner hand, but not for smaller bots. I still think that the way they do the fingers on the official masterpiece figures is the best way to go. Im just fine with having the hands holding a gun or being slightly open for a relaxed hand pose, and I have absolutely no need for multi-posable hands anyways. Other than that this looks like a great figure though.

  • @AoiKaze2000
    @AoiKaze2000 7 лет назад

    If you tried to compact the Cab section to the body before plugging in the two panel sections on the top of the jet, does that get rid of the gap between the truck and tanker in jet mode?
    It looks like the truck cab should (in theory) be flush with the tanker in jet mode.

  • @QueenStodge
    @QueenStodge 7 лет назад

    Octane is looking good. Aside from the detachable spoiler shield in his tanker truck mode, he looks quite nice as a truck. Also a shame that the detachable gun hinders the turning. If only there was a way to remove it and place it to the side to enable it to turn. But I've gotta say, that cab being able to detach is something I didn't expect. That is pretty neat, and I can't think of any other Octanes being able to do that, 3rd party or official.
    His transformation looks quite involved but also quite linear in the way you work back to front. I wouldn't say it's as crazy as DX9's Octane.
    Jet mode is looking very Octane-y with the truck bits underneath and the wings and looking good but not perfect. Such is fate, I suppose. Not too sure how the gun stores but it might just use the same peg as it did in truck mode? I don't know, I usually just keep the weapons off of my robots.
    That robot mode looks great but his face looks off. I believe it's due to the lips he has along with the eyes. Without them it might just work. Not a fan of the transluscent bits on the chest either. He sounds a bit fragile, with a third of truck mode snapping off and the stress on the fingers. It might be a case of it being a review sample, but could also be a universal problem. That's a case of time will tell. Articulation is looking good so overall, very nice to look at, but playability is a bit of a grey area. Again, that's probably a case of it being a review sample, so who knows. Scale is quite good too!
    As for me, I'm debating putting a pre-order at my local comic book shop for TR Octone, so I'm covered. Only need the one in my life at the moment, but in the future... Who knows? Also he's gonna look great to a MP Ghost Starscream. WoooooooOoOOOoo

  • @walkers198
    @walkers198 7 лет назад

    FYI.. Not a yelling face, a ‘scared face’ when he saw starscream‘ s ghost. Lol. I still think I’ll go with Provider one day unless something better comes out by then. I like this figure’s size though.

    Ah, Triple Changers. Will anyone ever make one that looks right in all 3 modes? Best one I can think of is Generations Springer, and even he has a helicopter mode that looks a little weird, though it's still awesome.

    Great review, think I'll stick with my Unique Toys Provider instead. It always sucks when they break.

    • @xxlegolas

      He's a wee bit smaller than I'd prefer. Octane should be around the size of Astrotrain.

  • @Psyche1903
    @Psyche1903 6 лет назад

    Oh dear. It's got some good ideas, but those fingers man, and that transformation.
    I'm still happy with my Provider. If not, then I'd just get the Takara Octane. The Jet Mode might not be much, but it's a decent fig over all.

  • @ConvoyGTR

  • @Faxie83
    @Faxie83 7 лет назад

    I really like my Provider, but I think it's too small. Thought this would be a good MP alternative, but I'm kinda disappointed seeing this and Ben's review. Robot mode looks good enough, bit plain maybe, but the altmodes look really crappy to me. With so many panels moving, you should get nice altmodes imo. And parts breaking is inexcusable... Guess I'll stick with Provider then.

    • @BIGLARRY100
      @BIGLARRY100 7 лет назад +1

      Faxie83 if you go by pics of the g1 cartoon of Octane then Provider is actually the right size. He stars in that 1 episode w/ Sandstorm. You see him allot in that & he's much smaller than you would assume. That said, I still feel ya because in my mind I think of Octane, Blitzwing, & Astrotrain all equal in size. In MP figs it seems Octane is too small & Blitzwing too big.

    • @gzmanuk
      @gzmanuk 7 лет назад

      BIGLARRY100 thats just the crappy third party engineering tsking up space in the figure. They cannot design a triple changer without making them super chunky to accomodate all the extra kibble

  • @PicklerEntertainment

    KFC is so hit and miss for me, I have their Transistor, King Gorilla, Kingzilla, and Opticlone releases, all of which I love. I've personally never had an issue with any of their hands/fingers. But, I was extremely unimpressed with their version of Blitzwing and this guy looks to be equally unimpressive... In both of those figures it looks like they took on more than they could handle, and instead of scrapping the figure they just release what looks to be an unfinished product.

  • @toddphillips4391
    @toddphillips4391 7 лет назад

    well dang it when i watch a transformer figure review to me it’s rare when i see accidental breakage.

  • @MrHusang23

    What's the point of the shield, if it's not incorporated into any of the modes?

    • @Thunder_storm110
      @Thunder_storm110 7 лет назад

      MrHusang23 his g1 toy had a shield

    • @MrHusang23
      @MrHusang23 7 лет назад

      I know, because I have it. But this is based on the cartoon, and he had no shield there, and the shield is too big and doesn't really add to any of the modes. If we take the G1 figure as a standard, then where is his large, silver shield?

  • @archangel2015
    @archangel2015 7 лет назад

    I wonder if this was the test shot that was being passed around and that's why it broke.

  • @Crim222
    @Crim222 7 лет назад

    I liked what I was seeing of this and was going to get it but not now. I understand this is a test shot and breakage is a common issue with fragile items like that but the reason why I won't buy one now, and I won't shop at TF Source now either, is because of the way XTB and Keith treated you about it. And, if his tweet about being "upset" with you is to be believed I won't buy from TF Source now either for being "upset" with you and expecting a toy commercial and not a review.

  • @SuperFireDagwon
    @SuperFireDagwon 6 лет назад

    I've got Provider, and Strato looks to be a lot more fiddly to transform, and not quite as solid a figure. I like what Strato is trying to do with some of its engineering , but just the overall whole is just...meh.

    Nice review man but this looks like a hit mess. Usually 1 mode is the weak link but in my opinion robot mode is the best part here. What a hot mess. I still like Crash Hog though. Their best offering to date

    I used to be an XTB apologist but their stuff is just getting worse and worse. There's no value put on cleverness or efficiency, its just an orgy of panels and hinges and the cheap plastic they use keeps breaking and stops the toy from looking any good. This guy's altmodes don't even look FINISHED. I was really hoping they'd be making improvements because I want their stunticons, but I'm not sure I want a combiner that shares any genetics with this hot mess.

      6x6Majin oh, turns out it was the little tab that the arm pegs into in truck mode. Lovely. At least that one doesn’t super affect the mode.

    • @6x6Majin
      @6x6Majin 7 лет назад +1

      When it rains, it pours, I guess. What is it with KFC and breakage? I have heard and seen nothing but horror stories from them. It's a shame too because while I think Stratotanker is a bit of a dud, I've liked the look of a lot of their other stuff, like Kingzilla and Kingorilla, but there are so many reports of them just up and falling apart and it's not just the fingers. It's a shame because they could be a great company if they could fix their fragile plastic problem.

  • @Scerttle
