Tony and Silvio had their tensions but Silvio always kept his cool. For a guy who sucked at gambling he sure knew how to play his cards right.

@HidanVenom it may have saved tony in the end seeing as it was most likely patsy who had tony whacked.
@HidanVenom chris wasnt fearless, he was reckless and stupid, he was only made capo because tony wanted him to takeover eventually so he could distance himself from the lifestyle and avoid prison

The character arc for Tony was so well done. In the first season you would never want to see him die. In the final season, while you hope he doesn't take a bullet, a part of you can't help but think.. his men would be better off because he was more of a jerk as time went on.

Silvio was the brains, and as a close friend of Tony is why New Jersey worked. Without Silvio and his gift as a Consigliere, Tony would have had a massive problem.
I've watched this show twice now, and I just realized that Silvio told patsy to take the tiles to keep him feeling valued/earning more to balance the fact that Chrissy took over as captain. Thanks for these short stories that you upload, it really helps digest the stories within the show

The argument between Tony and Sil in the car during the Columbus Day episode is one of my favorite scenes in the whole show. Love the dialogue. So shocking to me how that episode was one of the lowest rated when it came out, but obviously it can be appreciated a lot more today by how relevant and on point it is still.

Love how Silvio totally denies the tile thing and then Silvio gives Tony some money for the tiles. Great song and dance.
You idiots are missing the point.
Sil doesn’t deny that the tiles were stolen or that he wasn’t involved, he denies doing so with the knowledge that Tony had previously forbade their theft.
@@OlYables the underline is Sil, directly disobeyed Tony to show him that Christopher was not yet fit to be a capo. Not only because he was young but also because he did not earn the respect from the other soldiers and capos. Silvio proved a point
@@kokotaughsNot just that, but he knew Patsy needed a win

The tension between Tony and Silvio can all be traced to Silvio's knowledge that Tony never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
This video really made me realize how terrible of a boss tony is. He passes over senior guys and plays favorites. He constantly disrespects his closest people and makes horrible decisions. Then blames everyone else when it all goes wrong.
Yea.... He was.
I actually believe Tony would have been whacked earlier if not for Silvio.
Be it trying to please patsy after the capo pass over, the advices he gave him and the outlet for all the guys' complaints.
He never had the makings of a Varsity Mob Boss
@@RetroHabit82 No. Just no.
I mean he fucked over Chrissy too; it was just Patsy's turn to bend over and grab his ankles.
No one could say nothing like Sil. Sometimes he repeats what he said to avoid answering and sometimes he says what everyone is thinking.
Sil was Tony’s best friend. Always had Tony’s best interest at heart. I don’t think Tony knew how good of friend he was.

Man, Bobby was a decent guy. No politics, just congratulates Chris and is the first to do it
im glad I wasn't the only to recognize that too
Tony knows Silvio's secret identity of being a band member in Bruce Springsteens band
Sil's reaction when Tony says that Columbus might as well be a movie is amazing
If the Mayor of Munchkin Land had taken the singing gig with Red Clay, he might be still alive.

This made me crack up, watching them complain about Frankie Vallie, then he comes in as an actor as Rusty Millio
Nope Offmate No kidding
Thought I was hearing that incorrectly.
Would have been a nice little payday, an opportunity to hone that rep he left behind
Silvio, Bobby, Carmela and Melfi all knew how to handle him and he didn't even know it
After all these years, I still can't get enough of Gandolfini's performances. Masterclass.

Borko, can you do a video on Mexican Travertine floor tile? We really should know what all the fuss is about. :) Could be the first crossover video for your Mexican and Sopranos subs.
Chrissy outta nowhere: ''He was gay, Gary Cooper?''
Tony: ''NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! AREYOULISTENINTOME!!!!!''
Probably my favorite scene from the entire series is the floor tile scene between Sil and T, in Tony's basement. That was epic, bad-ass, gangster negotiation there.
EVERYTHING was on the table in that scene. Sil's loyalty, Tony's loyalty, the possibility of betrayal by either one, and epic gangster negotiations, ALL without actually saying what they're actually saying.
Hey, I'm not saying! I'm just saying. That kinda stuff. Very very well-written and acted. David Chase is a master craftsman of cinema.
Tony complaining about victim groups, but he is the one 'trapped inside that head of his' and seeing a god damn therapist!
Silvio knew Christopher was a waste of space

All things considered, they've got a legitimate beef
The Gary cooper scene in the car is hilarious
5:22 has to be the funniest chrissy line lmfao
Why doesn't Tony just call the Lupertazzi's and ask them to send Rusty Millio to Chief Smith - I hear the guy does an excellent impersonation of Frankie Valli...
You got some balls, you know that?
That "NOOOOO!" from Tony. Always makes me fucking laugh.

HBO might come for Borko for these videos, he's in no position to go into the unknown not knowing
Silvio was one of the loyal warriors.
Do Italians really put this much weight (pun intended) on being Italian? It's like they act like it's their whole identity
Yes they really do. I've known a number of people of Italian ancestry, they've never been to Italy, know maybe a few words of Italian, but they proudly call themselves Italian.

Funny how they reference Frankie Vali playing and yet Frankie plays Rusty in the show.
Tony was right in the end, because when it came to it, when Silvio had to take over as acting Boss, he was kinda shit at it and couldn't deal with the pressure (of being nr.1) and even had to be hospitalized because of it.
Tony by the end of season 6 looked like he could whack anyone except probably his wife & kids.
He would've wacked AJ or Carmela in the right situation.
Silvio gives Tony the most honest, respectful feedback he has ever gotten in a very calm manner.
Tony then proceeds to lose it on the guy who was telling him for his own good. Tony didnt deserve Sil.
silvio wouldve made a great boss

Tony’s biggest flaw was not being able to take criticism. For someone who hates others for playing victim, he sure does a lot of that himself.
The car ride and Gary Cooper tirade scene is probably one of my top five favorite sopranos scenes of all time lol
Used to like reading comments on Sopranos videos, opinions on the characters and their motives etc etc. Now its just trash everywhere
