Just picked one up used in absolutely perfect condition for $130 USD. Crop mode on my full frame A7R2, giving it a 20mm equivalent focal range. What a beauty. Bright. Clear. Minimal distortion or vignetting. Perfect for landscape.
Considering I already have the Sigma 18-35f/1.8 should I get the 13mm? Instead of the 16mm sigma? Is there much of a difference from the 16 compared to the 18? I am so stuck
just try to pick one form your afiliate link, please look at the international links, been in Canada, I had to change website, hope youll still get the cut.
This lens is absolutely a beauty, nice built quality all out of metal, it feels good in your hands, has a clicky aperture ring and the design is really cool. I’m using it for wide angle portraiture ;).. love it!
The flaring issue is not a lens problem fully but rather a problem with the Sony APSC body I think. The Fuji/Nikon bodies handle flare much better. Probably your A74 will have less flaring issues with this lens than the fx30. Would be great if you may test this and report back. My A6100 gives nasty flare with all lenses - Sony, Sigma and Viltrox.
It really does depend on how wide you want to be. There is a 3mm difference, and personally id want the wide of the 13mm plus that manual aputure ring capability! So my pick would be the Viltrox!
@@BenGleasonMedia the problem is that i like both focal langhts, and it seems interesting that with the inbody camera corrections Viltrox's distorsion looks identical with Sigma's So because of that im just curios of general performance in terms of image quality and why and if Viltrox would be a better choice
With my model there was minimal of both of those. Hardly even noticeable and have never been an issue for me. It could vary from camera to camera though

Does it vignette on the A7RII? I have that camera so might pick up this lens for shooting super 35 4k.

I just bought 2 months ago for XT4, beautiful body, light hand carry ... happy to have it...
Awesome I’m getting one! But I’m wondering what variable ND filter works best with it if you have any suggestions, I would be stoked
Great job on the video Ben. Thanks for making it.
I want a 10 minute video of you testing the autofocus by jumping in and out of the frame

They should also make a 16mm f1.2 to complete the series.

If u only had to choose between sigma 16mm or viltrox 13mm which one would You choose? I literally have a hard time with that problem at the moment

I bought it and I love it for photos on my A6500.
very detailed Viltrox Lens reviews!!
I am looking at this lens, because its the closest to a standard 24mm equivalent.
I'm still annoyed that I can't find an exact 24mm equivalent.
Take a look at the Sigma 16mm f1.4! That will give you a 24mm equivalent and is just as good as this lens! 👍
Wow I need this and I don't even have an APS-C camera, you have me sold!
FULL 👏 FRAME 👏 is king 👑
@@BenGleasonMedia no.

Can i use this lenses for Nikon Z50 ?
Yes you can! 👍
Looks like a direct competitor to the sigma?
7:50 Sony 20mm f/1.8 G costs $800 as a first-party lens.
Surprised you didn't mention the focus breathing and AF noise...

He is paid to do so obviously
No. I bought this lens with my own money, Viltrox did not send me this lens. If they had I would have said so in the video.
your video is very good, I advise you to leave the microphone on a tripod in the next video.
