The 249g Mavic Mini and other micro drones are exempt from the majority of the CARS part IX rules, but there are a couple caveats. Let's discuss the most commonly asked question, can I fly a Mavic Mini in controlled airspace?

Cool. Looking forward to more videos. How about covering flying over Provincial Parks. Taking off and landing from crown land or private property. Still having VLOS with the drone is this legal or not legal.

Very interested in this as I've run into by-laws being a major sticking point for municipal parks and I also understand provincial parks are basically a no go (For take off or landing).

No one seems to be recommending liability insurance for flying in public areas. Even a sub-250 could cause personal harm or damage to others.
