I like to think that when Saul doesn't give up Jesse and says "If I was to tell ya, I wouldn't be able to live with myself." and Mike doesn't believe him that it's because he knows what he and Kim did to Howard years ago and WAS able to live with himself after.

I definitely noticed that Mike was never named before here. Given the nature of his existence in the first place I wonder if they just kept putting it off until they were like "no okay this is an actual character rather than just some guy who's doing the wetwork"
Yeah! I feel like they would have at least decided that by Half Measures, but then maybe they were waiting for a natural time to work it in. (And really worked it in, with three mentions in this episode!)

Loving the videos! At 12:28 the camera pans up and to the right because the last shot was Gale looking down to the left - so good seeing these details after all this time!
Honestly, great video man, love the series. 2 suggestions that you can take or leave because this format is already great: maybe consider putting the episode number in the title (ex. S3E13), because I feel it makes it easier to understand the flow and continuity of each video, since most people don't know the name of the individual episode. Also, I would love that the videos would be longer, but I guess you do it this way for a reason, so this is more a wish than a suggestion lol. Anyway, keep up the great work, dude! Can't wait to see S4E1.
Thanks for the feedback! I am thinking about putting the episode # at the end of the title, but I also don’t know if that helps as it could get cut off. I spend a lot of time trying to shorten videos (without losing info) because I worry about wasting people’s time! Also, if I show too long of a single scene, the video gets blocked! 😅
11:39 it's believable mike thought he was setting up and leading Jesse to them acting panicked to get him to hurry. It wasn't til Walter said they're gonna kill him he has to do it did Mike realize
True, although I can get behind Gale opening his door a similar way every time. But Gus and Jesse doing the same knock, especially with Gus being calm and Jesse being freaked out, seems pretty unbelievable!
This channel needs to go up in numbers, really gets in the tiny details! I just wish there would be more episodes already, but I know it aint easy work!
4:57 mike's gun in this scene is a suppressed Heckler & Koch Mk. 23 pistol chambered for .45 ACP. from what i remember, thus gun doesn't actually re-appear later and is instead swapped for a beretta later on
3:00 of course Gus told them to kill Tomas Remember, all vile decisions made by his employees are given by him. They make this clear throughout not only Breaking Bad but also Better Call Saul. And he was going to have Walt’s entire family murdered by the end of season 4. It wasn’t a bluff.
Also, let’s not forget that Mike informed Walt that Jesse was a problem that needed to be dealt with. Gus-having seen Jesse get so upset that his dealers use kids-knew that if his dealers killed the kid Jesse would want to seek revenge which would give his dealers an excuse to kill him-successfully getting rid of Jesse as a problem. This was Gus’s plan.
It’s probably the best evidence! I was ready to admit there’s a possibility they built one in the garage for Junior to use (which is why they never park in the garage 🤣), but Walt certainly would have used it instead of asking Skyler and peeing in the sink!
6:30 if you can read another/opposite way of thinking and try to understand it, instead of just denying whatever you don't believe, that's a sign of a smart person right there.

Not sure if somebody else pointed it out but the thermometer he uses to measure the kettle is a infrared thermometer which uses the laser only to see what you measure exactly.
Ooo, great question! I cut the episode into each distinct “scene,” (sometimes that’s a judgment call) and the length represents the length of time. Each frame is an evenly-spaced snapshot during the length of that scene.
Later on when Hank suspects Gus, he finds his fingerprints in Gale's apartment. But I don't think Gus actually touches anything in that scene in this episode.
Good point. Maybe it wasn’t his first time there? Although Gale’s reaction indicates it’s rare. Although we also don’t see him leave, so maybe he started touching everything on his way out! 😂
9:39 I always saw it as his ego. He doesn't wanna lose to hank. Maybe a bit of looking bad but we've seen earlier his ego makes him bold when Hank doubts he could ever do it. To give himself up to Hank at that Walt's ego couldn't take it. Maybe he also feels it could rob Hank of actually being able to catch him. Because at the end when Hank does it seems Walt's at peace and wanted it to be Hank if anyone. Maybe giving himself up could rob them both of the end of their fated end. Plus it'd be essentially folding to Hank and we saw in the poker game he'd rather bluff his way out.
One of my absolute favorites, behind Jane this is definitely one of the more sinister things he does not only to end Gale but specifically after Jesse said he wasn’t a murderer. Can’t wait for Boxcutter next week!
Yes, sinister, although he was also backed into a corner fighting for his life! Box Cutter should be a good one! I’m working on it now, and made two new discoveries while editing! 🎉
What I love about bcs is the depth it gives to Mike. The line, “yeah, unfortunately I do Walter,” doesn’t make a lot of sense in breaking bad. At this point, we see little to no sense of humanity in him, so why would he sound so upset delivering that line? Well, bcs gives more context. As he executes the German engineer, we learn that he actually is quite an empathetic person; that he is simply controlled by the demands of Gus. I just think that line makes much more sense now. That’s all
Ah, that’s a good point! Although Jonathan also felt that when he gave the “Half Measures” speech, he still had some hope and belief in Walt. Maybe that comes through a little, because he didn’t have to give him a “professional courtesy.”
I like Mike's smirk on his face when Walt is telling Gus what "option B" is. It's basically Mike being like "You got balls Waltuh.. I'll give you that much."
I was surprised, but I see how it fits in with this "happier time." And there was another deleted scene in an earlier episode in which Junior made fun of Walt for driving an Aztec, Walt says he used to drive a Porsche, and Junior doesn't believe him. 😆 Vince said it was purely cut for time. They often had to do this because AMC required episodes to be 47 minutes. I do think this cut is a shame because of the next scene starting with the focus on the Aztec!
@@betterwatchtv @LeChairman I wish they didn't have to cut that. The vehicle each character drives in the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul universe perfectly matches their personality and tells a significant story about who they are, often beyond what we see on screen. That's why I love that Ernesto from Better Call Saul drives a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII, of all things.
11:08 One thing I'm curious of is why would Gus/Mike care about Jesse at this point? Just for vengeance? Certainly don't seem to mind him when using him as a wedge/bargaining chip against Waltuh
I always thought it was weird how Jimmy had one of those shirts with the blue/pattern base and the white collars and cuffs, Only in this one episode I believe. And after BCS it's even weirder knowing about how he was in a way directly responsible for Howard's death. You'd think he would try and stay away from clothing that might remind him of that? Especially with how often he'd wear similar shirts to that when he had to dress up like Howard the 2 times. I get it's not exact, but you'd think it might trouble him a bit putting it on, no?
I’ve always wondered the same thing! But you just gave me the idea to check the script, and it seems to provide the answer! Right after Gale opens the door, it says: It takes Gale a second to place the face (remember, he only met Jesse one time briefly back in 308). So I guess he did!
I always forget how loyal Saul was to Walt and Jesse. Jesse was already basically fired to make meth for Gus so that means Saul wouldn’t make anymore money off of him, yet he still helped walt save Jesse.
This is actually the only channel that I actively wait for an upload every week. i'll be so sad on January 11th 2025 when this series ends

You missed a "Waltuh" count at 11:04
Yeah! 😢😢 I’ll right this wrong when we get to the 12th one!
11:45 is absolutely one of my favorite Heisenberg moments, the way he delivers the line is so great.
“Yeah.” I agree!
5:22 after al the feet memes from bcs, i cant help but to start noticing in bb, feet counter? Nah im joking
I considered saying something, but I thought I’d let the foot speak for itself!
@@betterwatchtv totally did, great job
5:40 Mike was using one of those guns w a transporter like was used by that assassin in Deep Space -9.
Oh!
6:29 "Know thy enemy" type deal
Maybe! Or he just could be curious and loves researching alternative viewpoints!
Just watched all of these Hidden Detail videos in one night.
I did it for me.
Looking forward to the rest!
🎉🎉🎉 Awesome!! And thanks for becoming a member!!
Wow, 32 details in one vid!! This was a great episode and video and I can’t wait for season 4!!
Thanks! I’m working on Box Cutter now, and it looks like it might have even more details! 🤯
@@betterwatchtv Awesome!!! That might mean more work but hey, it’ll definitely pay off.
Mostly the additional work comes from the number of “special effects” I attempt! 😆
I like Mike's smirk on his face when Walt is telling Gus what "option B" is. It's basically Mike being like "You got balls Waltuh.. I'll give you that much."
Absolutely!
So glad there's a new episode.
One every week (I hope!)
I always look forward to these videos. I've watched them all and love every single one
Awesome! Thanks for your support!!
6:31 知彼知己,百战不殆 (Know your enemy and know yourself)
Agent Vanco would be proud!
No way, Ive never seen the clip of Walt and Sky getting into the Porshe. Is there any reason that part was cut?
I was surprised, but I see how it fits in with this "happier time." And there was another deleted scene in an earlier episode in which Junior made fun of Walt for driving an Aztec, Walt says he used to drive a Porsche, and Junior doesn't believe him. 😆
Vince said it was purely cut for time. They often had to do this because AMC required episodes to be 47 minutes. I do think this cut is a shame because of the next scene starting with the focus on the Aztec!
@@betterwatchtv
@LeChairman
I wish they didn't have to cut that.
Haha, I never thought about what car Ernie drove!
6:32 - I think Gale is being good faith and finding his specific disagreements from the texts of Mr. Marx directly. What an intellectual!
I agree 💯!
11:08 One thing I'm curious of is why would Gus/Mike care about Jesse at this point? Just for vengeance? Certainly don't seem to mind him when using him as a wedge/bargaining chip against Waltuh
I guess the one angle is since he's "in the know" and a witness, don't want loose ends like him going cross country
Yeah, I’m thinking it’s a loose end thing!
Yeah, that is an excellent point. I wonder if the writers even thought of that when they determined Howard’s look!
12:04 you missed a detail! he points out where the bullet landed after jesse shot him!
Yeah, someone else just pointed that out! Great detail… I’ll get it in the next video!
Another killer upload! Keep it up, man!
Thanks, Magnus! And thanks for becoming a member!!
Frickin love this channel
Thank you so much! 🤩
I always wondered what the lady at the chemical warehouse actually said to Chow lol
I found two slightly different translations (and tried to use Google Translate to pick between them) but it should be pretty close!
unreal that his name takes that long to come up, considering how popular he is anyways most of us wouldn’t even realise
Right!? Thanks for becoming a member!
12:23 did Gale recognize Jesse?
I’ve always wondered the same thing! But you just gave me the idea to check the script, and it seems to provide the answer! Right after Gale opens the door, it says:
It takes Gale a second to place the face (remember, he only met Jesse one time briefly back in 308).
So I guess he did!
12:27 this ending… left me speechless. So great, I feel so bad for Gale
💯
What a fucking series. I remember watching this live and hating the wait for the new season.
It’s soooo long to wait!! It’s what I’m currently dealing with for Severance (over 2 years)!
I always forget how loyal Saul was to Walt and Jesse. Jesse was already basically fired to make meth for Gus so that means Saul wouldn’t make anymore money off of him, yet he still helped walt save Jesse.
It is pretty amazing the lengths he went to to sell the lie to Mike!
@@betterwatchtv especially because of his huge history with Mike prior
Absolutely!
