So a clarification: during the song, Satan talk how "he ruled over hell before Lucifer fell". This make it sound like hell and Satan existed before that, but Viz clarified that it wasn't like that. Ozzie and Beel look with each other meant to signify that Satan was lying. Lucifer was still the first to come and rule.
Even so, I would imagine Satan's really powerful, much more that than other sins. It doesn't seem like his position is ensured from above (bc Lucifer doesn't care), so he must be holding his judex status due to his own power.
Lucifer is MIA still so Satan can lie however he wants
That’s correct. It would be impossible for Satan to rule Hell since it was created shortly before Lucifer’s fall. He’s definitely the strongest sin who isn’t Luci, however.
I thought Ozzie and Beel was looking up at Lucifer''s throne, disappointed or wierded out by him not being there to rule...but I can belive he lies...but why do these kind of info needs to be confirmed outside of the show, instead of somehow put into the show for us to learn? Like, why do not any of the other Sins call on his BS in front of the court in live TV?
Steals all the thunder from Satan's introduction. Very lame.
Octavia hugging her mother could mean something else.
Remember in the second episode, her greatest fear was that Stolas would leave her all alone in favor of Blitzo to which he promised he'd Never do.
But now here he is, throwing himself on the sword for Blitzo and fully excepting what he thought would be his execution, in her eyes "leaving her alone in favor of Blitzo".
Makes me hate him even more
yeah the trailer kind of spoiled this was going to be her reaction, "you chose him over me" but at least now we know the context of that line.
to be fair, he did ask about what would happen to his daughter. octavia could have seen that.
@@TheRhuen You spoiled it just now, dickpaste.
I would love to see Blitz get absolutely pissed about that.
"I don't see why you are so upset about your daughter, you made sure she be cared for by a good guardian right? I am guessing that Viagro guy, he seemed awesome for a prince."
"Her care will be given entirely to my bitch ex-wife and her scheming brother."
"But that wouldn't have happened if you had died right!?"
"Of course it would have!"
"THEN WHY WERE YOU WILLING TO THROW YOUR LIFE AWAY FOR ME, YOU BEAUTIFUL BIRD BRAIN!?"
"I WASN"T THINKING!"
"Okay, okay. Let's calm down a second. Does she have any friends she can rely, its very important for goth teens to support systems; TELL ME SHE HAS SUPPORT SYSTEMS!"
"I- I don't know."
"Dammit Stolas. Loony has managed to gain several friends this year, very proud of her, and I have all of them on speed dial. One of whom is dating Beelzebub; so, pretty sure he's good for something. Then obviously Moxxie and Millie will look out for her. I've also told Fizz to check on her if anything happens to me, and that would mean Ozzie being on call. So my Loony has all of that, and; though I hate to admit it; IS AN ADULT! What have you been doing the last couple years when I wasn't fucking you!?"
"I WAS GETTING A DIVORCE!"
"And I was an Imp running his own company!"
Wrath being a judge who seems to do his job half-assedly & with clear bias makes total sense considering one of the *definitions* of Wrath is *"Vengeance or punishment as the consequence of anger"* and *not* due process...
Is Satan wrath though?
@@miltongonzalez6304
Yes he is
@@miltongonzalez6304 Probably? He is shown to have anger issues and is repeatedly soothed by that little demon therapist lol. Though in irl bible lore Satan and Lucifer are the same entity and represent pride.
@@miltongonzalez6304He created Imps who originate from Wrath, has orangish lights and is really strong. And Wrath would be the only Sin not present.
Also we’ve known it for a long time.
I don’t think Satan has a bias just indifference.
Fun fact: Vassago was actually a character Vivzie used over 5 years ago in the Hazbin Hotel pilot! He was depicted as an overlord sinner in Vaggie's story when telling Angel Dust about Alastor's arrival in Hell. There was another two-faced Goetia-looking bird person next to him in that part, too (who was originally the initial design for Stolas), but I'm glad that this guy was brought into HB. Vassago is amazing, AND he's voiced by Perrito from Puss in Boots!
Really? Damn, dude's got serious character range. And yes, Vassago is my new favorite 😂. I'm a SoCal girl and he made me homesick lol
Yeah. Afaik in the original trailer for Hazbin Hotels pilot, that 2 headed bird wasnt there but instead Stolas was. So I guess they decided to replace Stolas in there with another bird looking demon since they realized they would use Stolas for Helluva Boss instead.
blitz is now known as a hero among the imps since he said he is tryng to raise above what the royals did to the imps
And Stolas is now, effectively an Imp himself.
@@haku8135 he's the guy who publicly mocked imps as too stupid to have a master plan, and who tried to use imps to do his bidding, but his ego got in the way (as far as all the imps know)
He's also a symbol of nobility that they can freely dump on.
@@TrojianmaruBut he did do it specifically to pull aggro. Even Blitzø saw that Stolas’s grand ‘reveal’ was all a gamble to pull all the attention onto himself and away from Blitzø. So I’d label it as task failed successfully.
@@haku8135To be treated like that by Imps… it’s almost Hellhound level
@@EpicRandomness555 Hellhounds are above Imps, usually. Loona is considered kind of an outcast even by Hellhounds. A hellhound being adopted by an Imp is out of the ordinary.
You can tell they're above Imps because they're inherently more powerful. Loona can actually create a human disguise on her own, where Imps can't do it at all without magical items given to them by greater demons.
I see a lot of people assuming Loona's situation is common amongst all hellhounds, therefore Hellhounds are BENEATH Imps.
This is wrong, Loona is the exception, and Imps are the very bottom of Hellish society. Loona is bigger, stronger, faster, and more magically powerful than anyone in IMP.
Tex works as a bodyguard for probably the most famous Succubus in Hell, and assuming Hellhounds were created by Beelzebub, like the Imps were created by Satan, she treats them WAY better than Satan treats Imps, she's even dating one. And we see loads of them at her party.
I just noticed something about Leviathan: Her humanoid head seems to be into Mammon, but her monster head clearly not. She even grabbed the chair and stepped away, and the humanoid face put an angry face.
Oh well, being the Sin of Envy must mean that they must be at odds 24/7
The human head also blushed and smiled when he asked them out
I thought that she is literaly beeing Twofaced. Sweet on the Outside, bitchy on the Inside.
@@shanajeangedeon9060Part of me wonders if the humanoid head "into" Mammon is actually just into Mammon in a gold-digger way.
She is Envy after all, so who better to look towards than the sin all about taking and hoarding the most possible.
I had a funny thought that because of the two heads, one always gets more attention, making the other in turn feel easily envious
@@sinfull_kingI think the heads are probably envious of each other by default even without one getting more attention. One is more conventionally attractive, while the other is taller and seems obviously more powerful with a dragon head. Just having a longer neck might give the dragon head more freedom of movement for the pretty head to envy.
It is funny as all heck that Satan, Prince of Wrath, has an anger management guru. Like, even he knew he gets too angry. Lol.
This reminded me that Bee mentioned Belphegor in her intro episode when talking with Loona. She mentioned trying to snag some party drugs from Belphegor's stash for the party.
Which made me think that Bel, the sin of Sloth, does have at least a side of her that tries to lighten up and energize. Otherwise, why would a party hound like Bee trying to liven things up steal anything from Sloth's drug stash?
And he listens to the guy and it works tooooo that’s insane
Honestly, I think it's a nice way to make the character actually work in a narrative. You could have a character meant to represent Wrath just be angry at everything and snap at everyone, but that can cause problems when it comes to actually progressing from story beat to story beat. You could tone it down, but then you might lose the clear connection to wrath in the process. However, with Yogirt acting as a buffer who he actually listens to, it lets Satan demonstrate his short temper, and should it ever start to hinder the plot Yogirt can come in, settle him down, and then everything continues.
@@Mrryn Its not so much lighten things up more I need this to function in any capacity.
Striker finally revealed himself as the hypocrite he is. All that talk about hating the upper class and wanting to make a name for himself was that, just talk. He's a mere pupet and dutifully fulfills his role.
Blitzø is the one who actually screams what he thinks in everybody's faces, no matter who they are
He definitely hates Royals , but to have the chance to stick to Blitzø and IMP is something he wouldn’t pass up
to be fair considering he was given immunity i believe we can assume he was captured and forced to do so against his will, and of course, the fact he would screw Blitz was a bonus
@@Ricardo_Rick nah think it was all a part of Andy’s plan he paid Striker to come forward about being paid to kill Stolas and Andy grants him immunity for testifying against Blitzø and boom win-win Striker gets money, immunity and to see his enemies suffer all in one
He was prolly gonna be forced to anyways
I think it`s just personal for him, since I.M.P. and Blitz personally were such a pain in the ass. Maybe they paid him for framing, though. Like......I dunno, I see him not as hypocrite, but just NOT A RADICAL ideologist, if that makes sense.
The entire Goitia clan: "Lets get Beelzebub and Azmodeus angry at us; no way that can backfire."
To be fair, gluttony, and lust wouldn't bother the goetia much. Heck, if anything mamon is their patron sin since they seem greedy AF
The Deadly Sins, while they hold much more power than the Goetia clans, seem to respect the bureaucracy enforced by Satan and wouldn't retaliate against being outvoted.
It's even funnier when you realize that Ozzie is also a Goetic demon and thus has supreme authority over them because even though he doesn't have the highest title in their ranks, he pulls double duty as a Sin and thus outranks them.
I still can't get over the fact Vasago shares the same voice as Perrito from Puss and Boots.
Also, unless I'm missing something, he is a parrot/macaw instead of an owl. Which is hilarious and awesome.
Though I suppose thinking about it, Andrealphus isn't an owl either (despite he and Stella being actual bro-sis) but more a peacock. I guess it was just both Stolas *and* Stella being owls that made me think it was just a Goetia thing. But if that was just a coincidence then it makes sense and is more interesting imo: Stolas being bookish and magic-based so owl; Andrealphus being a self-absorbed, pompous deviant (plus the "plume" of ice behind him when he got mad at Stella) so peacock; Vassago being saucy, flamboyant, but surprisingly very intelligent so parrot/macaw; and even Ozzie now being a rooster potentially ties him more to the Goetia in the same vein as Bee to hellhounds, Satan to imps, Levy to fishdemons like the clown twins and Chaz, Mammon to the spiderdemons like the shopkeeps in Lust, and Belphegor to those slow goat people in the hospital checking Blitzø in for Loona's S.H.O.T. appointment.
WHAT?! AWESOME!!!!!
I‘m gonna start putting a rubber duck and a note with „brb“ down every time I have to go somewhere really quick.
Don't forget the cobwebs
Remember what they talked about as kids? Now Blitzo can really hire Stolas. If he feels like it. And Stolas qualifies.
True! :D
OMG I DIDNT THINK OF THAT
Stolas was never about violence though. Even when he goes to the mortal world to look for Octavia and he gets caught up in that studio fight, he was...rather pathetic, except for that weird toxic bottled water coincidence. If he is going to be part of the team, Blitz is gonna have to train him up from square one. Interesting to think about, and how that will affect their relationship as well.
@@elijahgrimm8052 unless he’s like Luna and mostly handles the paperwork and stuff cause he said he lives to read so that would be the perfect job for him
Oh yeah, he'd be the perfect new receptionist. If I were Blitzø though I'd have to stay behind and watch him for a while and let the others carry IMP for a few missions
This is going to set up a terrible dichotomy.
This is the worst day of Stolas' life. He is stripped of everything. His status, wealth, power, and possessions are gone. He doesn't even have access to his daughter for the next 100 years...
This is the best day of Blitzo's life. He found true love in so many people around him. He found recognition from his people. He finally learned to accept himself and his mortality and finally accepted true love from Stolas.
This is going to be a very rough day/anniversary.
Oh definitely. I just hope Blitz is supportive and trying to help. We still have one more episode of the season and I bet its gonna revolve around Stolas trying to reach Octavia.
@@drdewott9154 I think that it's going to be one of those situations of 'Of course Octavia knows what's going on, but she was so grief stricken she hugged the only parent she thought she had left... Only to find out he's okay... AND she is pretty close to being of age anyway, so why wouldn't she just take the armies under her wing LITERALLY in the next couple years?' The situation isn't as bad as our overly dramatic bird believes it is. Octavia isn't stupid at all.
Reminder: this hell version is not eternal damnation and torture but rather the worst aspects of society cranked up to 11. Thus why the trial was not fair, the sentencing was weighted, striker was granted immunity, the accused was not given a lawyer or allowed to defend themselves, and most importantly the court/jury wasnt even full as luciferwas absent😅
Vivziepop tweeted that lucifer has always been the first and Satan only said he was because he's not there. Bee and Oozi know that 23:55. Plus Bee did say the Satan was "hot as hell" back at season 1 ep 8. Blitzo
Makes sense. Satan wants to portray himself as totally in control. Very on brand.
"I could hit that.... Anyways!"
Fizz: ozzie! Do something!!
Ozzie: trying! But things aint going so well rn!!
So many great moments in this. Love Bee’s outfit, love seeing all the Sins together at once finally, except Lucifer for….reasons. Loona finally saying out loud that she loves her dad.
Can’t wait for the season finally.
Luna be like: "Thanks Step-dad for saving my dad's life." as she brings in a fresh towel and clothes for Stolas when Blitz was helping him wash.
It was actually clothes that she brought him
She was bringing in the jumper Stolas wears when he comes out of the bathroom. No one else in IMP is gonna have something in his size

BRO I'M STUPID AS HELL. I JUST REALIZED WHEN BILTZØ GOES TO DELETE HIS SEARCH HISTORY, LOONA IS PLAYING POKER. SHE'S A DOG PLAYING POKER.
Hellhound, and we've seen she's not colorblind by her pov in S1E3.
@@JediMasterRevenantMADNESS
There is a famous painting called Dogs Playing Poker, by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge, from 1894. It's just a joke referring that painting.
@@frankficcle7081 Okay that definitely went over my head.
1. They've been teasing Satan/Wrath for AGES and they did NOT disappoint. A great design and an amazing VA!
2. I love that even Beelzebub is disgusted by Mammon. Which makes sense since the difference between Gluttony and Greed is that the former is consumption for the sake of personal pleasure, whereas the latter is consumption *for the sake* of consumption.
3. To me, Wrath/Satan saying he ruled before Lucifer & the other Sins looking at each other and then the vacant Pride throne in response implies that this is a straight up lie. And one Wrath probably wouldn't make if Lucifer was *actually there* to hear it.
Vivzie confirmed that Satan was bullshitting to hype himself up. He's Satan, he'll lie about anything if it means portraying himself as the most powerful and dominant demon around. Lucifer was the first in Hell and has always been its absolute ruler.
Consider this. Satan came before christianity. Lucifer coming after Satan? Is cannonically how it happened, historically. So while Vizi might say otherwise, I actually prefer to think Satan *is* older, but weaker, than Lucifer.
@@ArilliusDM Satan I think quite literally just means "adversary of God" and it was only later that Lucifer became synonimous with the term
Really ,depending on what interpretation you go for Satan & Lucifer are separate beings (Wrath & Pride) or Satan is just a title referring to the Ruler of Hell, which usually just so happens to be Lucifer.
@@filipvadas7602 Satan just means accuser, and in the Torah he wasn't an adversary to God as much as he would just be the one to put humanity's faith into question. The book of Job had the story of Satan claiming God gave the man Job too much and that if he had nothing he would blaspheme, so God tested his faith by taking everything away from him, and when Job refused to curse his name he was rewarded with an even better life than the one he had before.
@@filipvadas7602 N... no? Not even close? Like, so far from the truth you're literally spouting christian propaganda? Satan is a name/term deriving from pagaan beliefs from far before christianity.
One thing I didn't notice until seeing your reaction is that each Sin actually had their own theme when they were on screen! It added to their character so much and it's so cool hearing each of their themes switching over based on their emotions or who they were
The thing with Octavia, is based off the trailer with her yelling at Stolas, tells me that when she finally meets Stolas again, she’ll be more angry than glad to see him alive, likely being more mad that he almost sacrificed his life for Blitz without thinking about how it would effect her.
Little Trivia here, Alicia. I had to run some research while watching this with a friend because it came to me to actually look this stuff up...
In the Lesser Key of Solomon (where all 72 Goetia's are listed and named), Stolas and Vasago (Actually spelled "V-A-S-S-A-G-O"), they're in the Prince category, which is the third highest, or rather third from the top. They both command 26 legions of souls/lesser demons. Stolas is the prince of knowledge, which is why he's assigned his grimoire, to access the human realm and teach them about the stars.
Vasago (Vassago) is the prince of Good Nature, which is why he supported Stolas the whole time, even to his dismay that Stolas took all the blame, and he doesn't even know the full story.
Andrealphus is not a Prince, as you may possibly think. He's actually a Marquis, which is the fourth from the top, however, he's a mirror of Stolas entirely. In demon form, he teaches the humans about astronomy, while in human form teaches them geometry. He also seems to command a whopping 30 legions of souls/lesser demons, and this court ruling gave him the grand total of 56, thanks to Stolas' 26. He's described as a peacock (which is exactly what the Helluva fandom wiki states about him, being a Peacock in appearance.)
Yes, I actually ripped this straight from Wikipedia. I'm not a demonologist, at least, not a professional one, but I did indeed do my research.
Satan: "I am the law."
Also Satan: "What in _Lucifer's_ Hell"
I can’t imagine why it’s a bad argument to say, “If I wanted to kill Stolas myself, I could’ve.” I think that’s a genuine good argument. 🤷🏾
Right? Every character has like -50IQ points this episode
The point is valid, but the way he said it made it come across to the crowd mostly as admitting that he would be willing to kill a Goetia if he felt like it.
Not only is the supposed willingness to kill a Goetia debatably criminal in and of itself in this context, but, more importantly, the declaration that he could have killed a Goetia is an insult to their presumed status and value was damning to Blitz’s case in an of itself.
I think it's like he's saying it wouldn't be hard for him and sorta implying he thinks himself above stolas.
In terms of logic it is indeed valid, but it really doesn't _sound_ good. Especially with the way he put it.
'HE SAID I LOVE YOU! HE SAID I LOVE YOU'
THANK YOUUU!!! FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN PEOPLE DON'T AKNOWLEDGE THIS ONE ENOUGH. HE FUCKING SAID THE LOVE WORD THAT'S SO HUGE FOR HIM
Stolas is forever a Disney Princess and no one can ever change my mind.
I’m so glad that they got Ke$ha to reprise her role as Beelzebub, after the behind the scenes drama from her introductory episode I thought that either she wouldn’t appear again or that she would be recast, but it looks like the queen is here to stay.
On top of that we got to see the other sins (including Satan the dragon daddy). I can’t wait to learn more about Belphegor and Leviathan, and how they’re be involved in the overall plot. And shoutout to Harvey Guillen, the voice of Perrito in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, for making a great first impression with his performance as Vassago.
Can I ask what was the behind the scene drama for Kesha and Queen B? I don’t think I know what you are talking bout
@@scarletrain6757 I don't think she was allowed to sing her own song or something.
Bel seems to be good with at least Bee, if not also Ozzie. Levi seems to be more… two faced, as it were.
@@SAKURAXEDITS That and her old agent was a 🔔end and controlling iirc
Tbf, it does seem like Kesha is all in with Helluva Boss. She loves the entire project so it's a no-brainer she'd continue to reprise her role as Beelzebub. The only reason why there was drama to begin with was her record label and/or agent being partypoopers when she co-wrote and originally sang a song in S01E08... so much of a mess that they had to delay its release and get someone else to sing in her place. As for just doing voice overs, I don't think anyone else has a say on whether or not she can take the job. So unless she suddenly becomes too busy with her own projects, I doubt her voicing Bee is changing anytime soon.
I love how the fandom collectively lose their goddamn minds everytime Loona calls Blitzø "dad" (including myself) and I absolutely love it because it truly is so sweet when she does 💖
This is the best episode so far in my opinion and that song was absolutely amazing
this episode really shows how unfair the system works for the demons. i also love how lucifers seat has a "back in five" sign on it.
And a rubber duck next to it 😁
I do love how they hammer in that Stella is dumb as bricks
She also seems weak as hell. Like everyone else flexes their power subconsciously when they lose their temper, but she's angry all the time, and nothing happens. She's just a weak, mouthy idiot.
An interesting note on the trial. Its specifically about an Imp using a Goetia's Grimoire. Not about them being assassins, or going to Earth (we know other demons go to Earth, although apparently "clearance" is required, so imagining the guy in Ghost Fuckers had to apply to go to Earth like getting a hunting license. So Blitz rather than go through the red tape to gain access decided to try and steal a grimoire and circumvent the system for his new business model. Although this does now add the question that now as Stolas put it Blitz has legal access as Asmodeus authorized the crystal for Blitz. However, access under false pretenses could come back at them in the future. Asmodeus' legions go to Earth for...I guess horny energy or spread lust reasons. Belphagor authorizes access for drug deals apparently. So it might be an issue that IMP is going to Earth to kill humans while under the jurisdiction of Asmodeus.
another line often missed is Satan saying, "I created Imp kind to be obedient", given they resemble him, this goes to the theory that each kind of demon was created by each of the Seven Sins, Hellhounds by Bee, Succubi/Incubi by Asmodeus, Baphies by Belphagor, the fish demons by Leviathan, etc....although we have seen multiple other demons wandering around, so either natural to Hell or made by Lucifer (who we know can make life as he made Razzle and Dazzle...who are also dragons like Satan...so theory Lucifer made Satan to help keep Hell organized, maybe..
and Blitz phone at the end the news story is IMP are the first Hellborn sentenced to death by the Deadly Sins to walk away alive. So the imps are all celebrating.
I assume if the court cares about I.M.P. killing people instead of fucking them, they would take it up with Asmodeus considering he gave them the crystal with full knowledge of their intentions. Though, considering he's a deadly sin, I assume it would just be a meeting between the sins rather than a court.
I always love all the over-the-top goofiness that this series has - but the slow, grounded, heavy slice-of-life scenes really shine in S2. The ending of this episode might be my favourite scene in the entire series so far, honestly.
_Blitzø 😉_
There is a bit of a funny and accurate dynamic with the deadly sins. Lust (Asmodeus) is besties with Gluttony (Beelzebub), Greed (Mammon) is besties with Envy (Leviathan), Sloth (Belphegor) is just.. sleeping, Wrath (Satan) is judge, jury and executioner, and Pride (Lucifer) isn't attending such a lowly function as an imp's trial (plus he's in hazbin hotel so they can't use him i know, but it still fits the narrative of them being the deadly sins).
Here's a bit of background on the two Sins with no lines:
In demonology, Levy, aka Leviathan, is mostly described as a giant sea serpent or another sea monster such as a whale or a giant crocodile. He/She/It (I've literally seen all pronouns being used for Leviathan about the same amount) is sometimes paired up with Behemoth, a giant land monster, and Ziz, a giant air monster. In those depictions, like in this show, Leviathan is usually female (or at least she appears female; we'll have to wait and see for the exact pronouns).
Originally considered the embodiment of chaos, she has been the go-to Sin of Envy since the 13th Century (at least for Christians). In the Dictionnaire Infernal, she is also a member of the Order of the Fly, a group of high ranking demons hand-picked by Beelzebub to help him run Hell. Here, she is a he and the Minister of the Office with the positions of Grand Admiral of Hell and Knight of the Fly.
Lastly, she is often compared with giant serpents and monsters from other mythologies like Jörmungandr from Norse Mythology, Tiamat from Mesopotamien Mythology or Vrtra from Hinduism.
Like with Bee-lzebub, Belphegor, the Sin sleeping next to Bee, is most often portrayed as a male.
Belphegor is also known as "Baal-Peor" which comes from the Hebrew "Ba'al-Pe'gor" and means "Lord of the Gap" (which, as a side note, is quite the nice parallel to Beelzebub whose title is „Lord of [the] Fly“). He is usually portrayed as an old man with horns, a beard, long nails and a devil's tail. But honestly, I do like the show's design, too.
Originally seducing people by helping them make discoveries and inventions that would make them rich, he is considered the Deadly Sin of Sloth nowadays due to the Binsfeld's Classification of Demons by real life witch hunter Peter Binsfeld (though it goes without saying that the "witches" he hunted weren't actually magical). Also, according to the Dictionnaire Infernal, he is also a member of the Order of the Fly, serving as the ambassador to France.
Lastly, he has a book about him by Machiavelli (the guy who wrote the political satire "The Prince") which was adopted into an opera in 1923.
Also, in-universe fun fact, as seen in S1E5 of Hazbin Hotel, Belphegor is listed in Charlie’s contact list. So despite the Sins seeming to not have a high opinion of their king (granted, he is an absent king, so it's not exactly a surprise), at least a few seem to be on speaking terms with his hellborn daughter.
23:13 "You're my light," "You're my heart" Sent me BAWLING 😭😭😭, I'm full-on ugly crying right now!
Stolas sees Blitzø as the one who gives him hope through his depression and the miserable life he was forced into. Blitzø was the first person Stolas could love freely in a romantic way, and he was his first love since their childhood.
Blitzø sees Stolas as the one who reminded him how to love again. His mother was the true source but his trauma and survivor's guilt shut off those feelings so he wouldn't be afraid to lose anyone again. Stolas reopened Blitzø's heart to love again, but first Blitzø had to be scared of being hurt again by that vulnerability, and as a result, he'd see how much it would hurt to lose Stolas' constant pursuit.
there's definitely a power balance shift going on from here. Blitz, with his newfound fame and with the fact his business is no doubt gonna boom from this is gonna have all the power in that relationship now, a stark flipped contrast to how it was before with Stolas as an Ars Goetia
It was a complicated plan by Stella and her brother, but one that works to their desires; Had they just reported that Stolas gave Blitzø the book, it probably would of just been a slap on the wrist for Stolas, and IMP probably jailed. BUT, claiming Blitzø not only manipulated Stolas into giving him the book but also tried to have Stolas killed means it's both too serious for so light a sentence and guaranteed to have big costs to whoever gets the blame; IMP found guilty, they all die, blitzø guilty he dies, in either of those two scenarios the next step is claiming that since Stolas was so easily manipulated he can't be allowed to keep his powers and position, and once a heartbroken and disassociating Stolas is brought to court about that he does lose everything. Since they probably knew the execution would be broadcast all over hell, the plan even had a response to Stolas coming to the trial; Stolas was painted as insane and manipulated, so he had to do something as outrageous as claim it was all part of his own schemes to take the blame himself.
I really hope one day we get a Behind The Scenes video for the "Mastermind" song like we did for "When I See Him". I can only imagine the look on Viv and Richard's (voice director and voice of Moxxie) faces when they heard Patrick Page, Hades from Hadestown, deliver his verse for the first time!!! ❤️🔥
its SO cool they got Patrick Page for this role, his powerful deep voice is perfect for this Satan
I can already see the "Satan is my daddy" shirts flying off the shelves
Fun fact: The voice of Satan (Patrick Page) is also known in the Theatre community as Hades (Hadestown), Judge Claude Frollo (Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, Off-Broadway), and many other performances (he's been performing in Theatre since 1993).
So Vivzie confirmed on Twitter that Satan was just spouting bullshit to make himself seem more important when he said that he ruled the darkness before Lucifer fell. Also, I’m pretty sure that sweater Stolas was wearing at the end was the one Loona was wearing the day Blitz adopted her, so it’s extra special.
Gotta love Mammon, he brightens up every scene he's in.
I hope he'll get an in-depth episode, similar to Ozzy
One about his relationship with leviathan could be interesting
@@mydogghost Yeah that would be cool.
Or him being secretly proud of Fizzy from breaking free, like some wallstread stockbroker seeing their protege succeed without them.
@@AlexanderForsmanjust due to the person mammon is him being proud of his number 1 money maker for leaving (and especially for HOW fizz quit) mammon would likely not be proud.
We’ve seen mammon is an extremely abusive boss and didn’t care for fizz’ well-being in the slightest he only cared about money and riches
Honestly to be fair, Stolas actually needed to be called out for letting demons kill humans in earth, like, I’m surprised no one in heaven noticed that at all
I mean... they're still doing that. Stolas's only crime was letting them bypass the legal restrictions on travelling to Earth. IMP still does what they always have thanks to Asmodeus, it's just that now they're above board.
They honestly don't care about killing humans. It was the HOW I.M.P was getting to Earth that was a problem. With the crystal now they're above board.
Like we literally see this season that another Imp, Blitzo's sister, has a legit job selling drugs on Earth. Humans dying is GOOD for Hell, the actual crime was fucking with a Goetia. Imps are the bottom of Hell, and Satan wants them to stay there, so Blitzo's real crime was trying to rise above his lot in life. They literally gag him for 99% of the "trial" and speed it up because of boredom to skip to the execution.
Nobody actually gives a fuck about human lives, it's that letting an IMP use the book to do something they aren't allowed to is the problem.
That is fair but Stolas was accused of trying to overthrow the status quo (I think. Honestly, the court was just looking for somebody to punish so Stolas could only frame himself as the criminal, no matter what the crime was) which is a much tougher punishment than he deserves.
Also, Andrealphus and Stella getting a win is fucking horrible.
Recall: Stella is canonically not smart. She’ll probably gloat about it the moment she’s alone in a room with Octavia.
She wouldn't need to. The trailer confirmed Octavia is pissed off because Stolas chose to sacrifice his life for Blitzo fully knowing he'll leave her alone. Nearly the exact thing he promised her he would never do in Ep02.
We finally got clear cut evidence of the class divide and not just talking about it
I've been waiting
Fun little fact for those who missed it the voice of Vassago(red bird) is the Voice actor for Perrito (the puppy) in Puss in Boots
Blitzø
Also I like the fact that they have a seat/throne specifically for lucifer.
But he didn’t bother showing up.
Hes got ducks to make and a hotel to co-run.
Stolas: "I would never do something that meant never seeing you again for Blitzø's sake"
Octavia: "...so that was a fucking lie"
To be fair, the fact that they were going to kill blitz if he didn't
Was probably a mitigating circumstance in that decision.
He said he wouldn't "run away with Blitz and leave her all alone".
He didn't run away. Intent matters, my man.
@@sweatygoblin2335 If anything that makes it worse. At least if he had run away it would have been for his own roughly eternal happiness. Stolas went there expecting to die *exclusively* for Blitz's immediate wellbeing. If Stolas had been executed Blitz could still die any day in his profession, even more so without Stolas around to bail him out of the extra bad situations, leaving Via without her father and not much to show for it.
@@tvftw1 y'all really want ANY excuse to hate on Stolas and (usually) defending Stella, huh
@@ZariLutus Nothing against Stolas, the thought occurred to me in defence of Octavia when she had to watch one of her admitted fears play out on live television
Can confirm, the.... *ahem* artistic side of the community has absolutely gone mental over the Dragon Daddy.
Nice to see Stolas and Blitzo bury the hatchet to some degree. I justI feel so bad for Octavia. This is her greatest fear from all the way back in Episode 2. Stolas has gone where she can't follow and is currently living with Blitzo. It will be all to easy for a poisonous influence to paint it as Stolas choosing Blitzo over Octavia.
It’s a fresh-ish start for them. Roles are very reversed. Blitz is now revered in hellborn eyes. A demon royalty of sorts. Now Stolas is the low class citizen and gonna be shat on without any fear from his status anymore. I hope their relationship survives this but I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t. Scared to see how this turns out.
Guys: “Damn Satan is fucking scary”.
Girls: “Damn Satan is fucking sexy.”
The Sin of Wrath, takes anger management lessons.
He also has a barbell in his clothing design.
10:53 VASAGO! YES, THANK YOU! I love you, Vasago, you're one of the only people in this wretched courtroom with any sense in your head!
Man, the moment I watched this episode I knew the reactors were gonna feel the pain
Blitz
Yea I also noticed Stola's song sounded very much like Jack's own song in Nightmare.
The fact that he’s called Andy in the captions as a reference to that one game
Its a good fresh start for them, as there is nolonger a transaction between them nor is there a power dynamic. It will also give stolas a chance to understand what blitzo is talking about. Also Octavia just watched her father choose to die for blitzo instead of staying around for her and Stella will abuse that fact.
This episode made me realise that Lucifer is the sin/ruler of pride.
So we finally have all 7 Deadly Sins in the HH/HB universe. We already had Lucifer, Asmodeus, Beelzebub, and Mammon before this. Now this episode gives us Leviathan (The fish lady with two heads) and Belphegor (The goat girl with the candle on her head).
Not to mention the best boy of the Ars Goetia, Vassago.
@@Iron_Blood_Enjoyer1933 yeah I hope we see more of Vassago Viv said he’s a good boi so hopefully he sees through the bs trial and helps Stolas get his power back from Andy and get sole custody of his daughter
I absolutely loved seeing Belphegor, she's so cute and eppy. Girl can't stay awake for 5 seconds.
Vassago is indeed best bird boy.
9:15 Andre, gay: "hm, whats heteronormative in this hellish royal society? Ah! Yes, beauty and attractiveness. I, a peacock have loads of such. As does my _sister!_ just look how *normal* we are!" "I must tell you how normal and attractive we are any chance i get, so you are not confused"
Andre you're not beating the allegations T~T
Pretty sure Hell isn't heteronormative.
24:56 Blitzø has never shown such a display of despair before, and he's showing Stolas how much he wants to save him and is just SCREAMING Stolas name, pleading for him to save himself, not to let himself be punished for Blitzø's sake. 😭😭😭
I know!! That made me cry so freaking much 😭😭
I have a theory as to why Lucifer wasn't there. This could have taken place during season 1 of hazbin hotel. He hasn't been there in years due to his depression. After he reconnects with Charlie is when the trial happens. He's standing with the other sins in his royal best like the others are waiting to go into the courtroom. He has to clean up his throne after all. However, he senses that Charlie is in danger and the contract was broken. So he leaves and that's when we see him show up in episode 8. That's why he was late and why his outfit was different when he did show up. Why would you show up in your royal best to a battle? That's why his throne still had cobwebs on it and the duck was there. He hadn't had a chance to get it cleaned off before he had to leave again to help Charlie. It would be cool if that was the case. Then we would have a timeline on events that happened between the two shows. I'd love to hear what you guys have to say about this theory.
I don't know why but for some reason this episode feels like it's moving way faster than others to me lol
The pacing is on the speedrun level here yeah. We have no time to digest what is happening on the screen
Admittedly, alot of stuff suddenly falls into place. Andrealphus put the whole plan into place and it hinged on no one bothering to look carefully and slowly at what actually happened.
@@josephperez2004 he knows they won't really care about giving an imp a just sentence
And so, after being name-dropped since the Pilot, Satan, sometimes called "The Satan", finally makes his on-screen debut. And it did not disappoint in the slightest.
Now, there's obviously a LOT one can say about him but I wanna keep this relatively short so I'll focus on the important stuff as well as a few things people may not know about him:
1. Since he's the most common name for the devil, there are countless different depictions and descriptions of him. And while not all depictions are big and red, most I've seen do include claws and horns, like in this show. He is also described as a great red dragon in the Book of Revelation. So alongside Asmodeus, his design in the show is the closest to real life depictions out of all the Sins.
2. His name comes from the Hebrew language and literally means "accuser" or "adversary" (which makes his role as judge in this episode a nice reference). It is also often, though not always, used interchangeably with "Lucifer", "Beelzebub" and "Bael", among many other names.
3. In Judaism, he is originally a servant of god. Though I've heard that in modern times, his relationship to God can differ depending on who you ask. Only in Christianity and Islam, he is considered God's enemy. However, Muslims don't necessarily see him as the cause of all evil like the Christians do (of course, some do, but to my understanding, it's not the widely accepted version). Rather, he is seen as someone who uses what is already there.
4. His arabic name is "Shaitan" where it can mean "astray" or "distant". However, in the Quran, he is called "Iblis". Though the figure is more of a Satan/Lucifer mix.
And finally:
5. In the Middle Ages, Satan was treated more as a joke, a minor nuisance who was constantly outsmarted by Saints and sometimes even just ordinary people. It wasn't until the early modern period where Satan became more powerful and thus more feared by people.
Did you know satans voice actor played scar on lion king broadway, judge frollo from hunchback broadway, and hades from a broadway. I can hear judge frollo in satan so much.
Also viv said mastermind is her favorite song so far
Code blitzø
I KNEW THAT SEXY VOICE WAS FROM SOMEWHERE 🤣
I have a theory; Stolas is going to be stopped from seeing Octavia, but Loona can probably talk to her since they seem to already have a semi-sisterly bond with one another. If so, Loona can help explain the situation and make Octavia see the bullshit her mother is really doing
(Blitzø)
Except there's a line in the trailer for the second half of season 2 which hasn't happened yet, so the odds are not quite in favor for this.
The trailer shows Octavia will meet Stolas next episode and she is pissed off about him being fully willing to die.
Blitzø only says the o is silent. He doesn't say there's no O entirely so I'm typing it with an O
Fun fact I recently found out, Loona is voiced by the same girl who voiced Alora, Mel's friend, in Arcane. 😊
Annnnnnd, then you remember we have ONE MORE EPISODE to go next month. And we still haven't gotten the "You don't love me, you love him!" moment. ALL FANS BRACE FOR EMOTIONAL IMPACT!
Side note, Loona has called Blitz day 5 times so far in the entire series. You notice it every time it happens.
8:00
To quote the immortal words of Yiayia: “YOU ARE SICK WOMAN!”
Is she wrong tho?
@ I mean, I’m not attracted to men in the first place so I’m not the best judge, and I’ve always seen Dragon-face as just the Scaly version of a Horse-face, but maybe that’s more your taste than mine, based on your handle.
One thing i’m upset about. Is that Asmodeus could have come out and mentioned the crystal he gave to Stolas to give to Blitz, because his demons are allowed to freely go to earth and do whatever. And since the crystal was given to Blitz from Asmodeus, he would then fall under Asmodeus’s juristiction to go
the thing is that the grimoire is an artifact that should've never been given up to blitzø in the first place. it doesn't matter whose jurisdiction he falls under, he stands on trail for even obtaining the book in the first place.
What’s awful is Stella will use this to her advantage Via never saw that her father didn’t actually get executed so Stella will twist it that Stolas faked his death to his daughter in order to be with Blitzø or Via did see the rest of the broadcast & Stella twists it to convince her daughter her father doesn’t care one bit about her hence the trailer "you don’t love mother & you don’t love me, you love him!"
3:57 that's a succubus, lots of them have fully black horns or partially black ones, like Verosika with the star pattern on her's
That's right the O is silent! finally someone gets it!
33:09 also loona and octavia are friends on social media
They need to stop letting Blitzø friggin’ drive…
When I first watched the show I was like "really more blitzo and stolas stuff all the time" but at this point I'm completely invested 😂. This episode goes so hard 😢
If you remember back at Bee’s party she mentioned how we was attracted to Satan with how beefy he was.
Leaving this for anyone who needs a copy-paste: Blitzø
You. You're a real one.
I find it strange that this far into the show people still see blitz as "The Abuser"
Glad we finally got all the Sins. Leviathan's a real baddie! Though she apparently doesn't have very good taste, considering she actually seemed to be into Mammon.
Seeing thw official HH/HB designs of both Leviathan & Belphagor was such an amazing thing to see.
Plus best bird boy Vassago.
You know, not being royalty anymore might be the best possible thing to happen to stolas. Sure he has no money and authority anymore, but now he can be free and actually be who he wants to be. And Blitz can be with him without feeling degraded for being the 'plaything of a royal'. They still have a lot to work through though.
I just hope Stolas' daighter will be okay. I guess she will be able to take over once she's of age?
28:01 You know it's bad when the sin of Gluttony gives you that look
"only death can rend this love apart" is similar to a wedding's "till death do us part"
the commenter saying "Stella doesn't know Stolas is alive" really thinks Andrealphus won't tell her?
There's people who hate that Stella is a completely horrible person and think she should be more complex because they think she's written to be an excuse for the cheating. Some people are just pure evil.
@@Kirbyman1223 yeah it I’m pretty sure she implied she r’ed Stolas too cause she said “he just laid there staring at the wall and I had to do everything” implying he wasn’t enjoying whatever she was doing to him
Not pure evil but narcissists do exist, and Stella is a textbook example of one.
Proud, selfish, and stupid as fuck.
Even Bee, the embodiment of Gluttony, looks at the way Mammon eats like "What the _fuck?"_
When Blitzø is checking his emails at the end, the "HIRE ME PLZ!!!!" email is the guy from IMP's commercial in the pilot that "lovingly murdered his wife".
She can see and sense the "why" of gluttony. Like she knew Blitz was trying to bury his feelings and destroy himself, she can tell Mammon eats like he does because he wants total ownership of everything all at once
Alicia the ice bird calls Stella hot all the time because peacocks (which he is one) find attractiveness a superior thingy. So by saying that he thinks he might be calling himself or Stella attractive albeit in a vulgar way, is like saying they are powerful and shit.
Even though Satan was lying about his being the ruler of hell before Lucifer, it would be so cool if it wasn't entirely a lie. If say when Lucifer was first making hell, he made Satan first to manage the other demons and create imps, basically making it so he "ruled" Hell while it was being built until Lucifer arrived to take the throne, and that small bit of superiority has stuck in his dragon mind ever since.
I find it interesting that Satan is a dragon humanoid. Plus Demon / Devil law is essentially pointless or irrelevant on higher level demons and devils.
27:42 Typical 1%er, screws up royal, all he gets is a relative slap on the wrist.
Basically. Satan doesn't want to risk upsetting the other royals by executing one, otherwise they might become uncooperative and cause trouble. The greater the gap in power, the greater the punishment tends to be.
This is one of those episodes you have to rewatch, seen it three times not counting reactions, and pausing at stuff in the background like the Sins' designs, the other royals, the eyes of Hell *Roo or bodiless sinners*, the other clearly higher type demons (it is interesting seeing the more demonic demons as a reminder this is Hell, we've just been seeing it from the perspective of Imps, like last episode where a demon doing things you'd expect a horror movie demon to be able to do in a Hotel throwing off fans), and of course Lucifer's throne. Oh licensing contracts, LooLoo Land is still the most we've seen Lucifer's likeness shown in this series, and likely thanks to that episode being before A24 got the licensing contract to produce and Prime the video distribution license contract. It would be nice to know the actual specifics of what limitations are on those contracts to know what to expect in the future regarding cross over .
But other catches like the lore implications of how while Imps say things like "oh Satan", Satan himself and the Goetia reference Lucifer in such statements.
Now word of god is that supposedly the excuse for Lucifer's absence is that this episode takes place between episodes 5 and 6 of Hazbin Hotel, so Lucifer is still in his depression. But after reconnecting with Charlie and the battle against Heaven he might decide to resume his royal duties.
Speaking of a catch here, The trial of Blitz was televised, including Satan's BS claim of predating Lucifer. However him knowing Lucifer personally means he probably knows that Lucifer doesn't watch television (as revealed in Hazbin Hotel), so actual world building lore implications. Lucifer disconnects himself in his palace making ducks and not seeing this trial or anything else in the news. Heck he probably didn't even know the extermination schedule had been changed to six months, no one told him, he wasn't at the meeting (Charlie was). Which also makes me wander if anyone even told him about this trial, or if they did he just shrugged it off to work on his ducks.
On that note head canon: Charlie or Lucifer appointed that therapist demon to Satan because of his anger issues LoL
Which on that note, Stolas' mansion is in the Pride Ring, so his legions would be his employees there, and Stolas loves paperwork. I would laugh if we got a shot next episode or in season 3 of Andrealphous having a mental breakdown because his new duties filling in for Stolas is less a powergrab and more a stressful job working on the paperwork between Charlie and Lucifer's pet projects. Going from his ice palace to an office worker, "I thought I was I going to be leading a demonic army in a position of great power and authority tormenting Sinners and plotting against Earth...instead I'm stuck here in this office going over paperwork for...this! The expenses, repairs, and resources for a blasted theme park and a...hotel?"
4:37 - ... I'm just now noticing this, was Loona playing online poker with other hellhounds?
Andrelphus mentioning Stella being hot constantly is giving me Luke Skywalker and Leia from Star Wars
At least they didn’t know they were related yet.
The consequences would’ve been the same if Luke got Leia pregnant 😅😅 Good thing he didn’t!
