Elvis held an 8th degree black belt in karate... It was cool to watch him incorporate his martial arts skills in his performances...

I've watched this video over & over. No one can sing and perform a song like this other than Elvis. And when he almost swallows his microphone, it just makes you laugh 😂 . It's just such an unique song & I love Elvis moves 💞 during the performance 💞 Great Performance & the audience loved it 💕

Elvis was one if the pioneers bringing martial arts to the mainstrean in the states in the early to mid 70's so much so that he was filming a doco on the arts which wasn't finished due to his passing, the doco is named The Gladiators.RIP EP TCB&TLC

I did see a clip of a video awhile back on Elvis's mom Gladys, and she would make Elvis as a kid go out and pick Polk Salad and he never liked doing it. But that's all I know.

I`m an English bloke that was 13 years old the day I heard that Elvis had died and I cried my eyes out all day long. Over here as the news spread pubs closed and everybody went home to switch on their TV`s.
Within a month or two I was in possession of a book called, " Elvis, What Happend ?" `written by Red and Sonny West and Dave Hibler - three of his bodyguards.
I read that book - about the `darker side of the brightest star in the world ( as the front cover described Elvis )` as a 13 year old boy here in England and then lost the book ( apparently it may be purchased online - in the 1977 First and only Edition for about £75:00 / $89:00 ).T`ell with that !
But that book has now re-surfaced in YT as an AudioBook. Alas it is a computer generated audiobook, but better listen to that than not hear what Elvis`s bodyguards had to say at all. It`s tedious and must be especially so if one has never read the original biography. Occasionally I remember the knots where the audibook and the printed book coincide.
I was 13 years old then. Now I`m listening to the accounts and recollections of some of the Memphis Mafia as a 60 year old.
I`m only in to chapter 6, and it`s not looking good for Elvis.
Don`t get me wrong - I grew up on Elvis and still consider him the best live artist by far that ever lived. He was far better live than every other live artist I`ve ever seen put together - and I`ve not even seen him live, notwithstanding many others.
`No good buring truth when truth will out !
Ps, if you were alive enough to be there when this dude did this but were somewhere else....I`ve an excuse - I was born into the Rat Trap of 1960`s Lincolnshire.

Annie was the woman who had to pick the poke salad and if you don't know how to cook it you could die. In the south knew of poke and the poor people usually had to eat poke. It's similar to spinach.

This song is basically about a toxic woman. Hence, Polk salad. Be careful around Annie.

polk salad has to be par boiled at least once before cooking it. usually cooked like turnip greens. my family cut the stalks up and fried it like okra and the taste was very close

You totally missed the filthy meaning to this tune. Annie had a mum in prison, her brothers and dad were useless.... Annie brought all the money and food to the table. She did that in a special way...
He deep throated the mic, suck a little.... you get the picture. That's who Annie was snd while she picked the polk salad she doled out a few extra's.
Elvis the master at work. Unmatched, totally unique and beautiful ❤
