I’m gonna be so real, the Blackwhip user is right that his quirk is pretty great and that Deku’s lucky to get it first. From a utilitarian standpoint, it’s the best power Deku’s gotten and in my opinion, the coolest. And I’m saying this as someone caught up with the manga.
@@Bandit-iw1yh The 2nd doesn’t have the versatility of Blackwhip. The extra reach, the elasticity, stickiness, how it’s so completely prehensile, can be produced from any part of Deku’s body, used to absorb impacts, support Deku when he’s walking when tired, can be used in combos with the other quirks in multiple ways and do even more things in the manga that the anime hasn’t gotten to. Blackwhip has shown itself to be useful in such a wide variety of ways and has become so second nature to Deku that it’s almost as synonymous with him as OFA is. You can tell how much of a Spider-Man nerd Horikoshi is by making the first extra quirk Blackwhip and then giving it such a strong presence with so many varied applications and making its use so ubiquitous with Deku after it was reigned in.
Shinso really does have a great quirk, not really sure how it feels to be brainwashed like that but it seems like your brain does just turn off and reset like a computer. Not just brain things but say you break your femur, which I've heard is the most painful bone to break. If he was a doctor he could just shut you down and when you wake up ur loaded full of painkillers, probably kissed by an old lady, and ur legs in a cast. Or you have a massive injury and are bleeding out and ur going into shock, ur heart rate is through the roof. If ur heart keeps pumping blood like this ur either going to run out or have a heart attack. Bam! Shinso shows up and tells him to relax and it for the first time in history it actually works.
monoma: has a little heartfelt speech about how his dream was rejected because of his power and how he had to work had and put an effort to achieve it even if it means becoming some sort of villain montana: ayo what's this bozo talking about ??
I hope she understands him better as we see more of him. Monoma has really grown on me over time and has slowly turned into one of my favourite characters, I love the depth of his character.
It has more to do with the cadance of his speech contrasting with what he is saying. He comes across super intense, cocky and creepy, even though there's more to him and he's not ill-intentioned. He's definitely being coded as the potential villain mole at UA at this time so that also adds to it.
To be honest Neito (the guy with copy quirk) is annoying when he says things but alot of the things he says are true, he just doesn’t have much of a filter.
*One of these days I’m going to gush about how amazing Uraraka is. Because I really like her and I think she’s great! Both as a hero, and as a friend..*
Daigoro (the fifth user) said Izuku would still have 6 more quirks coming... but that must be a mistake, because, without counting his, there are still 5 more quirks still waiting to manifest. The first holder's quirk is the very basis of OFA: the ability to pass on quirks, which combined with the quirk his brother forced upon him of stockpiling. Meanwhile, All Might was quirkless, so he didn't have a quirk to pass on. That means that in terms of new quirks there are 6 other. With Blackwhip now appearing, Deku still has 5 more to manifest.
Since AFO technically gave his brother a piece of the quirk that eventually became OFA, I wonder if he's able to feel or sense what's going on inside the quirk. Like, is he always vaguely aware of the quirk and what's going on inside of it? Or is it only because big things are happening that he's now able to hear his little brother. I know the hype part of for this episode was Blackwhip but I appreciate Monoma for utilizing his quirk and not giving Deku even a second to rest after he calmed down. A lot of anime characters will sit around for like 10 minutes while the Protagonist or opponent regains their strength. But Monoma wasn't with that energy. And his point about him and Shinso having to do unheroic things in order to be heroes due to their quirks was actually rather telling on his ideology. It would be so easy to go down a villainous path with people telling you that you can't even be a hero because of your quirk, but Monoma doesn't acknowledge those people and still strives to be a hero. And that's true dedication. For Izuku, he just has to punch really hard or kick really hard. For Monoma and Shinso, they have amazing quirks. But they have to touch someone or have them respond for their abilities to be utilized. As such, they have to be more crafty and potentially use underhanded tactics to overpower stronger and more easily usable quirks. Which is actually ironic. People call those two villainous for their quirks. But in order for them to become heroes, they have to act in ways similar to a villain. Also, the reason why Monoma insulted Bakugo so harshly is because Shinso told him he got Izuku to talk before by insulting one of his friends.
The point about using Shinsou's brainwashing as a sort of psychedelic therapy really is excellent. As someone who uses psychedelic therapy for depression and seeing how incredible the results have been, I approve wholeheartedly. His Quirk is incredibly versatile.
Alright. I used to gloss over the character writing in this episode as top tier as it is because there’s a CANYON to explore here. (I separated it as usual this time. There was a lot to gush about.) We’ve seen all these quirks improve DRASTICALLY and at this point it may even feel a bit that OFA could lag behind. So OFA gives us all a MASSIVE wake up call. And it swiftly reminds us why this quirk is the KING of quirks. So let’s take a look at this beast of a superpower and what has changed. Let’s start with Gran Torino. Now this conversation gives away a LOT more than you think it does. But Nana lays it all out in her explanation. “A shadowy figure looked straight at me and he said the time has not yet come.” This is the EXACT presentation the 1st had with Deku in HIS dream when he said “We are long past the singularity point.” Now according to All-Might there’s no point the 1st has spoken up from his or Nana’s told experiences, and technically saying “A man” doesn’t narrow it down WHO said it when everyone before Nana’s hold was a man. And they even implied he may have been one of the shadow figures, which we also don’t know if they are the same holder to holder. But there’s now a SERIOUS weight being put on All-Might. For Nana, a holder said “too soon.” And for Deku, the 1st said “we’re late but we’ll all figure this out together.” I brought up just how unlikely the 1st was talking about Deku’s era when the power is probably about 200 years old to Deku’s ONE. And All-Might in episode 3 of this season made a VERY visible response to the word “singularity.” And kept to himself after asking Deku what he thinks it means. I think there’s a VERY good chance what was told to All-Might was “We’ve reached the singularity.” And he likely held OFA decades after that experience with it bothering him what that meant. That would line up with EVERYTHING that’s come prior with All-Might. All-Might might not be wondering when will the point be reached necessarily as he has a NUMBER of years to consider since Nana’s era while Deku does not. The question could just as easily be if it HAS been reached what does that mean for HIM? 41 years (All-Might’s entire hold and Deku’s) is a lot of time for peculiars to arise and all we can really tell for sure is All-Might feels one is coming with him giving excessive warning to Deku how weird things can get out here on the battlefield. And that’s BEFORE this call. I also notice that JUST prior to Blackwhip flying out, All-Might reacted. It’s not like there’s camera’s doing dynamic zoom ins unless the kids are perched in the right spot like Bakugo on the pipes last time. And I don’t think one of those spots is Deku just in the open air. Deku glowed a LOT more than when he looks like he has energy veins getting ready for full cowling taking form. Whether it was this or the heartbeat that was heard for the conditions getting reached for Blackwhip to fly out. Either way he responded BEFORE it happened. (Aizawa’s eyes narrowed but Monoma was just insulting Bakugo. We know the cameras have mics from the Iida round. So there’s reasons for their expressions. We KNOW what All-Might was looking at and looking for) AND Aizawa needed to be told by All-Might that they need to respond to this. RARE moment dad mode was more necessary than teacher mode here. We do know the foretold moment was unfamiliar to All-Might in THIS condition at bare minimum. All-Might went from a set expectation since the beginning of the episode to genuine SHOCK and FAST. All-Might WAS expecting something to happen today but this was NOT it. So this VERY moment is a brand new circumstance. We can gauge a LOT about Blackwhip BEFORE the holder talks to Deku. Because it responded to Deku’s interpretations and it was IMMEDIATE. Like there were set commands and controls Deku accidentally was pressing and it just went haywire FAST. One thing we can tell is it was causing Deku VERY clear pain, but there were no real signs of external injury. This is the same conditions as Deku fighting at max control 20%. Which the 1st holder made sure to tell Deku “You’re barely controlling 20%” in the dream. Up til Deku came across Shinso, the whips seemed to home in on Monoma too even with Deku trying to step on his arm to hold it in. And the moment he said “Get out of here, it’s too much! I can’t hold back this power! It’s like it’s exploding out of me!” What would you have it but the power responded even more randomly and took Deku “Out of there” and then Deku accidentally let go of his control, and “too much” exploded out across an even larger space. And the rest of what he said wasn’t a good enough command to affect what was happening and things just STAYED wild from that point. It’s like OFA was suddenly a completely different language to him. And the MOMENT he was brainwashed, Shinso has no willpower intents like Deku does and it essentially factory reset him to normal. Now we can get into the good stuff. Deku gets yanked into the vestige world when he’s brainwashed with…BARELY more shape but now we see both hands. And we are introduced to an entire new holder of OFA. I’ll leave his name and holder number unnamed for now. What’s important is we get ANOTHER peek into how clearly unlimited stockpile is. Here is not just a holder, but his will, his personality, his QUIRK, just taking FULL shape before him wiping away the fog that Deku can’t to talk to him long after his death. This holder came out because Deku’s thought process with Monoma became a single thought as he tried to block out Monoma’s insults until it boiled down to “Catch him.” And that’s essentially the code word for Blackwhip to fly out. And the holder said it’s manifesting your thoughts and your thoughts were simply too casual. Hence the commands going off the chain. Each emotional response will lead to it imprinting on the power in use. As for the talk about how these quirks appeared, he describes that too. Essentially when stockpile was gifted to each holder it rammed into their quirks and sucked it in. Now they are all funneled through stockpile making them as strong as the stockpile available. Hence them being stronger than their original forms. And at the very least each of the 8 holders found ways to use the 1st’s quirk and figured out the code word for that. Because based on that description not only does the stockpile sucking up the quirk of the holder fit each of the holders AFTER the 1st but also what happened when AFO GAVE stockpile to the 1st. So the conditions for each quirk is the same. The holder tells us that 5 new quirks will awaken within him. 6 including Blackwhip which he appears to be instilling that energy for his use PERSONALLY as he tells Deku he has his back unequivocally. OFA isn’t a 2 quirk fusion. It’s 8. Stockpile and the 7 quirked holders. And we now know 3 of them. Stockpile, transfer quirks, and Blackwhip. Communication from holder to holder is improving too. We saw in the 1st dream SEVERAL of them were reaching out to him. Not just the 1st. This holder is one of those that was reaching out. (I also pointed out that 3 of them were NOT. The 2 shadow vestiges, and noticeably All-Might’s flaming vestige did NOT appear to be reaching out to Deku.) And speaking of that communication…let’s drop this thought experiment on some of the biggest conditions here. This guy was READY to talk to Deku, prioritized exactly what to say that gave Deku the most information possible, could tell his time was running out and managed to complete every thought he had practically uninterrupted. That was PREPPED. (The 1st did the same thing in the dream saying there’s MORE but I maximized what you needed to see.) And this holder said the single BIGGEST line too to finish it off. “You will be the one to complete OFA.” That is an AWESOME line of course. But the INSTANT you ask ANY question regarding it…you see just how large of the scope that line is. He knows there’s a completion point and that is the best way to describe it. And if he knows that ALREADY that means it’s doubtful he hasn’t seen such a finishing point already. And a completion attempt has occurred BEFORE. Like someone tried but the rope wasn’t long enough, but it IS now. This is such a comforting thought to have THIS much at your back. Almost like the holder gave Deku a big bear hug on the way out. But this whole situation has to be SO derailing to Deku. I saw someone once describe each quirk like a new language and I REALLY like this analogy. Deku finally has been understanding the language of stockpile and his sentence structure is getting places figuring out how to speak with a little more clarity. But he just got handed a whole new language textbook and told you gotta be fully fluent with EIGHT. Not one. These languages will be assigned when each teacher decides you need the language and you won’t know when or where that will be needed. They won’t always be applicable all at once and you just have to incorporate it into your life style. Also don’t panic! EVERY word counts. The pressure of ALREADY training to be THE chosen one is already pressure enough and he finally was getting an idea what that meant. But NOW?! His work just OCTUPLED with COUNTLESS factors to consider. And he has to start thinking NOW in the face of 5 opponents at once attacking his friends right after waking up to see he accidentally hurt one of his closest friends the MOMENT he accidentally spoke one wrong word. Deku has been BLIND SIDED and honestly I wouldn’t blame him if he just had a panic attack and just curled up in a ball in the face of all this. Good thing he immediately takes priority to just have the one resounding thought of returning to his protective nature immediately.
I JUST found a conversation in season 2 during the Stain arc when they talk about how the 1st Nomu got turned into the abomination it became. (S2 E15) And Tsukauchi talks about how introduction of new DNA to the body would not make someone have a new quirk per se. Not all quirks work like OFA. This…flat out implies he’s done DNA testing on All-Might in the past and found a LOT. And there was enough precedent in All-Might ALONE to realize that OFA can make that happen both for the comparison to Nomu and how that would add to the knowledge AFO was back…and had the knowledge to ALREADY compare it to OFA. Tsukauchi and All-Might BOTH know more than they let on.
@@Cosmic_Dub no one is making you. I like to write and analyze about this show and deep dive. And people like that I do it. But I know it’s not for everyone.
Deku has a lot to learn. It took him a while to get the hang of using the strength part of the quirk and now he has to learn Black Whip and the other 5 quirks.
32:05 The irony that everytime they introduce Hogarth, I immediately think of Iron Giant and wonder if they named them after him, and now I got my confirmation
@@KyhlTheWeaver spoilers below it's 6 in total (7 if you count ofa itself) by order he unlocks black whip this season, float and danger sense during the war and the remaining three (smoke screen, fa jin and the one yet to be shown from kudo) during the brief time-skip after the war
@@TacoTuesday555 dw that's fair lol, i count ofa as one quirk since the series itself explains that stockpile and transfer actually merged and became one, while the remaining quirks are treated more as different branches that get powered up by ofa.
@@KyhlTheWeaver Nope. He's already unlocked that one in the anime. Spoiler warning for anyone who hasn't seen season 6 yet: 5th user: Black Whip 7th user: Float 4th user: Danger Sense 6th user: Smoke Screen 3rd user: Fa Jin 2nd user: Unknown Then there's the 1st users: Transfer and stockpile which was given to him, which formed AFO. The 6 more quirks line is just bad translation from the Japanese.
An excellent reveal, not every user of One for All was quirkless. It's something I just NEVER thought about, even though in hindsight it's so damned obvious. But yeah, Deku has another SIX quirks all juiced up by One for All that he'll be able to use. All for One can take quirks, but he doesn't actually train with them. He steals the most useful quirks, which to him is quirks that just start out strong. Then he'll find other quirks that make them better and stack them together for insane power. Deku has 7 quirks, plus his super strength, that are all amped up to insane degrees. Well, he WILL have 7 at least, eventually. He also needs to learn how to use all of them and master their intricacies. Not only that, but like you said, the previous wielders all chose their successors. So at the very least, every single quirk should be very compatible with the super strength aspect of One for All, and that's before they got empowered. Once he masters all the Quirks within One for All, Deku should be basically unstoppable. One for All was intended to be a weapon to stop All for One, and now you can REALLY see how it's supposed to be that. This series is basically hard work and determination vs taking the easiest available path.
Alright final match of the 5. They had to save big story stuff for the end. As much as I’ve loved watching these kids have these fun team fights, boy am I glad the story gets to make its appearance a lot more proper again. And let’s start with AFO fidgeting. 1. You should panic. He’s alive and well and every waking moment he has the entire cast in a choke hold. Guy is LITERALLY just sitting in the same chair he has for several months, and he SHIMMIES and every alarm bell goes off at once. He KNOWS that causes alarm, KNOWS that they are spending every cent POSSIBLE to keep him in here, and literally ANNOUNCES to the staff “Yeah, I know you’re talking about me.” HOW DOES THIS GUY UNDER THIS MUCH SECURITY POSE THIS MUCH OF A GLOBAL THREAT?! They talk about Gigantomachia and his other subordinates he has WORLDWIDE. And he’s literally acting like this whole situation is a JOKE. Like he WANTS to be here. We have an entire military pointed at him and he’s just saying, “You SHOULD be this afraid of me.” Worse, he says he can hear his brother. Whether it be some kind of obsession like Toga or what we just should all assume. He’s somehow aware of the vestige contact Deku just made in someway shape or form. And this man getting ANY info on what Deku is learning, seeing, or any progress he’s at should be HORRIFYING. This is the equivalent of him announcing to All-Might he knows who Izuku Midoriya is. And at THAT timing, Deku was controlling 5%! Now he may have just got some kind of update for all we know! All-Might, NEVER get rid of that ringtone. That is one of the single funniest running gags in this show for no reason. I love that Gran Torino is essentially a stand in investigator of the loose ends of All-Might’s symbol of peace work. He’s tracking the league, working with Tsukauchi, and is helping fill in what gaps of knowledge we didn’t get about Nana Shimura as well. She really trusted Gran Torino with everything she had and Gran Torino even told All-Might back in season 2 that Deku deserves to know everything about what happened. (All-Might has held out on MOST of that but he DID get around to telling Deku his quirk was stockpile….several months into the semester.) The history of OFA is a STRICTLY guarded circumstance. And I’m pretty sure either both Gran Torino and All-Might or JUST All-Might have come to the conclusion Deku should be ENTIRELY uninvolved with knowing it. Monoma just comes out with the single most real conversation he’s EVER had in this entire show all in one go. Way back in season 2, he was a really level headed leader, but as time goes on he just kept extending his absolute feral behavior because he wanted to prove his class better than Class A. But as he walks with Shinso he opens up. We’ve taken it for granted that this smiling twerp has been loving nothing more than to be an absolute jerkwad snot. But OUT OF NOWHERE the level headed Monoma returns to talk to Shinso how much he relates to his pursuit in being a hero and how it doesn’t mean you get to stand by your ideals simply because your ability might just capitalize on the counter of your ideals. He says this with NO audience, NO mic completely straight faced and honest. You could so EASILY assume he was just becoming crazy with competition. But you can tell with the way he talks about their shared “curse.” He’s NEVER enjoyed being such a massive instigator. But he’s always had better results being one. This is just a HUGE conversation and I was genuinely blind sided by this. I had high hopes for Shinso because he would often balance when he was a jerk and open up and show his softer side at the beginning. And he didn’t use anything mean spirited dragging people down like he did in Season 2 to prove everyone wrong. And Monoma admires that. What a great conversation. The team setups are SIMILAR to last round but this just goes to show that player organization means NOTHING compared to the players involved. All 4 of Deku’s team have the ability to severely slow down and contain the other team with Class B having everyone having a part in what is a gigantic combo that makes up a turret from a large distance. They are obviously very wary of Deku. And as Yanagi said last time when she called Deku spooky, (and Vice Rep Shoda lowkey suspecting she likes Deku with her love of all things spooky) shows what left a large lasting impression on them. Bakugo left a BIG impression on Class B essentially paving their rivalry. But Deku terrified a nationwide audience with his fight with Todoroki. Yes he has stabilized his power and is now among the strongest of the 40 kids by a SOLID margin and has high performance usage. But what if they DO threaten him enough? What if he says GOODBYE SKIN. THEY GOT NOTHING if he does that and they know he WOULD. They saw just how far he was willing to go and they don’t have his medical records that have to say “DON’T DO THAT. NO MORE PLUS ULTRA FOR YOU.” Deku is hilariously concerned if he IS brainwashed that he wouldn’t be present enough to stop himself like in season 2. This isn’t like the provisional exam where the other schools saw it and WANTED him to do it there because they all felt they had the counters they needed to easily counter and eliminate him. They ALL think 100% Deku is on the table. I HAVE to call out the beautiful music in these past two episodes especially. It’s genuinely stopped me a few times to just listen to it. It just really sucks you into the episode SO well. It ALWAYS does but man when new pieces play it just hits all over again. Well, let’s just trigger Deku in every way we can find so we can find out which one is more likely. Monoma over explaining his plan IS actually really great though. This is completely different than how he eggs on other people. He’s seen Deku mumble away with his notes MULTIPLE times and knows how to cast doubt. And then he goes to bring back an old favorite of Class A’s. Let’s victim blame. We are so far into this show now that we’ve seen no end of this across the show. From EVERYONE. Bakugo and Deku are two of the BIGGEST targets of it. And Deku literally watched breakdowns happen about these subjects and it got a tad more personal. Then…it drops. Ok, I HAVE to set aside the absolute monumentus circumstance that just flew out and leave it at All-Might wants to protect Deku from the past of OFA, but THERE IS NO QUESTION OFA has other plans. You know I got a LOT for this by now. Uraraka jumps in IMMEDIATELY after seeing this aura just go WILD easily destroying SO much. This has honestly been a LONG time coming for her progression. (And this is her conclusion to her pondering of her feelings during the provisional license exam) Her family has always been the most relevant people in her life and she saw their joy win out over their CLEAR and CONSTANT exhaustion. And she loved seeing that with others. That simple check on others would often lead to that joy. And ever since she’s come to UA, she’s watched this boy who wants nothing BUT the joy of others, but he often has to LITERALLY sacrifice an arm and a leg to get anywhere…and he simply ISN’T checked on. And she’s slowly been taking that onto herself even with her concern if it was confused with jealousy and obsession. She watches him literally get shoved into a mech with no questions asked until it causes him physical harm. She sees him getting ASSAULTED and no one takes him seriously or even saying that he was really enjoying it despite him being CLEARLY scared. And that’s the SMALL STUFF. She’s seen almost every BIG moment too and how people brush him off. She has to stop everyone at the camp attack so she can give him splints because his ARMS EXPLODED and he was running around untreated. If she DIDN’T show her maximum concern she’s always felt about seeing him under these pressures, they all were asking what is that or hmm. Let’s strategize around that. But she just says NO THAT IS NOT IT. This is her having enough watching this guy suffer like this. The fact that this energy is blasting buildings apart and she COMPLETELY wraps herself around him to give him ANY comfort like this. To shout at Shinso to help which ALSO gives Deku the outlet to actually RESPOND. Setting aside how crazy this is for Deku this is a MASSIVE moment for Uraraka. She’s genuine MVP of the whole dang arc from this move ALONE. I can’t even imagine how endlessly frustrating this is for Deku AND Uraraka when Class B just STARTS RIGHT BACK UP as if nothing happened. The teachers are there but DON’T stop the match. Yes it’s because Aizawa wants Shinso to perform and Deku to get control himself before just stopping anything but there’s just SO many more pressing conversations than Uraraka joined up with Deku, and we needed to keep them separate! Or is Class A and B truly equal or is Class A better? And you can TELL how ticked off the two of them are as they guard each other while the “fun” starts up again. This is likely Uraraka’s 1st exposure but she can tell with how Deku responds he’s sadly VERY used to this nor does he think this’ll improve. Ok. You know what’s coming. There’s a DEEP well that needs to be explored but I wanted to give all these truly serious and amazing character moments from this episode. I got OFA/Blackwhip analyzing for a Part 2. And next time I wrap up the 41 character profiles.
I'm on completely new territory here... I forgot I had previously only seen up to season 4 bc that was all that was out when I watched it.... 22:18 THIS IS SO COOL!!!
Deku not only getting One For All with its insane strength and other benefits, but also getting multiple new quirks after being bullied for being quirkless his entire life is something that I'm so glad happened. I know he isn't that kind of person, but if I were him I would go to all of my bullies and do a demonstration of every single one of my quirks just to rub it in their face. OFA is enough by itself, but the other quirks would just be the final nail in the coffin.
I remember really disliking the plot at this point and deku just getting random powers didn't help lol I don't know what it is specifically about it that irks me but I'm sure it's a little bit of bias because I don't really like deku that much. Him having a million powers instead of just new uses of his "main" power just feels cheap to me personally
@@marslara I don't know if I'd agree with you since it was never very likely that every single OFA user would be quirkless. I think within the nature of the power of it passing on from person to person accumulating strength as it goes on, it makes sense that the user's quirk factors would inevitably become part of that strength
@@samsny21 It's not that it didn't make sense, I just didn't like the narrative decision.. It was the writer's choice for deku to gain all the powers. I probably would have liked it better if he could only access one or two because compatibility or something but to have them all on top of the main strength quirk seems a bit much to me. And like I said I also just have gripes with deku as a character anyway so it just compounds as me no likey 🤷🏾♀️
Gotta say, not a huge fan of patron questions that are just exposition with a question mark at the end. "What do you think about [thing that happened]? Do you think it could be that [spoiler and/or actual confirmed answer]?" Come on.
One for all was introduced as a stockpiling quirk in a world with 80% having quirks. I basically thoughtit was a plot hole that he didnt have multiple quirks. I cant imagine any coherent reason it took years to manifest multiple quirks other than trying to create cinematic impact.
I just thought of a joke they could've done if Lizard Girl was part of Class 1-A. Mineta spies on her starting with the feet, working up to the legs, then works up to her... then u realize nothing else is there so he turns around and there he sees floating hands, then they poke him in the eyes. Or something like that.
Well on the one hand this will probably stop people saying how similar his power is to all might. On the other now not only did he have no idea how to handle his strength but he just spontaneously developed a new and completely different power from anger that will probably start speculation his quirk is not strength but evolution.
It's no coincidence Shinso's mentor is Aizawa. Think about it, he basically used his brainwashing ability to achieve the same quirk negation on Deku here. Shinso's ability to do so is limited by having to interact with his target instead of just see him but the outcome is the same, total negation of the target's abilities. On the other side of the coin though, Shinso's quirk is far more versatile since unlike Aizawa his brainwashing also disables mutant type quirk holders.
Kind of spoiler........... Did he use one of his other quirks in this episode too? I'm fully caught up and read the manga so I won't spoil details, but I swear he used another one at the end. It could've have been instinct or he heard it, but it kind of makes sense either way
Huh maybe? I personally like the headcanon that this entire time All Might has unconsciously been using one of the quirks. I know it looks different when Deku actually gets that quirk but it just makes so much sense
If I had to guess he’s holding off from watching it. I imagine I’d be hard to find time to watch it especially in dub without Montanah hearing spoilers

You can tell how much of a Spider-Man nerd Horikoshi is by making the first extra quirk Blackwhip and then giving it such a strong presence with so many varied applications and making its use so ubiquitous with Deku after it was reigned in.
When All Might's phone went off I instinctually had to stop and check my phone because I use that ringtone lol
Bam! Shinso shows up and tells him to relax and it for the first time in history it actually works.
monoma: has a little heartfelt speech about how his dream was rejected because of his power and how he had to work had and put an effort to achieve it even if it means becoming some sort of villain
montana: ayo what's this bozo talking about ??
Yea I don’t think she really understood what monoma was saying
@@ImaBobbyMudda She's quite 1 track minded about things and runs with her initial thought. Granted Monoma is a bit of a bozo lol.
I hope she understands him better as we see more of him. Monoma has really grown on me over time and has slowly turned into one of my favourite characters, I love the depth of his character.
@@suivatra123 can't argue with that
It has more to do with the cadance of his speech contrasting with what he is saying.
At this point, the Deku=Aang comparisons get even MORE apparent!

Technically he -could- be referring to the hidden bonus user that occurs in Heroes Rising. xD (This is satire btw)
Dub error, in the sub he says something like “you have six more quirks now” so it counts his quirk too
@@estagiario1234 Headcanon could be that he doesn't know All Might was quirkless and the 7th never told him.
Deku unleashed his spider man mod
The crazy part is that Monoma plan was perfect. His team would've won against Deku's team if he hadn't crashed out
The point about using Shinsou's brainwashing as a sort of psychedelic therapy really is excellent. As someone who uses psychedelic therapy for depression and seeing how incredible the results have been, I approve wholeheartedly. His Quirk is incredibly versatile.
I love the immediate comment about the aesthetic lol, so fair though

Uraraka really jumped towards Midoriya’s tentacles without a second thought huh... 😏
This episode put Ururaka near the top of my best girl in anime list

And here is where things start getting real for the rest of the series!
After rewatching some of season 5 episode through your reactions I’ve figured out I actually really like this season.
The dialog was translated oddly in this episode. It's 6 quirks, including black whip. So they should have said 5 more quirks.
Isn't it 6 though, 'cause Deku unlocks 4 more by season 6 and then there the two previous users who don't want to help.
@@KyhlTheWeaver spoilers below
it's 6 in total (7 if you count ofa itself)
by order he unlocks black whip this season, float and danger sense during the war and the remaining three (smoke screen, fa jin and the one yet to be shown from kudo) during the brief time-skip after the war
@@amarillo-ic2fu not to be “that guy” but it’s 8 all together. Don’t forget the stockpiling quirk AFO gave his brother
Spoiler warning for anyone who hasn't seen season 6 yet:

4th user: Danger Sense
6th user: Smoke Screen
3rd user: Fa Jin
2nd user: Unknown
Then there's the 1st users: Transfer and stockpile which was given to him, which formed AFO. The 6 more quirks line is just bad translation from the Japanese.
Say what you will about Monoma's personality, but lett's not pretend that this guy's Quirk, costume, and Hero Name (Phantom Thief) aren't AWESOME!
OFA is enough by itself, but the other quirks would just be the final nail in the coffin.
quirkless to quirk god
I remember really disliking the plot at this point and deku just getting random powers didn't help lol
I don't know what it is specifically about it that irks me but I'm sure it's a little bit of bias because I don't really like deku that much.

One for all was introduced as a stockpiling quirk in a world with 80% having quirks. I basically thoughtit was a plot hole that he didnt have multiple quirks. I cant imagine any coherent reason it took years to manifest multiple quirks other than trying to create cinematic impact.
Deku is a mini all for one lol
I just thought of a joke they could've done if Lizard Girl was part of Class 1-A.
Mineta spies on her starting with the feet, working up to the legs, then works up to her... then u realize nothing else is there so he turns around and there he sees floating hands, then they poke him in the eyes. Or something like that.
Car guys and Horse girls both love Horse power but for different reasons!
Well on the one hand this will probably stop people saying how similar his power is to all might. On the other now not only did he have no idea how to handle his strength but he just spontaneously developed a new and completely different power from anger that will probably start speculation his quirk is not strength but evolution.
Will you guys watch the heroes rising movie?
Check the description, it says that it will upload after ep 13.
@@jlmhamediaooh thank you
Monoma’s quirk has come a long way from copying one for a few minutes he can copy 4 for 10 which is quite the quirk now
It's no coincidence Shinso's mentor is Aizawa.
I knew it Izuku have a blackwhip 💚🖤🩵
The boy who was quirkless was given 8
Does anyone know how they screen record the anime without getting detected by the streaming platform?
I pray the anime adapts the last seasons better. 🙏
You guys should definitely try Black Clover !!!
Montana be predecting manga at this point
Montana so big brain.
Who names their kid Hog Hug?
Persona 5 reference? 9:11
Let's gooo
Did Kenny mention anything about stopping MHA at a certain episode to let Montana catch up or is he watching the new season currently airing?
If I had to guess he’s holding off from watching it. I imagine I’d be hard to find time to watch it especially in dub without Montanah hearing spoilers
he set in the premiere live chat that he is holding off and waiting for montana to catch up se season 7 will be a couple blind reaction
No way yal r waiting the day be 4
quirk
I love your videos!!! I would love to see your reaction to Infinity Train :)))
FIXEEEEEER
Not spoilers but in this season he will learn another quirk learn about not using it until season 6 to see the others
Oh No, wait, no, no, wait, hold on, wait, no!!!
His name is NOT Phantom Thief, is it!?
There's only one Phantom Thief in Anime world!
#1412
That is his hero name, since he copies or "steals" quirks temporarily
@@arielmartinez94 Yeah, that's clear. But I can't accept another Phantom Thief.
It was a joke.
