Hey Ben thx for a great year sucks we came up short but I have faith we could be back next year. Enjoy your winter have a good couple months. See you in February.
(this below is coming from a Padres fan since 1984, the year Gwynn and Garvey took the Pads to the WS). This Padres 2024 roster was loaded. Preller’s career best season for cumulative talent and a cohesive clubhouse. When the chips were on the table against the Dodgers (the second half of that 2024 5-game playoff series), the Padres offense forgot how to manufacture runs, get on base, not strike out…i.e. forgot how to win! Cease’s 2 bad starts against the Dodgers were avoidable (poor pitch choices and worse execution in critical situations). Why was Schildt even starting Cease on short rest with multiple other starters yet unused? Apparently afraid to start anyone but the top 3 starters, poor judgement. Machado hit .179 in 7 post season games, that’s not much return on investment for the $30 million/10 seasons guy? Playing for Peter Siedler, eh Machado? Then why take off your shirt like a gangster five seconds into every time the team has something to celebrate? Why give the Dodgers’s emotional life by throwing a ball with extra juice right near where the Dodgers manager was dugout positioned (especially in Dodger stadium)? Why get into an expletive tirade with the Dodgers pitcher Flaherty right in front of the Dodgers team dugout(especially in Dodger stadium)? Why does Machado get looked at as the Padres captain when he is arguably the most immature player on the field? Machado’s ego put karma back on the Dodgers side (waking up a sleeping giant). Arraez needed to play his game of steady slap hitting singles and doubles/hitting line drives every at bat (that won him his third batting title), getting multi-hit games every game, scoring lots of runs. Arraez should not be trying to hit bombs (i.e. Willie Mays Hayes nonsense), but Arraez slumps are when he hits lofty flyball easy outs. Back to…why did the Padres offense go on off-season vacation 2.5 games (24 innings) before the end of the Dodgers series? That series was the Padres best chance at a WS ring since the 1998 Tony Gwynn Padres WS loss to the Yankees. This 2024 season was the Padres year to play the Yankees in the WS and beat them. The Mets are woefully beatable, the Dodgers were reeling in the corner ready for the K.O. punch from the Padres. But instead the Padres grabbed series defeat from the hands of victory by taking on the mojo of their “leader Machado” swinging and missing at sliders off the plate until the end of time…
Kershaw meme…his mom died two WEEKS thereafter. SD organization should own it, and you fans should be ashamed of it. Your organization is led by immature people. What else would you expect from your players. SD fans condone it. You know why? Because you haven’t won anything and winning is much important than being professional. You won’t care until you win something.
After the 2025 season. The padres are going back to their roots of being the farm system for the rest of the league. Fans will jump off the wagon and it’ll go quiet, like old times. LGD!!
Can’t the Dodgers with half of their starting pitchers are on the injured list. Shohei is pitching again next year and all their pitchers are back next year. Good luck to all others teams
Lets be real. Dodgers should have lost, Dodgers fan here and found your channel after Game 2. You, me, the analyst, all thought it was over. Then Game 3 just added more confidence for Padres fans, but the Dodgers mainly lost that game by mistakes than Padres out playing them but I remember thinking if Dodgers win Game 4, which is highly possible after the Musgrove injury, Padres do not wanna go back to Dodger stadium, especially after what happened game 2, mentally the players checked out. Ohtani is not pitching, half our studs are out. This was your year friars. If the Dodgers win the world series. Its gonna sting even more because wtf happened right.
You're right. This was the first time, the Padres had the edge over the Dodgers in the postseason, and they choked. Complete reversal of '22. This was only good opportunity for Padres to get to the WS. Next year, LAD, ATL, and NYM will all be better. Pads are going to have a tough time because they don't have big money behind them, are locked into bad contracts, and a lot good pieces are leaving this year. Just wish we could win one WS in my lifetime. This city goes so hard for baseball. Its good for baseball for us to stay competitive with LAD. Hope we get another shot, but it gets a lot tougher. Ggs Dodger fan and thanks for being civil.
@@TalkingFriars Dillon Head was the key Piece in the deal but AJ was able to force Miami to take Woo Suk Go as part of the deal. He also got the Braves to take Carpenter and De Los Santos to the Yankees for our current starting LF and pinch running specialist Brandon Lockridge. AJ is the 2024 GM of the year, LFGSD!
When you are up 2 to 1 and you lose the series going the last 24 innings without scoring a run, that’s called a choke job. Of course if it were the other way around and the same thing happened to the Dodgers, you wouldn’t call it a choke job? Sure thing bud. Can’t imagine you saying ‘it was a partial choke job, because mookie swung at some bad pitches’ lol
A rivalry won’t go well for you. If you continue to want it, I guess you’ll get it, especially the way your team acts, but, again, it won’t go well for you in the end because you have to have the winning culture to back it up. Your team is going to lose a lot more than you’re going to win. You don’t and won’t have the team to compete every single year. Dodgers fans are going to clown your team and media in droves, as you can see it after choking this season. Teams like SF have been there and can back it up with their history. This rivalry that you want will be temporary. It won’t last because the Pobres won’t last. Also, saying the Dodgers didn’t beat the Pobres, they beat themselves, makes the choke even bigger. But I don’t mind that. 😂 SD HATES LA. I get it. LA is great, and SD we all know hasn’t been good until recently. But as I’ve said it numerous times LA fans and players didn’t hate the Pobres. We never thought about you. Before 2022 what makes you think we cared what you did? You guys were an afterthought. Nobody even cared where you were in the standings because you weren’t a threat. I admit you’re a threat now, and a rivalry may be brewing, but you clearly don’t understand how rivalries work. It can’t be one-sided. We only started to dislike you and were annoyed by you fans because your hate for us was so strong. Still, we’re more annoyed by you than hate you for your team. You can say whatever you want, but this is an honest truth coming from a Dodgers fan. This is not to mock you as our “rivals”. SF sucks right now, but our rivalry goes on because this losing streak for SF is temporary. SD’s winning streak is also temporary, but you have a losing culture.
😂 Oh wah! You lost one starting pitcher! Boo freaking hoo! The Dodgers had how many on the disabled list for the past few seasons. Come up with a better excuse. Injuries are not an excuse.
@julieann4616 I am very relaxed enjoying my Dodgers eighth WS Championship...oh, I've been calling you but you don't pick up. Must not have any rings🤣🤣🤣
Excuses, excuses, EXCUSES! We can no longer pick on the Dodgers and call them chokers. We have choked three times in five years being in the playoffs. The way we ended in the NLDS going 24 scoreless innings is unacceptable, pathetic, and embarrassing. This isn’t competing for Pete. It’s the opposite. Manny, Nando, and Profar need to grow up and mature if we are to go further as a franchise. The foolishness and butt hurt feelings over Ken Rosenthal and the boycott was soft and unnecessary. We look like total clowns who wear feelings on sleeves. Once again the narrative of these guys in the clubhouse rears its ugly head and won’t go away until we win it all. We will see what we learn from this experience. It will be totally tragic if nothing is learned but not unexpected. This is who they are. When will get tired of excusing them and giving passes? Now we are left with the immortal words we have all grown up with…THERE IS ALWAYS NEXT YEAR. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
