Michael I'm so impressed by how talented and industrious you are! And Oakley is absolutely adorable, I can easily see her and Huck having a blast together! Have a great week!
I think that is the dirtiest you have been in a long time in one of your videos. I am happy to see you got to spend time with your Dad and your friends. I hope you and Oakley enjoyed your time at the lake. You live in a beautiful area there in the ADK. Happy to see you again Mike and have a happy Sunday!
Loved seeing your dad he is funny. Haven't seen your sisters in forever. I'm so glad you are posting more often. I didn't understand anything past the flange 😊
Man, I really enjoy your channel and explanations. I'd like to bring my bus to you. I want a solar system that can run my bus anywhere any time. You have mad skills and I'd love to spend a day or two spending time working with you on projects. Thank you for all you share. Hug the little wonder dog!
Your dog can be born to be Carpenter and he his funny when I watch him play around make me remember my Border Colley when she was puppy she was the little one on 14 puppy and the same color now she his over 7 Years still love to play and very active
I had to leave a comment as I've just found a couple of things while "tapping" my tank. First of all the pickup tube I ordered from Amazon was really thin. See, there's a reason you find that they are bent in a "U" shape when pictured in Amazon ads. THEY ARE THIN. No thicker than a regular wire. I could hardly suck anything through it. Secondly, I was unfortunate in the fact that the 21-year-old Ford E-450 box truck I had bought had to have all of its floor joists replaced since they were badly rusted out. The result was that I had to strip away the floor altogether. The fortunate turn of events was I had unprecedented access to the top of my diesel tank, and what I would find was that the tank had three "pick-ups." Two were in use going to the engine while the third pick-up was capped off. A much thicker and more viable pick-up than the one I would have had to install.
Last week an Motorhome was parked in town. Two men were found dead inside. The cause ruled carbon dixioxiode. Make sure everyone check heaters, exhaust pipes L.P. hot water heater heaters. And a smoke and carbon dixioxiode detectior should be in everyone's must have equipment list.
Since you have the backhoe there you should dig out a pit in the garage floor and line it with concrete or steel so it can't cave in if you can. Would make a lot of your under-bus stuff easier.
a smart idea would be to make sure that the line to the engine is sitting deeper in the tank than the line for the heater , that way when the heater stops you still have enough diesel to drive the thing to the gasstation
Great video and very informative. Thanks for sharing, Mike. Oh, and thanks for letting us know you’re like us and pull bone-head moves with the heater vent hole!🤭😄 I thought I was the only person capable of such “boneheadedness”. Someone wise once said, “mistakes are opportunities to learn.” I’d rather learn from everyone else’s! 😂
I don't know why others have had so many issues with their diesel heaters so I hope yours runs better and you don't wait until winter to discover any issues :( Rich
Are you going to dig and concrete a pit? Would make working underneath a vehicle so much easier! Also, suggestion for a next bus build, convert 5 identical buses/vans (nearly) at the same time! Then you apply lessons learned (by doing) almost immediately, but you still don't mass produce which would probably lessen the fun factor for you.
Put the hole that you drilled out back in the wrong hole, patch it on the back and spackle it. More work than buying new plywood but would be great content. *hugz*
I"m not sure who long your fuel line is from the tank to the heater but I was told the fuel pump "pushes" better than it "pulls" so I mount mine near the fuel source.

Gosh Mike you know so much and when you make a mistake you say so. And you didn’t bash your friend for making a mistake! I appreciate that about you!
I love when your dad comes to visit. Money cannot buy the wealth of knowledge and wisdom he has.
As a dad of adult offspring, I love when your dad shows up to help 😊
Wow, talking about the heater, that was a mouthful and some fast talking. Your AWESOME! Your brain is like a super computer.

I concur, “School of Mike”! Best line, ever! Another job well done!

Aweee wished you would have filmed your pup swimming in the lake

Mike, you're a true friend!
Mike is a school bus master!!!
Have fun at the lake!

Depending on the style of wire, 10g can be good upto 40amps.
good that you help te other poeple that is way i like your video,s
keep going
Half checks can be frustrating. I just change my list. 😂. So diesel heater install done ☑️ Still need to install wall plywood!
Yes, past Mike, how dare u make things difficult for current Mike? 😂
I don't know why others have had so many issues with their diesel heaters so I hope yours runs better and you don't wait until winter to discover any issues :( Rich
luv your dog ..lol.. keep on truckinn brother ....
Mike, can you flip it over, drill another hole, and mount a small speaker in that other hole?
Thanks for sharing
Invert that plywood. Cut the hole again. Install the heater. Install a light over your new top hole.

This can't be true...there should be a lot more likes than what I see...
my dad always said tap your tank before the party starts
Could he have gone with individual wires to a bus bar, which would connect to a 4 awg wire?
Put the hole that you drilled out back in the wrong hole, patch it on the back and spackle it. More work than buying new plywood but would be great content. *hugz*
Awesome video well done. 🛠️🇨🇦

I have no connectors on my setup. Just a proper solder and epoxy heat shrink.
Here I am thinking my next project is a Diesel Heater and what is Mike working on.😊
Exhausting 🥵
Where’s the Supervisor?
Did you leave dad under the bus stuck?
Name of video: Tapping tank the right way. Contents of video: everything but tapping the tank.
Hide that mistake in plain sight :-) Make a fake air vent.
BUT HEAT RISES. SO WHY WOULD YOU NOT LEAVE IT THERE, AGAIN.??
"Tapping the tank" video that doesn't show the tank being tapped?
Did you throw your dad under the bus?
21:41 ...and I was just thinking how inadequate you make me feel.
