Welcome to a walking tour around the University of Lincoln campus, based in the centre of the historic city of Lincoln, Lincolnshire.
The university is a modern and fairly new, currently holding the ‘Modern University Award’ by The Times.
The first buildings were opened in 1996 by the Queen and since then, it has expanded and now offers many different degree and study options, the latest building being a new Medical School.
The university has developed next to the Brayford pool on an area that was once part of the Great Northern railway expansion in the 1900’s, and some of the historic buildings of that era have now been repurposed by the university e.g. the 1875 Engine Shed is now an entertainment venue and the 1907 Goods and Grain Warehouse now forms part of the library.
Join me as we take a walk through the city centre main campus, the entertainment area, sports facilities and around the student housing area next to the Roman built Fosdyke navigation canal, ending our walk at the Brayford Pool side of the university.
Filmed in early April 2021 on a beautiful sunny spring day, during the Easter break for students so very quiet on campus.
