Paying the plat itself to me isnt that bad, its how much the devs charge for it if you have even the slightest of jobs lol, you wont have the time like lets say maybe a high school student might have? What im saying is, they rely on you losing patience and giving in so i would reccomend either keep grinding or just dont bother, or do what i do and just get yourself pissy about it and just play the level you want but with zero expectations of getting it and you will lol its how all of life works, the second you dont want it no more you get it lmfao same happend to me last night
I didn't grind her the old fashioned way, I just sold some of the prime parts I didn't need for platinum and used that to buy Hildryn prime off another player.

That's exactly why i subsumed her 4 for voracious metastasis lol, with high strength & low efficiency setup it regens just about stupid amounts of energy to literally everyone on the map
Also to note that she's featured in the Helminth skill Parasitic Armor. It sacrifices shields for more armor, plus the conversion rate can double or triple the amount of armor depending on power strength. And with some upgrades like Rejuvenation, Arcane Grace or both, you can literally turn Hildryn into her own version of Nidus or Inaros. She can tank on both sides of the spectrum!~
but why would u do that? the skill removes all her shield so she cant cast anything and makes her extremely vulnerable when the skill runs out as she cant cast it again instantly

Use a powerful CC gun like Cedo, take cover and wait for some of her shields to recharge to activate Pillage & then done. Pillage costs 150 shields regardless of negative efficiency last time I checked, now even if the efficiency is effected the cost would still be low~

I remember people saying she was gonna be crap since Shields at the time were dogshit and Shield Gating wasn't a thing back then. Then she came out and got some buffs, and HOLY HELL was she one my favorite Frames! To this day she has replaced a lot of Tanks I use, and I usually go back and laugh at Rahetalius' video on her since that shut aged like milk lol.
Fun fact: during the Orphix Venom event she was THE meta pick for her ability to generate tons of energy orbs in a wide area for the Necramechs with her ultimate. Literally the only time her ultimate was useful v.v

blazing pillage is basically mandatory because if u run 400% str for full defence strip u wont get any shields on follow up cast from stripped enemies, so u still need that augment outside of infested missions

Man, when I was a Warframe noob, I had a bunch of plat from buying Nekros prime access, which I used to buy Hildy on a whim. Samm, this lady carried me through so much of the early-mid game, it really is a shame that other new players have such a slog grind before obtaining her

Lavos is easily the most unique warframe in the game but Hildren is 2nd. A really good buff and appropriate change to Aegis Storm is actually giving her another balefire because as of now, it's only a visual change with no damage boost whatsoever. Another one would be decoupling her height requirement and letting her actually hover like a helicopter and letting you "sprint" during. Her base kit is incredibly solid tho with no need for gimmicks to make strong work of and only seems to keep getting better as warframe's general power keeps creeping up even if she's not directly touched somehow
yeah, things like Archon Vitality doubling procs from Blazing Pillage manage to push her higher and higher. I'm wondering what crazy stuff Duviri will give her access to synergy-wise.
Ooooh, I finally know a piece of trivia that isnt covered in the video! Hildryn saw some fairly major use during Scarlet Spear! Not on the ground though. She was one of very few frames at the time that could generate massive amounts of energy orbs with her 4, which the necramechs needed in space to abuse Guard mode/arquebex because barely anyone had a half decent mech build at the time and that was one of VERY few ways to clear out objectives fast enough to keep the meter running. This is the only time in my entire warframe career I used her 4, and Im a damn Hildryn main.
We don't talk about Scarlet Spear. No one talks about Scarlet Spear. Do you see ANYONE walking around with a Ceti Lecera or a Basmu? No, because we all want to forget about that mess.

What stopped me from getting base hildryn for so long is how completely bugged exploiter has been since deimos.
All I can see is NovaUmbral trying to put more credits in his orbiter, and Ordis screams at him to stop, because -I'm gagg- it might make the orbiter explode from overload.
As someone who was there at her launch and actually earned her 100% legit: Nobody gets to tell this man that 1000 platinum was too much for a hildryn prime trade. He didn’t pay for hildryn. He paid to not do thermia fractures.
I wish they would add to Hildryn's passive because the fact that her current passive is already an effect that exists in the game as a default kind of sucks. Just a secondary effect added on.
This is why I am to this date more fan of the old void keys farm system than this relic stuff. And ever since I also has been doing void relics and baro way less. Also I remember the event of those stupid thermai stuff. I did some scanning then also bounced when I gotten the Opticor Vandal. Till this date I have touch those thermai event. During the time after failing so much in groups I also found a way to grind the Opticor on my own with Khora. The video is still on my Channel lol.
To add to the data hash scanning. I was on I think my 3rd year of Warframe, and had LITERALLY NO IDEA THAT WAS A THING. Sure I'd see Reddit talking about the hashs in terms that meant nothing to me and assumed it was some AR promo or something, but literally it was not mentioned anywhere ingame, only (I'm assuming) on a devstream.). So most players didn't even know this existed and the odds of seeing those little pads while otherwise doing things in the Vallis was basically non-existent. Also yeah, poor Inaros, he just keeps sinking further and further down. Last I ran the math he's 5th ranking eHP tank, or even 8th if we count Nezha, Yareli and Rhino using their abilities. And even that is assuming someone is choosing to tank with just eHP vs DR or Invulnerability powers. (If you're curious, #1 eHP is Wukong, that bonus 150% from his passive lets him sneak up lol.)
Honestly her 4th is a insane ability and is over looked what I do is just make the range insanely huge and go operator go around like that plus with operator you can move her where ever using their movement
for thermia, brozime made a vid and you literally grab amesha and place down the invincibility bubble on the thermia, fly up and away from danger and just fucking wait. you also use operator and void sling to the fracture so you can have 2 canisters instead of 1 if you're solo but god that's awful. you just refresh the bubble here and there as needed but it's literally just a waiting game. edit: Hildryn's 4 being good would require her Balefires to of course, either fire 2 shots of Balefire or double her fire rate on the Balefires. Alongside firing full charged shots for the cost of un-charged shots to actually be synergistic. I think that alone would be good enough to make her 4 usable since you can already have 11 seconds of free aegis storm with aegis and ocassional barrier proc.
It's a really specific gripe, but the way I have to recast Haven in case a Bombard pops my shields literally kills the entire frame for me. I only bring her vs Corpus due to how good Balefire Surge is and how Adaptation works nicely against the Corpus high-damage units.
tl;dr rant: You can subsume any ability from Hildryn except pillage without affecting her gameplay. Aegis storm is a bad ability that the game doesn't want you to use. I've been a hardcore Hildryn main since its launch and at this point her entire kit is pillage imo. Balefire is the 2nd best ability on her, being able to dish out good damage even in steel path after you stip shields and armor with pillage but it doesn't even compete with just using your primary, hence why it feels so sluggish to use especially in aegis storm. It's good, but not great. I sometimes replace this ability with something else if I want to act more as an support. One pet peeve of mine is that since you as hildryn have overshields the majority of time on, balefire ragdolls and sends off enemies flying if they are not killed which is a problem. It's like sweeping dirt under a rug but the dirt isn't going anywhere so you have to try and sweep it away again... only for the dirt to end up back under the rug. Pillage is Hildryn. Just spam it and you can't die and you get free energy while you also strip the enemy of their defenses and you gain status immunity due to the clenace. As much as I love Haven's visuals, it's just an energy drain of an ability. The damage is negligible going past lvl 40 and the shield buff it provides is also quite negligible - though better now that shields block more damage than before - but on the contrary, it's not much and something I'd want to subsume away but I don't want to cause one more ability being a thing... Aegis storm. God I love how gorgeous this ability is, both visually and audibly. Too bad it really sucks. So many factors force you into not using it: 1. Cost. Aegis storm drains your shieds, fast. While it's lovely that it creates energy orbs, you as Hildryn don't benefit from said orbs. They only give you 25 shieds which are used in an instant during your ult. You can't cast your pillage during your ult so you got only 2 options: stop using aegis storm or use balefire surge, which while good in concept fails in execution. The cost of using aegis storm is increased by how many enemies you have so it's ill-adviced to use it near a big group of enemies, but also using it only for a couple of them isn't really efficient, slowing your gameplay down by quite a lot. 2. Mobility. God you are slow. You have a dash but god does it get really irritating having a dash be your only choice of ability. You cannot shoot with your balefire during the dash so you are stuck to the crawl speed if you want to shoot. And the dash ofc costs extra energy cause why not? Also there's a max height which is at lower altitude than bullet jumping straight up 3. Balefire. Why is there two cannons, when you only get the benefit of one? No damage boost, no fire rate boost. Nothing. 4. Damage. Ok it might tickle the enemy by a little but overall using aegis brings your average damage output to the ground. You are restricted to only use balefire, a slow shooting rocket launcher. But you can use balefire even without aegis, with more manuverability! The damage is the same as in Haven but it is not doubled by overshields and while in Aegis, you'll lose your overshieds in a matter of seconds. This makes the damage output twice as negligble as Haven's damage. The game really acts against using Aegis storm since it hinders your gameplay that can get with only the other abilites. Aegis is such a big nieche that I use it only to act as a bastille. Seriously. I stand still with aegis on near a defense objective with it on. Otherwise I'd be running around but you cannot run around with Aegis due to the energy restrictions, damage restrictions, and mobility restrictions. All that Aegis provides is bastille levels of CC (Heck, Vauban can move around during his bastille!) and random energy orb drops for your team. Hildryn's full kit would be beneficial on really early level but you get her so late that she just feels like a missed oppurtunity. Also the arcanes are just a neat thing to have and really don't affect on Hildryn's gameplay that much that you'd need them. They're nice to have but far from necessary. A quick note of her passive, everyone can have that one now thanks to the shield changes. Sure, not many will achieve those levels of shields but someone like Harrow and Styanax now both have Hildryn's passive. Yay :) I know that it's not in DE's priority or interest ad the moment to rework Hildryn, there are honestly other warframes that would really benefit from getting a rework more than hildryn. It's just that her ultimate ability is the weakest link to the point that you don't even want to use it. I really want her ultimate to be useful taken into notice how gorgeous the visuals are! Faster fire rate for balefire, faster flight speed (even if it has to come with an extra energy cost), better damage output. Due to how expensive aegis is to use, it would be lovely to be rewarded according to that expense. Or it could be just as it is as of now, but you could cast pillage during aegis. While less fun of an option, aegis would turn into something that the game doesn't force you out from using. Regardless, these are just my opinions and they could be biased taken into account that I have played only hildryn for over 2000 hours as of now. I just love her visuals, her SFX; she is just so cool but a hinderance to Warframe's gameplay. Now don't get me wrong, Hildryn is super strong, self-sufficient and a good support. That's one reason I have played her for so long, but over all, her kit wouldn't suffer at all from having all her abilities except Pillage removed. Rant over.

I stopped playing a little after hildryn was released, (just lost interest) but I came back a week and a half ago just in time for her prime. So I’m going for her prime right now.
Never bought prime access, but larkspur prime was the first shiny new prime thing that I actually actively farmed and I'm glad I did. I think it's the only arch-gun I'll ever need. Not bothered with anything else in this prime access, just larkspur prime.
U think buying Prime acces (the 70€ one/82$?) is Worth it? Bc Its so much Plat compared To other Things. Or should I buy myselfe 15 Regal Aya. And then get rhino prime since o got the other ones already. And some cosmetics?
The main issue with Hildryn is that her ability weapon is garbage and her 4 is also just bad. Both are helminth fodder. Similar to Chroma. If Chroma's 1 was an aoe with low damage but high status - similar in function to thermal sunder, it could at least be useful. If his 4 had big range high status and didn't nerf his armor, it would also be pretty good. I am a Chroma main right now and he is a very fun frame. I just wish his 1 and 4 at least had some kind of utlility. The only thing 2 needs is a change to toxin. It is a VERY underwhelming buff. Other than that, 2 and 3 are awesome and super fun.
I was a new player when she came out and bought her with plat i was mr 10 then. After 2,5 year break i started playing again and now im mr 31 and Hildryn is still my most used frame. I loved the idea of she being a shieldbased frame. What energy? And for her 4 i use gloom with 95% slow with 21m range so it isn't too much. Now I need to main the prime :3
I got hildryn and tbh I think in terms of pure tank I like her more then rhino....that's a good sign since rhino is my most used frame *COUGH* 50% play rate.
U forgot to mention that even though she got akimbo balefire in aegis storm, its stats are the same as the regular balefire, and wont double up the dmg or anything. So its a scam lol. She's still my most fav main, and will always be my shield mommy.

To add to the data hash scanning. I was on I think my 3rd year of Warframe, and had LITERALLY NO IDEA THAT WAS A THING. Sure I'd see Reddit talking about the hashs in terms that meant nothing to me and assumed it was some AR promo or something, but literally it was not mentioned anywhere ingame, only (I'm assuming) on a devstream.). So most players didn't even know this existed and the odds of seeing those little pads while otherwise doing things in the Vallis was basically non-existent.
Also yeah, poor Inaros, he just keeps sinking further and further down. Last I ran the math he's 5th ranking eHP tank, or even 8th if we count Nezha, Yareli and Rhino using their abilities. And even that is assuming someone is choosing to tank with just eHP vs DR or Invulnerability powers.
(If you're curious, #1 eHP is Wukong, that bonus 150% from his passive lets him sneak up lol.)
Honestly her 4th is a insane ability and is over looked what I do is just make the range insanely huge and go operator go around like that plus with operator you can move her where ever using their movement

for thermia, brozime made a vid and you literally grab amesha and place down the invincibility bubble on the thermia, fly up and away from danger and just fucking wait. you also use operator and void sling to the fracture so you can have 2 canisters instead of 1 if you're solo but god that's awful. you just refresh the bubble here and there as needed but it's literally just a waiting game.
edit: Hildryn's 4 being good would require her Balefires to of course, either fire 2 shots of Balefire or double her fire rate on the Balefires. Alongside firing full charged shots for the cost of un-charged shots to actually be synergistic. I think that alone would be good enough to make her 4 usable since you can already have 11 seconds of free aegis storm with aegis and ocassional barrier proc.
It's a really specific gripe, but the way I have to recast Haven in case a Bombard pops my shields literally kills the entire frame for me. I only bring her vs Corpus due to how good Balefire Surge is and how Adaptation works nicely against the Corpus high-damage units.

tl;dr rant: You can subsume any ability from Hildryn except pillage without affecting her gameplay. Aegis storm is a bad ability that the game doesn't want you to use.
I've been a hardcore Hildryn main since its launch and at this point her entire kit is pillage imo.
Balefire is the 2nd best ability on her, being able to dish out good damage even in steel path after you stip shields and armor with pillage but it doesn't even compete with just using your primary, hence why it feels so sluggish to use especially in aegis storm. It's good, but not great. I sometimes replace this ability with something else if I want to act more as an support. One pet peeve of mine is that since you as hildryn have overshields the majority of time on, balefire ragdolls and sends off enemies flying if they are not killed which is a problem. It's like sweeping dirt under a rug but the dirt isn't going anywhere so you have to try and sweep it away again... only for the dirt to end up back under the rug.
Pillage is Hildryn. Just spam it and you can't die and you get free energy while you also strip the enemy of their defenses and you gain status immunity due to the clenace.
As much as I love Haven's visuals, it's just an energy drain of an ability. The damage is negligible going past lvl 40 and the shield buff it provides is also quite negligible - though better now that shields block more damage than before - but on the contrary, it's not much and something I'd want to subsume away but I don't want to cause one more ability being a thing...
Aegis storm. God I love how gorgeous this ability is, both visually and audibly. Too bad it really sucks. So many factors force you into not using it:
1. Cost. Aegis storm drains your shieds, fast. While it's lovely that it creates energy orbs, you as Hildryn don't benefit from said orbs. They only give you 25 shieds which are used in an instant during your ult. You can't cast your pillage during your ult so you got only 2 options: stop using aegis storm or use balefire surge, which while good in concept fails in execution. The cost of using aegis storm is increased by how many enemies you have so it's ill-adviced to use it near a big group of enemies, but also using it only for a couple of them isn't really efficient, slowing your gameplay down by quite a lot.
2. Mobility. God you are slow. You have a dash but god does it get really irritating having a dash be your only choice of ability. You cannot shoot with your balefire during the dash so you are stuck to the crawl speed if you want to shoot. And the dash ofc costs extra energy cause why not? Also there's a max height which is at lower altitude than bullet jumping straight up
3. Balefire. Why is there two cannons, when you only get the benefit of one? No damage boost, no fire rate boost. Nothing.
4. Damage. Ok it might tickle the enemy by a little but overall using aegis brings your average damage output to the ground. You are restricted to only use balefire, a slow shooting rocket launcher. But you can use balefire even without aegis, with more manuverability! The damage is the same as in Haven but it is not doubled by overshields and while in Aegis, you'll lose your overshieds in a matter of seconds. This makes the damage output twice as negligble as Haven's damage.
The game really acts against using Aegis storm since it hinders your gameplay that can get with only the other abilites. Aegis is such a big nieche that I use it only to act as a bastille. Seriously. I stand still with aegis on near a defense objective with it on. Otherwise I'd be running around but you cannot run around with Aegis due to the energy restrictions, damage restrictions, and mobility restrictions. All that Aegis provides is bastille levels of CC (Heck, Vauban can move around during his bastille!) and random energy orb drops for your team. Hildryn's full kit would be beneficial on really early level but you get her so late that she just feels like a missed oppurtunity. Also the arcanes are just a neat thing to have and really don't affect on Hildryn's gameplay that much that you'd need them. They're nice to have but far from necessary. A quick note of her passive, everyone can have that one now thanks to the shield changes. Sure, not many will achieve those levels of shields but someone like Harrow and Styanax now both have Hildryn's passive. Yay :)
I know that it's not in DE's priority or interest ad the moment to rework Hildryn, there are honestly other warframes that would really benefit from getting a rework more than hildryn. It's just that her ultimate ability is the weakest link to the point that you don't even want to use it. I really want her ultimate to be useful taken into notice how gorgeous the visuals are! Faster fire rate for balefire, faster flight speed (even if it has to come with an extra energy cost), better damage output. Due to how expensive aegis is to use, it would be lovely to be rewarded according to that expense. Or it could be just as it is as of now, but you could cast pillage during aegis. While less fun of an option, aegis would turn into something that the game doesn't force you out from using. Regardless, these are just my opinions and they could be biased taken into account that I have played only hildryn for over 2000 hours as of now. I just love her visuals, her SFX; she is just so cool but a hinderance to Warframe's gameplay.
Now don't get me wrong, Hildryn is super strong, self-sufficient and a good support. That's one reason I have played her for so long, but over all, her kit wouldn't suffer at all from having all her abilities except Pillage removed. Rant over.

The main issue with Hildryn is that her ability weapon is garbage and her 4 is also just bad. Both are helminth fodder. Similar to Chroma. If Chroma's 1 was an aoe with low damage but high status - similar in function to thermal sunder, it could at least be useful. If his 4 had big range high status and didn't nerf his armor, it would also be pretty good. I am a Chroma main right now and he is a very fun frame. I just wish his 1 and 4 at least had some kind of utlility. The only thing 2 needs is a change to toxin. It is a VERY underwhelming buff. Other than that, 2 and 3 are awesome and super fun.

I was a new player when she came out and bought her with plat i was mr 10 then. After 2,5 year break i started playing again and now im mr 31 and Hildryn is still my most used frame. I loved the idea of she being a shieldbased frame. What energy? And for her 4 i use gloom with 95% slow with 21m range so it isn't too much. Now I need to main the prime :3
