The 14 LAPD helicopters were just flying low in the poor areas disturbing the quality of life. That was CHP's air support and the news.
They had their sights on the target and for some reason, decided to drift away from it when they had more than enough clearance from the buildings to stay directly above it . That type of move made no sense.

It might be annoying to wait around for another Rolls, but I'd say if you're in that position, it's a pretty good problem to have.

@@JustBob5150 Its not. In most of these chases, because of "public safety" the cops follow them by at least 1-2 miles back. Then when the criminal realizes this, they get out of the car and they start running and the cops cant do anything about it since when they arrive, the criminal is long gone. Stolen jag for example. He jumped out of the car while it was under a bridge. It took the cops at least 5 minuets to show up and by that time, the criminal is already gone

@patrickr2601 the helicopter has to be in designated airspace from ATC. the zoom the camera uses makes it seem like they are a lot closer, until the subject breaks line of sight. The pilot has to stay in an area unless given permission by ATC. An example is you use a zoom on a target far away, then you look away, lose sight, then have to zoom out to find the subject then zoom in again. Its easy to lose what you are looking at when you are zoomed in. 👍🏽
Usually in these pursuits they aren’t bothered about slightly bumping into other cars but even he knows it’s way too expensive for that! 😅

in this particular case there might have been instruction not to get involved because it's a high density population area, a very expensive car, and likely has gps tracking anyway. If he started hitting people and destroying the car + collateral damage they might have sent cars in
