Oh, its always fun to see someone discover and underated movie! Thanks!
I don't know if anyone has asked for this, or if its even in your wheelhouse, but I strongly recommend reacting to the Epic: The Musical animatics. Its a musical still in production (about The Odyssey), but fans have made animatics to tell the story for all the songs that have come out and they are amazing, gut-wrenching, and all around beyond belief to watch and listen to.

SOOO underrated - who'd think a Rocky-esque sci-fi boxing redemption love story would have so much heart!
But that's exactly what they got right: following the Rocky formula of being an underdog fighter story and an emotional love/redemption story in one! I gotta agree with you - this left me wanting more in terms of the Human story, & if big robots fighting in Pacific Rim got a sequel, than this one should have gotten a sequel too!! .... that ship has properly sailed now as the child actor playing Max has now got to be approaching 30! 😯
Fun fact tho: although a much more brief appearance - the kid also played young Thor in the first Thor film!

yes, this movie is SUPER underrated, but i have seen it MANY times, and always watch reactions to it, to see people knowing nothing about it, first dislike the dad, then kinda hate him, then redeeming him self, start to like him, and in the end love him and shed some tears... this movie just does that to people, coz it's so good with it's story telling...
