Billie and Mike's vocal harmonies are so perfect here, and Tre is so in the pocket on the drums. This is prime example of Green Day locked in and at their very best 🤟

Check his posture, is almost immobile and still plays like hell. Evidence of years of studies, no improvisations. They all can play for real, I call them 'fake punk' :-)

It's funny how our generation of music seemed to explode with emotion and pure raw talent
Green Day, Tool, Korn, SOAD, A Perfect Circle, Marilyn Manson, Red Hot Chilli Pepper's, Rage Against The Machine, Nirvana, Godsmack, Mudvayne and so on...
The thing about these bands was that every album had a long list of hit songs, they weren't like today's music (2010's-2024) where they have 1-3 hit wonders then dissapear into the Fog where another singer/band does their same type of style and passes the terminal torch.
Back when MTV actually broadcast music television. Watched this all day at a watch party. Good times.

Fun fact: This performance is much shorter than the original song! Meaning their picking up speed! I love it!
Thats because they were literally on a drug called "speed" which makes them hyper energized im the brain and heart rate... its actually quite dangerous but it made their concerts have unmatched energy back then, they dont do hard drugs anymore so their energy is a lot lower nowadays but they still sound great

I was born 4 years after this. 1998 was kind of a miss for me, should've been '88; cos I really do prefer older music to anything else but then again I enjoy being a 2000's kid because then I got American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown, which is in my top 3 albums of all time.

It's kinda sad. Although I was at this concert........people seem to be at this concert just to be 'at this concert''. Very few could appreciated the music. It was about being seen and being there. The whole musical appreciation failed.
I was at many outdoor concerts in my day and they were about the music. Not about the notoriety like this reunion wanted to capture. Times really suck as far as musical venues and the appreciation of music.
