Not gonna lie I was a kinda stressed about this vid because it's not my typical style and a bit more random lol, but perfectionism is the killer of a music producer.

it's amazing how you started producing out of an old computer and, over time, built up the skills and knowledge of producing that you have now. You bring so much value to this community :)

Project files is an amazing point. I learned so much stuff from that. Also watching the "Making of" videos by Kygo have been super helpful. He is my hero and I had built up this crazy image of him in my head. I was sick from 17 to 20 and stayed at home all day. I didnt have anything to do except learning how to make music. His music was the only thing I would listen to so when he started making the "Making of" videos it was the best thing ever. Watching him make music and see he also messes up and doesn't get everything the first time is really helpful. Also learning how to play the piano is a great investment if you dont know how to already. Im a little older Im 25 and started learning at 18. Just being able to get a rhythm out of my head and onto the computer instead of drawing stuff in is game changer. I know some people do much better with drawing notes in. Avicii would draw everything onto the grid so it depends on the person. For me though it changed everything.

Funny, but for some reason downloading other peoples projects files never crossed my mind.

the first point is SUPPERRRR TRUEEEE. going inside flps of other peoples music is far better than trying to reverse engineer or even analyze their song, i mean if a remade flp of the song doesn't exist, or stems and all that you can always reverse engineer or analyze raw in my opinion

i did the same exact thing, i didnt download project files instead i browsed the demo projects files which comes with fl studio, probably i learned about layering, mixing & mastering through them : )

mind if i ask, can you make a video on how to improve workflow?
ill explain a bit about my story
basically i make a new project, i work on it for a few hours straight.
the more stuff i create from this project, the slower i progress into finishing it, which leads to me NOT finishing it.
and i just see these other producers in my genre posting music ALMOST EVERYDAY and yet still having a consistent good sound to it
it takes me a month to finish creating a full 4 minute length song but for them it takes them 3 days to finish a 4 minute length song
any insight would help a lot brother and thank u for this video, its a blessing

I have a solution to this and working on developing this sort of mental model that helps you completely destroy this cycle. I'll do my best to make a video on it as soon as possible bro, thanks for the comment

    1. Cut off your internet
    2.Open your DAW of choice
    3. Experiment
    This one worked for me.
