I’d like to point out that Tengen’s appearance at the Butterfly Mansion, which was out of character for him, was born out of desperation. His wives had gone silent while infiltrating the brothels, and when he arrived at the Mansion to get help from Shinobu or her tsukimo (correct word?) he only found noncombatants with no guarantee that the ones he wanted would return soon. So, knowing that the clock was ticking for the most important people in his world, he decided to take the girls, probably while acknowledging the fact that they’ll probably die.

I agree with Kaminoyume. This arc wasn't devoid of development, nor had annoying moments. ED Arc easily felt the most well rounded, and possibly has the best executions of flashbacks that the show has seen, on top of giving us characters that we grow to care about, with a lot of development being subtle, which I feel a lot of people miss. This season isn't perfect/excelling in every measure, but it does what it needs to do, tell a story, and tell it good, Which I personally feel is far better than the Swordsmith Villiage Arc. This arc is easily the best arc of Animated Demon Slayer, to me, and Experiencing its release week after week with family, will hold a special place in my heart.

I can't say the same. Entertainment District arc just hit different. From the pacing, to the Sakuga, and animation. Swordsmith Villiage is when things started feeling lackluster, its like the writing took a sharp turn down after the ED Arc. Experiencing S2 from week to week was a time to be alive. Watching Episode 10, Day of, was a memorable experience; Part of me wished the battle had a film release, fit with film editing and audio. Loved Entertainment District Arc a lot!

Wow, do I disagree with your opinion that the season was lacking without characterization. It has some of the greatest characterization in all of anime ffs.
@@gallenberger1Zenitsu and his actions against Daki… and defending the way Daki spoke to the little girl. Really got to see more of Zenitsu’s character, which is mostly just freaking out over Nezuko or something. Otherwise, I would say that Gyotaro and his backstory was as interesting as Tengen’s. Tengen’s is still the best. The whole season’s SATIRICAL value far exceeded the other seasons, though with a terrible, TERRIBLE plot. The comedic value and character development, however, is a different story- I’d say that’s where the first season is most strong. Muichiro & Hantengu were my favorite parts of swordsmith… though it was a little dark and felt longer than the other seasons. Just my opinion🎉
Lowkey, would have been really interesting for Zenitsu to train under Tengen. Zen’s gimmick was that he could only preform one attack from his main breathing style. Him developing a move is cool, however another interesting route would have been for him to incorporate sound breathing into his arsenal imo.
Would also work well because Sound Breathing apparently derives from Thunder Breathing anyway and due to his hearing, Zenitsu would definitely be able to learn the latter. Also would have been cool if interacting more with Tengen and his wives could have helped Zenitsu learn that marriage is not the peak end goal that fixes everything that he thinks it is. And that you need to form a genuine bond with your partner. Because the whole marriage thing that you'd think would be a major aspect of Zenitsu's development was just kept as an annoying joke with the worst written romance story I've like. Ever read lol. Feel like Tengen and his great relationship with his wives should have been a no brainer way to show him how marriage and normal behaviour around women is supposed to look like.

Why do yall keep saying he’s one of the weaker hashirah??? He’s literally top 3 before they got their marks, top 3 in speed, power, battle iq, skills, and adaptability. Except for two there’s no other hashirah faster stronger or smarter
Ugh. Comparing Uzui to the trash person that is Fushiguro Toji is galling. And to spend the whole video describing what a well developed character Uzui is while ignoring the development of the antagonists just so you can claim the whole season is lackluster is pretty weak. We get solid glimpses at who Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke are, as well. You were so focused on how amazing the final battle was that you forgot what else the season accomplished. This is like a "best of list" that purposely chooses a controversial number 1 to boost engagement.
This video makes me believe you've barely seen any anime/read any manga in your life. I love Tengen, he's great. But he's really not all that special. His background story is literally pretty tame within demon slayer and maaaaany other shows. Also, Tengen breaks nothing about the medium, neither positively nor negatively. Not a single thing about his character or the combination of the traits changes anything about the medium at large or how people see the medium. You're just objectively wrong ngl. Yeah having finished the video now, you're lying through your teeth for click bait. The thing you're describing is NOT Tengen breaking anything. It's ufotable. And the fight has 6 pivotal charactees in it, not just Tengen, so claiming it's Tengen who somehow broke the bar for animation specifically is just wrong. Lastly, ufotable broke the bar when it comes to cgi, sliw motion and flashing visual effects, they use these masterfully. As opposed to modern One Piece just spamming visual effects until you can't tell what's happening and all epileptic viewers have died. But there is more to animation. From an actual ANIMATION standpoint, like the movement of images, attack on titan set the bar FAAAAR higher years ago already with multiple scenes of Levi. Also jujutsu kaisen has faaaaar better animation and choreography. I genuinely think you don't understand the terminology here. What demon slayer does best isn't actually animation, but stunning visual effects and art. The actual MOVEMENT OF IMAGES is pretty mediocre. And when it comes to the most visually stunning fights, stuff like Netero vs Meruem or Gon vs Pitou set a higher bar in 2011 already, where those fights didn't have particularly great animation, but were presented like absolute masterpieces among art with how they utilize everything on the screen to convey certain feelings. You need to enjoy more great shows. I love Tengen and still vividly remember me and my little brother jumping and shouting "YES!!!" when Tengen came back into the fight to save Tanjiro last second. The fight was amazing. But it didn't break or revolutionize anything and didn't set any particular animation standard as the animation isn't the special thing about this fight. Lastly, you shouldn't make such obvious lying statements. Even if you truly believe this fight broke anime, the title should've been something like "THIS FIGHT broke anime". Not Tengen specifically. As nothing about his actual character was relevant to your conclusion. Your conclusion was explicitly about VISUALS, not about characters. So stop click baiting.
@ardynizunia9709 I mean the character who is defined by his external flashiness and internal depth perfectly mirrors the fight that I believe broke anime. The flashiest visual fight anime has ever seen, with deeper reasons behind it being incredible, to the point that it is a literal visual representation of Tengen is why I believe he broke anime so I disagree with your accusations and conclusion. But I appreciate you watching to the end and commenting regardless. Hopefully you'll enjoy a different video

I can never understand when people rank him so low among the Hashira.
I like to describe Tengen as someone with the biggest "ego" and _lowest_ self-esteem in anime (so far)
That's legitimately a beautiful way of putting it. I wish I came up with that
It reminds me of Uncle Iroh saying "pride is not the opposite of shame, but its source." Just because one id loud and boastful doesnt mean they truly believe it. Hell, they themselves more than likely dont because its too hard for some to admit that the person they dislike the most is themselves

This is like a "best of list" that purposely chooses a controversial number 1 to boost engagement.

skipping in the audio
Yeah I think I screwed that up

@@Leo-ye3rp Timing has never been my strong suit 😅
