- Created by Screenracer, Jet Set Radio Future: Multiplayer is a fangame created from the ground up as an expansion of Jet Set Radio Future's multiplayer mode. I have some pretty... less than positive feelings towards this game and I voice my opinions and critiques as to why I feel this way.

Meh. I liked a lot of this game, and think it's very impressive considering just one guy made it. Yeah, it's pretty unpolished in many aspects, but you have to take into account that it is still a work in progress. I'm sure that over time, many of these flaws can be ironed out. Idk about you, but I feel a bit more inclined to cut this project some slack. I respect your opinion though.
sadly development has discontinued :(
@@why3994 that's a bummer
I think there's some reasonable takes here, though it's still incredibly impressive considering the vast majority of it was pretty much solely done by Screenracer. I'll say this much though - there's actually quite a lot of hidden stuff here that you might not have found yet! The Immortals, for instance, can be unlocked by doing... something with AKUMU in Shibuya Terminal, which actually takes you to that trippy end-game level from Future that I don't think can be accessed in any other way. Also, there's plenty of unique skins and the like for different characters (including classic skins from the original JSR!) and even a "reward" for sewerskipping ;) - oh, and as for Sky Dinosaurian, I'm pretty sure that's in the works?
Honestly I personally do see the issues you bring up here but I still think the game's got plenty of good qualities.
I think one if the problems from what I can see is no frame smoothing
Title should’ve said “Jet Set Radio Future Multiplayer: I don’t like it… at all”
💀
Honestly the most annoying thing about jsrfmp is Screenracer quitting on it and not making it open source when the players were more than willing to polish it as best as they could
It just comes across as scummy especially when the sewers were never finished he dropped dinosaurian square and skyscraper district and said GGs I'm out.
Sure atleast all the patreon money is going into keeping the servers running but it just leaves a bad after taste of "Wait.. that's it?"
I mean... Based on what Screenracer discussed in the discord it's just mad spaghetti code that they stared at for years.
If someone else were to do a JSRF game, Screenracer said it'd be best to start from scratch, which I think is fair. It's your opinion, but in my own opinion I think calling it scummy to not make it open source when it was already a free game and not some form of creative software is kinda harsh.
Even Minecraft was eventually remade from the ground up because its original code sucked
I'm sure the various artists and modelers would be willing to share some time and assets with someone who makes their own, but it's probably gonna be a hot while before someone comes along trying to make their own JSRF game instead of an original one since they can sell an original game instead of trying to remake JSRF
It should definitely be made open source, nerds will easily fix it
@bamquazam all because he didn't want to continue the project? Lol
I've been playing the OG Xbox version. Was wondering how people were flying around so much in JSRF MP lol. Good to know.
It still looks fun though I might try it just to have a fresh experience.
My thing is that I love how much love jsrf is still getting. Its a great game that needs an update for many reasons including the visuals and the multiplayer mode. I want an hd remake with online multiplayer and voice chat. New areas and new characters to play would be nice. New music is always welcome and we need more of that dj.
considering the game was made in 2012 for the original xbox, its legendary. was very fun for me to play way back in the day, however i was very young and didnt understand the concept of it.
@@JSRFModCentral he’s talking about the HD remaster of the first game
@@JSRFModCentral oh he prolly mixed them up
Huh????
2012 for the OG Xbox???
Lmao funny enough Horde mode was actually my favorite mode to play with friends when its alone I got bored real quick but playing it multiplayer I had a lot of fun especially when it got more intense. Had a lot of hilarious moments in it.
We should've appreciated it more while we still had it
People haven't forgotten it.
I disagree in almost all of the video but meh, everyone's have their own opinion. By my side I'm grateful by playing JSRF online with my own soundtrack, it's a dream come true.
Great review! Actually have the same problems with the controls. Thought i was picky about that stuff, but at least I'm not the only one.
I also hate the ragdoll stuff soooo much. There is a reason why it's not a thing in platforming games😭😭
Jsrfmp has s lot of potential, but it has so much weird decisions made.
Doubt it will ever be revamped in the more problematic areas, so I'd just consider it, while very impressive, a disappointing waste of time
I've 100% JSRF but the one thing that keeps me from getting MP is the camera. It is so stiff and not as loose as it is in Vanilla JSRF.
Been playing it for hours, a lot to do and replayability. Also the community is pretty friendly helpful when looking for unlockables
JSRFMP might be not perfect, but it's really needed more than ever
It's long done.
Have you tried playing the actual multiplayer? I see no other players in your footage. have you tried checking your controller settings and camera settings? have you changed your fov? have you tried not getting knocked down by players and bots? issues you're having aren't an issue for me and I play using a ps4 controller.
1. Yes. I Have played this game with other players/friends from the community. At the time of making and recording footage, I couldn't get people because they were busy. It does enhance the game's fun but the tedium doesn't go away.
2. I have tweaked the controls and camera and while the camera can be made a little better, doesn't help that the controls are still too loose and the physics are still too jank.
3. If I was the best JSRF: MP player in the world, maybe. But that's not the case, and I make human mistakes.
4. If you didn't have issues, good for you. We had different experiences. That's how it goes.
Valid points, after a year of playin only free mode, I can say I had the exact same gripes about the physics.
Bro the developers sat hundreds of hours to create this game for FREE and you are complaining it has flaws, of course it has flaws is not 1:1 the same game what the hell
Instead of thanking the people developing this and spend their free time to create this you basically shit on them
Very disrespectful and I hope you will appreciate things like that free game in the future
My man, a product being made for free does exempt it from being called out on the flaws that is presented that can bring down the whole package. A lot of people put their hard work into fan games for free, but that doesn't excuse them for not being called out on when a product is heavily flawed or bad.
Also I literally stated that MP is not 1:1 like Future and judged it on its own merits. It did some things right. It did some things I didn't like that made the overall package not fun imo.
I said nothing disrespectful about the creator. I gave my honest critique of MP and that's that. If you weren't a fan then that's fine. You do you.
Wow most dumb reply ever markkus
@@bamquazam that bad?
@@bamquazam not really. I only found out about his game through RUclips about a year ago. I am on his Discord server, but I rarely visit it.
@@jumpmon3563is his cord still up
hey dude, it's a good thing if the game doesn't control like the original 🤣
Umm I have a question: does the online mod still work? I heard from Russian friends that they cannot connect to the servers
please tell me they still working😢
To my knowledge, I don't think there's a way you can access the servers for this game anymore
@@RisingSonic17 Oh... but thanks for your answer

Castle - Persona 4
what a pointless review
Talk to me. Why do you think it was pointless? Let me know
bro went to jet set radio MULTIPLAYER and played horde alone-
I obviously did experience it with friends outside of what the footage showed and I did mention within the video that it's much easier with friends.
But at the time I was gathering footage, I had no one around to actually do multiplayer with so I had to work with what I had.
Still doing horde alone isn't impossible, people have been able to achieve beating horde on their own. But it definitely not designed well around a single player experience imo.
Not everyone is able to play multiplayer with others
Some of his arguments are really nit picky. The game is being remade in a unity.
Which ones did you find Nitpicky? Talk to me

There was a lot of effort put into it and it's remarkable that it came as close to the original as it did, but the controls, camera and physics really are complete dog. It's a shame because it had a LOT of potential that's just being tossed in the trash without either more work or handing it off to the community
The overall controls and physics was truly what made me not wanna stick around for the game because it was too jank to control.
It was making the game not fun for me.
does this game have virus
Hi
Honestly, my biggest problem is how awful it is to look at. The graphics themselves are fine but it's just so janky and awkward looking.
It is very janky looking. Especially along with how it felt to play
Youre just not into it. As a kid, I loved this game, up till now.
It’s crazy JSRF is the first game I owned and played most, but JGR was the first game I played and never really understood the story. I watched my brother friends who owned the game play it. So technically I didn’t play it 🧐
