❄DJI MAVIC 3 Captures Icy Cold Chicago | Cinematic 4K Footage

- I flew a Dji Mavic 3 through a Chicago snowstorm and arctic blast. Some parts of Chicagoland reached a bone cracking -23 degrees with wind chills as cold as -43 degrees below zero that was officially recorded by the National Weather Service. Those temperatures were recorded well in land away from the lake at the farthest points of the Chicagoland area. The lake-effect snowstorm wasn't bad, but nevertheless, there's some great footage to enjoy. I always had a view of the drone at all times for safety.
The drone never got wet from the snow because of the extreme cold temperatures here in Chicago.
14% of Lake Michigan is iced over during the time of the video. You will see a lot of ice and some people flocking to the lakeshore to photograph and enjoy the great views.

You would think we are the coldest northern city in the world but not even close there are many more cold than us. Minneapolis, St. Paul, Milwaukee, Detriot, Buffalo, Albany, NY, Duluth, Mn, Fargo, Portland, Maine, and the list gets longer if we add smaller towns, and Alaska or even longer if we go international. All Canadian cities except the ones on their southern Pacific Coast, Moscow, Sapporo, Japan, etc etc. We had 58 F degrees on Christmas day and a pretty mild December. The average high of December was 47 F. December in recent years has been getting warmer over the years
Chicago is the biggest coldest city it the U.S. Thats why we get recognition when temps crash below zero. Barrow Alaska pretty damn cold!
Google it. You need to wear 2 Canada Goose jackets one on top of each other just to keep warm. Lol.

Ok, yes, it was dang cold those days but it was -23⁰f somewhere in the Chicagoland area like 50 miles away in Crystal Lake not downtown by Lake Michigan. Nice video though...
You'd have to be well inland away from the lake to see those extreme cold temps. Aurora, Sugar Grove, Rochelle etc. The warm lake kept temps at at a balmy -6 below at Ohare and -3 below(Give or take few degrees) along the lake. Thats not with the wind chill either.

Fantastical frosty flight footage, AND, importantly, Fresh Asparagus at $1.99 /lb. Reasonably certain that wasn't locally grown produce. The drone pilot was a local resource and captured the moment as perfectly as any filmmaker could. Thanks for the best Mavic 3 video I have seen in a month or more.
