This is in my RUclips feed simply because I've been following the reconstruction of Tally Ho which has happened in and around Port Townsend. This is a lovely video about a community of boat lovers committed to these boats. I've met many of them over the years as Leo and his crew worked their magic on Tally Ho. I watch this and feel envy that I've never found a passion like this or a community like this. I hope Tally Ho is able to get back from their shakedown cruise up the coast for this year's Festival. Alas, I won't be attending, but I look forward to reports about the event. Deep respect to all the mavericks who've chosen to commit their lives to wooden boats.

Two sailboats I have owned have been in the Festival. Interlude a 33' Alden Malabar Jr. and Puffin a 26' Garden Vashon Island Cutter. I in fact bought Puffin in 1977 in Port Townsend after she returned from sailing the south Pacific.

A mellow presentation that suits the spirit of such a special event. Those of us that pass through appreciate the efforts that created and sustain the endeavor. Cheers!

This very nice video, failed to provide the correct information. The boat festival was started by Samuel Connor and Mary Kearn Samuel Had a wooden boat construction shop underneath Carol Hasse. Sail loft. Tim Synder got involved in the second festival. Samuel and Tim filed the paper work for the wooden boat foundation. After the first festival. Paula Calderon was director of the 1979 and 1980. festival. The actual current phone number of the wooden boat foundation is actually Samuel Connor personal phone number dated back till early 1975!!!! There is one picture of Samuel Connor and Walter Henderson. I think it would be nice to contact Samuel to tell part of the wooden boat festival story.
