@@iacoponefurio1915 Very kind and thoughtful attempt at a reply but I’m not sure what your point is. Prager argues that adultery is a sin of action not that there aren’t other sins of thought like coveting. Durbin attempts to equate the two to call Prager a hypocrite. Watch the entire exchange Prager in no way is saying what Durbin suggests. Why Durbin does that is very disconcerting.

Prager is clearly not an evil man, and has spent a lot of his life trying to teach morals other than the one on display currently.
"We shouldn't be admiring sinners" - brother, we're all sinners. The only absolute truth is there in the bible and the only perfect man who gave us those same truths is Jesus Christ. The rest of us are human, some trying our best to follow those rules. Even we mess up and misinterpret, so let's humble ourselves to give each other a chance to sharpen our theological axes before we go slicing off others' tongues with them.

Well said Jeff. From out of the overflow of your heart, your mouth speaks. That just comes to mind. If our heart was good, our behaviors would reflect it. And even if we could refrain from outward sin, our heart and mind are still evil. The outside of the cup is clean and the inside is full of filth. And we cannot separate or justify our actions by claiming that our mind and heart have nothing to do with sinning. Jesus referred to this.

Then I found Jeff and Apologia Studios and gave my life to Jesus after hearing the gospel for the first time on the Mormon Evanglism Videos because I grew up Mormon. Mormonism is very much a white washed tombs religion and you have no hope in that kind of law keeping religion and your missing the relationship with God. He brought up the issue in a way where he had not come to a firm conclusion on it and was seriously contemplating the pros and cons. There are a lot of great Scripture quotes in this comment section already, but I wanted to add these from the Psalms that make it very clear that God is actually more interested in your thought life than your outward appearance.
"For You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; You are not pleased with burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise."
    Psalms 51:16‭-‬17 LSB
"Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way."
    Psalms 139:23‭-‬24 LSB

I've come across this issue in my conversations with people. They point out the difference between "Do not commit adultery" in the Ten Commandments and Jesus' "lust of the heart" and they say that Jesus took the Ten Commandments too far. I have been told that the Ten Commandments are not interested in your inner thoughts but your actions. I just ask them what they think of the Tenth Commandment.

To an extend i get the behaviorist approach of what Judaism and Islam prescribe; exactly because the heart is deceitful and wicked and thoughts can be sinful and evil, it's important to ignore and battle against the heart and thoughts by ignoring them and primarily act. The pedophile can think about abusing a child but he can decide not acting upon it. Also, somewhere i heard something to the extend of phrase 'Act as if you do love your neighbour even when you don't and that may transform your heart towards him or people in general'

This is the 'heart' of a legalistic/ works based religion. Saying the Shema every morning is more important to them than actually believing it. And is why Jews like Prager are so common today because it is not about faith to them since they were 'chosen' by God. And when Jesus revealed the judgment that was about to fall upon them because of their hypocrisy, they wanted to kill Him. Then the Rabbis continued to justify themselves even after their temple was destroyed which doctrines also crept into Christianity.

WE shouldn't be surprised of Mr. Prager's view. He used to routinely speak on marriage issues on his radio show; he would address the differences between men and women; his view is utterly perverse. He would propose that men are visually predisposed to deviant behavior and thereby it appeared to women as perverse. In his view, erratic fantasies are very normal and acceptable behavior for men. It is no wonder that he has been divorced and remarried multiple times. We definitely lack integrality with conservatives and we put up with it.... look at how evangelical are enamored with Trump, Matthew Gaetz, and others.

Before I was saved I was (and still am) right leaning, I caught one of Prager U's videos where Dennis talked about what you state here, his view's on men's visual theatrical brains when it comes to attractive women. Around the time I became born again I discovered Living Waters RUclips channel, I heard Ray Comfort continually reference Matthew 5:27-28, when evangelizing to people. That really overtime has helped me to see that Jesus is concerned about the root of the action which begins at heart.
Guess what? I'm a guy, I wholehearted disagree that simply looking isn't dangerous, looking leads to porn, then pictures aren't enough, then simply watching one man and woman isn't enough, things like that can steam role. I also would take a little extra time in the shower...doing something, almost everyday.
Jesus is a game changer, the bible has a healthier way of life, abstinence until marriage and keeping away from a certain self act is HEALTHY for men, these things are better than Oh..it's just looking". Jesus is Lord, I can't work my way into Heaven, Mr. Prager thinks he can. The bible offers truth about Holiness in that if God where to allow sinners into Heaven, he'd be corrupt, and he would not be set apart from us morally. Hence io make it into Heaven you must be morally spotless in thought mind and deed, and none of us are.
Thank the Lord that you and I will have the righteousness of the Son accredited to our accounts on judgement day.

In our hyper-sensitive, twisted and "politically correct" West someone's words, exempt from any actions can have massive consequences for them if they don't comport with the "accepted" rhetoric of the day. Words and thoughts, for better or worse, absolutely matter and are a pre-cursor to action so can be sin of themselves.

I don't think the Nazi analogy works. If Heinrich (who is a member of the Nazi party) gives a Jewish person sandwich on Tuesday and a job on Wednesday, but he rounded them up and imprisoned them without cause on Monday, the actions on Tuesday and Wednesday wouldn't negate what happened Monday. On the other hand, if Heinrich imprisonsoned them Monday, the Hans (also, hypothetically a member of the Nazi party) came and fed Jewish people on Tursday, Hans's good action isn't "tainted" by Heinrich's bad one. I am not saying Prager or Judaism is right, I'm just saying that his line of reasoning would not require Prager to give a pass to "all Nazis" just because one or a few of them did one good thing. It would only require him to give a pass to a Nazi who never himself did a single bad thing...and that is not a crazy thought. Also, typically, "hypocrisy" isn't thinking one thing (of the nature of having an intrusive thought) but then _not acting_ on that thought oneself...it is actively _acting_ in a certain way, then telling _other people_ not to do that same thing.

V6 And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, so that you will love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.
V14 But the word is very near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it.
V17 But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them,
V18 I declare to you today, that you shall surely perish.

The instrument that Jesus died on was just that, a torture instrument, and all the evidence points to the fact that Jesus did not doe on a cross but rather a "upright pole of stake" !
An important reason is that Jesus Christ did not die on a cross. The Greek word generally translated “cross” is stau·ros′. It basically means “an upright pale or stake.” The Companion Bible points out: “[Stau·ros′] never means two pieces of timber placed across one another at any angle . . . There is nothing in the Greek of the [New Testament] even to imply two pieces of timber.”
In several texts, Bible writers use another word for the instrument of Jesus’ death. It is the Greek word xy′lon. (Acts 5:30; 10:39; 13:29; Galatians 3:13; 1 Peter 2:24) This word simply means “timber” or “a stick, club, or tree.”
The most convincing proof of all, however, comes from God’s Word. The apostle Paul says: “Christ by purchase released us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse instead of us, because it is written: ‘Accursed is every man hanged upon a stake [“a tree,” King James Version].’” (Galatians 3:13) Here Paul quotes Deuteronomy 21:22, 23, which clearly refers to a stake, not a cross. Since such a means of execution made the person “a curse,” it would not be proper for Christians to decorate their homes with images of Christ impaled.
So if there was a chance that this is true it means that people are putting Jesus onto a pagan symbol!
