Hosted by Lady Swatchalot, aka Natasha Newton; part Saxon, part Dane, all introvert. I hope you enjoy! Part Two is coming soon. (If you get the Saxon/Dane reference, I'll love you even more...) ;)
P.S. I actually am part Saxon, part Dane (I've had my DNA tested...not for any dodgy reasons, just out of curiosity).

Oh I love a great swatch party… gorgeous pencil colours! Btw beautiful lil paintings in cute sized Etrch sketchbook! 🙌🏼💚🩵💙 @NatashaNewtonArt ~ I’ve been meaning to ask you what size are your stackable palettes? Jackson sells the 6 stack in size 7.5cms or the 5 stack in size 9.5cm & I’ve had my eye on them for a while… but love the size you use! If you could pls let me know that would be awesome, thx hun ~ warm regards - Fabienne 🙏🏻🤔😘😽
Thanks for swatching the Wallace Seymour paints. There aren’t many videos about them.
No problem!
same i’ve been trying to find swatches/ reviews but there’s not many :’(
the greens are so gorgeous
I have three Wallace Seymour paints from the Vintage line as well. My son purchased them from a shop in Manchester when he was over there a few years ago. Right now I can’t recall the name of the shop, but will edit this post when I locate the business card. They are lovely paints!
Wallace Seymour watercolors are beautiful, but some dried out within a year while others separated. I was a bit miffed that I'd spent so much on them. If they offered them in a pan formula, I'd paint with them exclusively because they're that beautiful.
Anyway, I'm trying Zecchi next.
The Saxon/Dane statement reminded me of The Last Kingdom... one of my favorite series of all times😊 Also, love your videos and art style.
Yay! Such a great series. Quite intense at times. And thank you!
As an artist I love seeing what other artists treasures(materials)! Great seeing all the different products. Definitely feel inspired. Also your discount for Jackson's is brill! You still get the discount on sales items! Just got some Gelli plates!
That’s lovely to hear; enjoy your goodies! Thank you!
That cat picture is so beautiful. I don’t think I’ve seen it before. Loved the marks and the colors
Thank you, Francisco! I'm so glad that you like it. :)
Jeanne Oliver also sells the Wallace Seymour paints for those in the US. Far too expensive for us poor Australians but I am in love with these paint swatches!
Love the swatches. I suspect the issue with the Etchr watercolour paper Could be where the sizing of the paper is patchy- really annoying when you come across this issue. I’ve only encountered this once in ten years on Arches CP paper 😊
Ah, yes it could be that!
LOve the swatching party! Natasha where do you get the Wallace and Seymour watercolors from?
Those Wallace and Seymour watercolours are stunning! Love those greens! Idanthrene blue has been one my most favourite paints since I first started painting. It's so beautiful! x
Michael Harding has just brought out watercolour range
What works better with the paint pens is to pump 3 times then put the cap back on shake 3 -6 times and then your ready to go
❤💗🥰going to love watching this Natasha xxx
Enjoy, my dear! xxx
You will love the Wallace Seymour Lakeland Slate
Can you please give a link to these watercolours?
I often thought about buying some acrylic markers but I asked myself if the acrylic paint would dry out in the nip and would make it cratchy or maybe do not work anymore when I wouldn't have used them for a few weeks. As mixed media fan I can't/won't use everything day by day or week by week.
Could you maybe share your experiences?
Store them horizontally, give them a good shake before use and gently pump the nibs, and all's good! :)
This is my kind of party. Thank you so much.:)
There ain't no party like a Natasha Newton swatching party! 😂
Your videos are beautiful Natasha you kept me company I've just git out of hospital and I loved sharing this time here thank you 😊 ❤
I hope you're ok, Deborah. xx
I managed to catch this just a minute after upload!!! As always, your colour selection is inspiring and strangely comforting...Much love...
Thank you so much!
Strange is good. Normal is sooo overrated! ❤
newbie lurker loving the palettes and commentary. Ty.
Thanks Judy!
Hurray!! I've been waiting for this one 🥰 Thank you for taking time to do these videos for us. I know how precious time is especially being an artist. So thank you, Natasha!! You're wonderful 🥰
You are so welcome, Chelsea! Thank you for such a thoughtful comment. It takes a lot of time to film and edit videos (and manage RUclips in general) so it's lovely to know that it's appreciated. It means a lot! x
Oh my gosh your paintings in that little sketchbook are so pretty 😍 I ❤ the high contrast. I wanted to buy some of that Wallace seymour watercolors. They are one of the only ones left that makes a true manganese blue paint. I was on that site a couple weeks ago thinking I’d like to make a pallet and I really wanted that manganese blue. But.. they don’t ship internationally and I can’t get single tubes in the US.
Where do you get the little ceramic ‘Petrie dishes’? Thanks
Jackson's Art!
I am totally in love with the colors you've chosen in the watercolors 🤎💙🤍❤️🤗
Thank you! They are beautiful, aren't they. :)
Thank you for keeping me company during an enormous pile of dishes I had to do 😊 Is't alway fun to hear you go on about how you love every colour. 🥰 I'd be interested to see an all green swatch video, or an all blue, or all earth tones or any other group of colours you have, of your coloured pencils. Maybe an idea for a series. Or have you done something like that already?
Haha, I do that too… set the iPad up next to my dishes, put a NN swatch video on… and start getting soapy! 😂
@@cazkiwinz4300 the best way to do dishes!
Ha ha, I love this! ;) I'd absolutely love to do a series like the one you suggested. Maybe some day. :)
I think that set of color pencils reminds me of a moody fall scene or a night time fall scene! Also love the little “bye” for the color pencil! Made me lol! Waiting for part two!!!!
Ha ha, I'm so glad that someone noticed the rolling pencil and the 'bye'!
And YES! What a great idea for the Autumn night-time scene. :)
Hi Natasha, in the USA the Wallace Seymour watercolors can be found on Jeanne Oliver's website too, in sets.
Just catching up, lovely swatching video and liked the mini sketchbook tour at the end as well x
It was interesting to see how the better paper makes the colors more vibrant. Great video!
Thank you Natasha! That was great especially the Wallace Seymour paints. Very interesting to see them in such large swatches. Thank you for all your work in producing these videos.
Thank you, Fiona!
😍
Hi. Do you have tipps on PENCIL SHARPENERs for polychromos and luminance pencils? My pen tip always breaks off...:/
I love the double hole brass sharpener I used in this video, and I also have a brass 'bullet' sharpener which is amazing for all of my coloured pencils. You can get both from Jackson's.
Can you zoom in more for future swatches?
Pause and take a screenshot. Then you can zoom in on that screenshot.
Good idea, Sara!
I love your color choices. Overall they are very calming and beautiful.
Stonehenge paper is one of my favorites for drawing and I like their watercolor paper too.
Thank you so much!
Yay swatches lol I love the liquitex markers I need to get some hookers green is one of my favorite greens, sap green as well, never liked raw umber much for some reason but I love burnt umber. Thanks so much for the video I love swatches lol
I'm really starting to appreciate Hooker's Green now! x
I love, love, love the bird in your sketch book. The Etcher book pages can handle water color on both sides.
Thank you, Erica! That's good to know. :)
I can only find the liquitex 'light portrait pink", I wonder if it's the same?
I think it might be!
Love the water colors! Thank you for your efforts. It’s appreciated.
My pleasure, and thank you for watching!
I loved your selection of colours with the watercolours... the last 6 could easily be used for a beachy landscape. So gorgeous!
Ooh, yes!
Yay for Swatch Parties xx
Love watching your swatching parties. Really loved the watercolours. Especially the Blue John and the Iron Plum. I had a look to see if I could find these in Canada. I can but yikes...really too pricey (up to $60 for a 5ml tube). So I will have to live vicariously through you :)
Wowzers! They didn't cost anywhere near that much for me. The Blue John was the most expensive at around £13 GBP I think. Most were around £7-8-ish.
@@NatashaNewtonArt Import fees. shipping and the difference between the Pound and CAD$! :(
I loved every minute of this Swatch Party! I'm sitting here with a broken ankle feeling very sorry for myself and this cheered me up a bit ( as did adding stuff to my Jackson's cart!). Love the watercolours - ordering all them. Looking forward to Part 2 xxx
Oh dear, get better soon, Sara! x
@@NatashaNewtonArt Thank you xx
That Dufy watercolour 💙💙💙
It's a stunner!
Ohhh yeah, it’s here, I’m here! 🎉🎉🎉
Welcome! :)
an early upload today❤
Yes, very! :)
can't wait to watch
I hope you enjoyed it!
