I’m 6’6 and don’t put the seat all the way back. I love my GV60P, so comfortable and great ride quality. The car is great for long commutes. The rear seats are best for young kids. Highly recommended. Great video
It would be nice if they had a version of the GV60 with all the comfort features and tech of the performance with the more efficient less powerful motors of the advanced or RWD version to improve the range while still providing the luxury of the car.
I have the Advance GV60 in Canada they come with the high end nappa leather the only real difference is the boost and the wheels and couple of other small things . Love car.
One comment about the sound level measurements. First, it's great to get some real data, so thanks for including that. But measuring sound levels in a car with active sound cancellation can be very tricky. Genesis says that their Road Active Noise Control (ANC-R) is accomplished using "four sensors and six microphones inside the vehicle". It's very likely that the cancellation is optimized for the head position of the four main seating areas. So by holding your SPL meter in between the front seats as you did, you may not have obtained the best result! Oh well, I suspect it's only a subtle difference. Again, thanks for getting some data!
I wanted one a year ago, but couldn’t get one. The Ioniq 5 that I did get is wonderful! Felt like I got 80-90% of the Genesis offers. Maybe next time around……
The Ioniq 5 always felt like the most bang for your buck option if you can live without the extra features, different materials, and unique quirks in the GV60.
The GV60 will likely be that "secret deal" of used EGMP EVs. It will probably depreciate more because Luxury vehicles tend to do that, and it's not as well known as the others. You may end up being able to pick these up cheaper than used Ioniq 5s and EV6s, because while their lower sales volume will mean less overall supply, that low sales volume also means not a lot of people are aware of the GV60 and they may sit longer on the lots and be more heavily discounted.
I'd put the Ioniq 6 up there as well if you can live without the extra storage space. The Ioniq 6 is personally my favorite EGMP EV, but I seem to be in the minority currently based on sales in the US which likely has more to do with new customers preferring crossover SUVs where if they were going to get a sedan would probably get a Corolla/Camry, Civic/Accord, or Elantra/Sonata.
Over the past two years I've watched over 25 videos about the GV60, yours is quite possibly the best and most detailed I've seen. Which is what I would expect from the Ionic Guy! 👍 Since I've been driving the car about 7 months longer than you got to, I have some additional observations. FYI I have the Advanced model, as you said at the end, plenty of power and all of the bells and whistles I needed. Over the 7500 miles I've driven so far, the car says I've averaged 3.4 mi/kw. That's a mix of local and road trips. On road trips I usually see between 3.2 - 3.6. So for whatever reason, my efficiency has been quite a bit better than your test. I drive almost exclusively in comfort mode, and usually don't go too far over the speed limit, though I'm not trying to hypermile at all. Also I'm in California so the weather is generally mild. Maybe it's Advanced vs. Performance though I wouldn't expect that much difference. The roof rack is actually functional, not just decorative. My car has crossbars. I didn't really want them, but the dealer already had them on and I wasn't charged for them. Who knows if I'll ever use them, but people seem to think they look cool. I wonder if they measurably affect efficiency. You mentioned the 360 cameras, which are great, but you didn't mention or show the "drone" mode where you can position a virtual camera anywhere around the car. Until recently I thought that was cool but useless, but now I've discovered that this mode is really helpful for parallel parking. You can move the camera around to different angles to see exactly how you are positioned relative to the curb and other cars. Unfortunately the RWD model doesn't have this, only the Advanced and Performance. There are so many storage spots that I think you missed one - there's a flip down sunglasses holder above the rear view mirror. Speaking of sunglasses, I had to buy new ones so that I could see the HUD, the Ray-Bans I had were polarized. I suggest checking out Flying Eyes, they are designed for pilots and motorcyclists but work great for driving as well. Super light and flexible. I don't have a discount code but they should be easy to find on RUclips. You are possibly the only reviewer I've seen that has mentioned that adaptive cruise can be separated from lane centering. This is a fantastic feature. In fact I just turn on lane centering immediately when I turn on the car, I have yet to find a situation where that was a problem. My only complaint is that I wish that I could set that as a default so that I didn't have to remember to turn it on every time. Same complaint for i-Pedal, I just want it automatically on when I start the car (and I hate that I have to re-enable i-Pedal after going into reverse). I agree with you that the remote fob is poorly designed, and the iPhone app also is a poor UI experience. I really love the jog wheel for controlling the infotainment screen. It's amazing that this also works very well not just with the native UI, but also with CarPlay. I use the jog wheel about 70% of the time and the touch screen about 30%. So I'm glad they have both options. I think you recorded this video a while ago (before you moved), so you didn't get to experience the OTA update that dropped a week ago. This update is FANTASTIC in the GV60. Apple Maps turn by turn directions now show up in the HUD, and you can also display Apple Maps in the screen in front of the steering wheel. Oh, and don't forget wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. It almost feels like a new car! The screen that shows up when charging is improved, now I can easily read it from outside the car (for example to see the estimated charging time). They also added new options for the user customizable buttons. Before I couldn't really figure out anything I wanted to program into those buttons, but now I use them frequently. This OTA update is a home run for GV60 owners. Is this car perfect? of course not. But even after 7,500 miles I still get a thrill every time I drive it, even to the grocery store. And it's awesome for road trips. Over time it's going to keep getting better - with the OTA update last week, and hopefully in the next few months with Tesla Supercharger access. I have to agree with you that it is puzzling that this car doesn't sell in larger quantities. Anectdotally, I do see them on the road a bit more than I did six months ago. It is kind of cool to be in a somewhat exclusive club. There's also a great online GV60 community at genesisowners dot com. Thanks for the great review and keep up the good work.
I appreciate hearing your comments! I just missed out on the update unfortunately. I would have loved to experience 3rd party maps in the HUD. You guys definitely got the best update this time around.
52,000 is a great price on the GV60 rwd but try to find them at any dealerships here in MA. The two that were within 50 to 100 miles from me only had the performance.
Same problem here in MA getting the lower trim levels with the Ioniq 6 - seems to be AWD or nothing.I understand dealers make more money on the higher trim models, but Hyundai and Genesis would sell a lot more cars overall if they just produced AND allocated more of the lower trim levels, IMO. I managed to snag an Ioniq 6 SE AWD (with 18” wheels) In Transit, and had to wait a month for delivery, but it was worth it. I’m consistently getting 350 miles of range in Normal mode.
@@wjlundmarkjr congratulations on your new Ioniq 6, that’s great mileage especially for an AWD. Yeah you have about as much chance at finding a Unicorn than a rwd Ioniq 6 or 5 at the dealerships. I ended up getting a 2022 AWD Ioniq 5 in 2022. No regrets I love it much better than the Tesla Model 3 i was driving before.
This Maine-ee-ack noted that as well. He will fit right in. Now he has to learn to drive with his right foot on the floor and both eyes closed- a requirement for Rt. 128
They really need to just get over the large wheel look. These cars would easily break 300 miles with an 18in wheel. Would be a comfier ride too. Idk why people think high end means sporty. I want a comfy drive.
I have a 2024 RWD. Car is great. Plenty of acceleration in sport setting. Would like to see a 2026 have the NACS plug, precondition button, better dealership experience. The range with a new battery pack should be 315-320 for RWD. In mixed driving I average 3.5 M/KW. Taking it on a long road trip and will see what I get and post. There are software things I would like. Charging in 5% increments instead of 10%. Would like a trunk pass through for longer items. Headlights are great. My lease expires in 11/26. I will see what they have at that date. Need a BRG color. The highlighter yellow was not a good look. If I did not need a hatchback, I would go with the RWD Ioniq 6. I like the 2025 Ioniq 5 as well.
This car is tempting used. The colors and styling of the GV60 are just a little off for me but I like the extra power and the design of the controls. The gear selector on the GV60 amused me when I first saw it but now that's worn off. In the end though a 2025 Ioniq 5 is a little larger, much more available and seems like a much better deal.
Hello Corbin , yes everything you said is true amazing car , I have had mine now for just over 2 yrs its never missed a beat I did buy the Advance I really was looking for the better range and to be honest I like the wheels much better on the Advance , one thing in Canada the Advance comes with the high end Napa leather so other than the wheels and the button on the steering wheel they look the same . Its really hard to pick anything wrong with the car the only things I would say the center console would be better if it was a slider as its very hard to get to the UBC sockets also to reach anything in the pass through, a deeper storage would have been better, the other thing is the A/C vents could be better its all so miner I can live with it. I have I have been trying to upload the new software to get the Apple car play it will not let me so I will have to contact the dealership the car is saying the latest OTA was done last week so far I dont see anything different. Great video thank you. all the best from Vancouver Island Canada .
The GV60 has ccIC Navigation rather than Gen5W. Not exactly sure what the difference is but clearly its different since they were able to implement wireless carplay/AA with an OTA.
Beautiful vehicle. Agreed. The brake regen needs to be stronger in the Hyundai Group. I like the fake dual shift automatic and fake shifting noises but I could turn them off if I want to. I don't even use Sport mode much in my Ioniq6. I like them because back in the day I drove manual shifts. A Toyota Corolla and Mazda Sport GT and I loved that shifting sound. But I don't know I would use those sounds in an EV. I'd have to test drive those vehicles with sounds.
70 mph range on the Advanced model is about 250 miles, combined driving is about 270 miles, and city driving is about 300 miles in 60F to 90F temps. Consumer reports tested highway range at 251 miles.
That seems par for the course for the original Ioniq 5 and EV6 AWD models. Below freezing temperatures and high elevation will get fewer miles as I found out the first winter I owned one, but that's true with all vehicles and I quickly learned my lesson after getting to the charging station 3 miles below 0%.
@TheIoniqGuy, what dou thik about front turn indicators placed on the wheels arch, are they visible? I am just the EV enthusiast and ad this point can't afford one but I like to watch everything about them. Your channel is among the first one's I watched since you started doing reviews. But, who knows, maybe some day in the future (hopefully in the not too distant future) I could afford one and your channel will help me to decide witch one. :) Greetings from Croatia!
What features do you lose if you choose the RWD version? Ideally, I'd like a RWD version that still has all of the luxury and tech features that the advanced or performance has.
Standard has smaller wheels. Also doesn't have leather seats, ventilated seats, rear door shades, aluminum trim, leatherette instrument panel, heated steering wheel, surround view monitor, remote park assist, vehicle to load, B&O sound system, active noise control, blind spot view monitor, park collision avoidance assist, rear occupant alert, and acceleration
We test drove both, but bummed/surprised for 2025 GV60 doesn't get rear window wiper or bigger battery that Ioniq 5 does. It still has run flats/no spare and weird split back window. Any idea why their luxury grand doesn't get improvements first?
It's weird seeing that someone say it doesn't have a rear wiper like the Ioniq 5 does as all that's ever been talked about is how the Ioniq 5 doesn't have a rear wiper since 2022. I think the GV60 will get one next year, but do think the new Ioniq 5 is the best bang for your buck.
One error! The roof rails are indeed functional, and Genesis sells a cross bar accessory. According to the accessory installation manual, the load rating is: MAX LOAD 165 LBS / 75 KG EVENLY DISTRIBUTED; MAX SPEED 75 MPH / 120 KPH.
While i agree with weight cut to improve range, the 2-5 OUNCES you save by removing the front FRUNK lid, is nothing. Its as much weight as someone not going to the bathroom or eating a pizza before they get into a car. I even put a full size spare in my kona 2024 ev and have noticed absolutely NO range reduction. 50 lbs is like having a dog in your car, you will get 0.002 less range. Genesis is just a more expensive hyundai, I cant justify it.
We loved our Ioniq 5 and thought the gv60 would be a better car, but we all hated the gv60 performance. The power was uncontrollable, the interior was cramped and claustrophobic, at times it has worse ride, was not much quieter. The audio was better: but not great. It was not worth the price premium. Maybe the advance version would be a better deal. We ended up selling the gv60 and kept the Ioniq.
Exactly how we felt. The open-ness of the Ioniq 5 felt like a living room, while gv60 felt like a much tighter, confined cranny. I def disagree that this is a luxury Ioniq 5. If you’ve ever sat in one of these vs Ioniq5 back to back you will think they’re on a completely different platform. That said, I would buy a luxury Ioniq 5 in a heartbeat if it can come with the cross stitching and luxury pad materials and sound system found in the Genesis.
@@pewpewpower my kids much preferred the 2nd row of the Ioniq. It’s surprisingly spacious, esp behind my tall husband. Our rivian, which replaced the Ioniq has much less 2 d row legroom compared to the Ioniq where the kids are always asking my husband to move up the front seat.
exactly! If anyone plans to take ANY rear passengers, it’s a no brainer. Consider GV60 only if you are single or only plan to ferry one other passenger.
Own an ioniq5, wanted more luxury, bought the gv60P, and absolutely love it. My favorite car ever. Not getting the hate, honestly. To each their own I guess.
The performance model only offers 235 miles, not 248. Which is its weak point. Winter ranges can be as low as 190 miles. Other issues I have had with my 2023 GV60 are 5 major recalls, the nappa leather on the driver side prematurely peeling only after one month. The latest issue is that the low and high pitch horns stop working. All of these issues have been compounded by a piss poor service department. Be warned that if you have an issue with any Genesis, it can take weeks to repair it. I can't honestly recommend buying this car or any Genesis until their uality and supply chain drastically improves.
Don’t hate me: Your reviews are fantastic, but…. If you print out a text of your dialogue, you will see WAY too many uses of the word ‘Really’. Really.
@@TheIoniqGuy That should have been "82 instances... I can see how that would really stick out" 🤣 On the other hand, I have no problem with your vocabulary choices. My vote is - don't worry about it, keep doing your thing.

We test drove both, but bummed/surprised for 2025 GV60 doesn't get rear window wiper or bigger battery that Ioniq 5 does. It still has run flats/no spare and weird split back window. Any idea why their luxury grand doesn't get improvements first?
The I5 came out one year earlier so the GV60 MCR will be in 2026. Improvements coming!
Thanks for clarifying!
I would spend a little more and get the EGV70 instead. More space in the back and it looks nicer overall.
GV60 performance is 70 grand way too expensive for me.
The electrified GV70 is similar.
Don’t hate me:
Your reviews are fantastic, but….
If you print out a text of your dialogue, you will see WAY too many uses of the word ‘Really’.
Really.
82 instances... I can see how that would stick out
@@TheIoniqGuy That should have been "82 instances... I can see how that would really stick out" 🤣
On the other hand, I have no problem with your vocabulary choices. My vote is - don't worry about it, keep doing your thing.
I don't like the design. I think Ioniq 5 is better. There is a reason why it did not sell well as Ioniq 5.
This looks like a downgrade from my Ioniq 5 limited. I can see why they aren't selling
Waaaaay uglier than the ionic 5.....overall smaller car....so really I'm not sure what exactly did you "love" about it!?
Did you watch the video? I talk about many things I like about it.
this car is ugly
😂 Beauty is what is on the inside, literally with this car tho. 😅
I would spend a little more and get the EGV70 instead. I hope they make a sportier version for 2025 or 2026 tho.
