Good info for us who throw larger baits. Thanks bud
I really did enjoy the video and it really was informative not just entertaining, but all your videos are entertaining.
Thank you Sir
great experienced test I dont use floats that much but knowing that what you have shown is dam interesting of what weights you can use great work mate your awesome If you ever get around to making a pvc carry strap rod holder ill be there to watch Tight Lines thanks again for your show my office love watching you
Thank you Mate . If I ever figure out a cool way to make it ill sure post it for you
@@FishinNStuff yes pvc pipe to fit the diameter of rod guides 1 end cap seal with pvc glue add padding each end under cap other end screw flange of larger diameter glue finish add screw cap so you can pull rod out if you cut small sleeves and glue at middle or each end you can strengthen the pvc so you can drive over it and doesn't damage rod inside as it makes the middle of the pvc flex so strong the carry handle either rope or strap or with clips either bolted in or pop rivet better making clean seal and you can spray it any colour or have sticker fishing N Stuff logo on the sides of pvc so you can use rock fishing lower your rod off the cliffs without damaging rod on rocks and have 2 hands free to climb down rocks or rope or can put on roof racks of car or inside of car to carry without hooks in your car You will just make it better really mate there are fishing sites that do it but i just like your style of making things i have made so many of your products watching your work
Fishing on the rivers I use 8 oz in around 1 to 2mph current on dragging weights and typically big baits skips or shad
With a 3 inch peg float
Great channel!!!!!
Great information there Keith.
Great video
goin be switching to football floats now.
TA DAY I REALLY NEED A CHEAP KAYAK DOLLIE IDEA!! HELP KEITH!!!
You probably should get your own pool! Might be safer, just saying!
Haha
Honestly I was not expecting the green football float to do that well. Not expecting the top water lures to do that poorly though
I think the problem with the lures are they have steel bearing in them so they have a disadvantage
Very true, they are already "neutraly boyant" otherwise they wouldn't have the proper action on the water surface. Guess I overlooked that part.
Your video clips full of advertisement!!
I wasn't advertising lol , well for my self I was of course lol
Guess what I'm working on??? 😂 😂 😂 just wanted too let you know, you can use any of my hacks, anytime, after all, they're fir sharing, hi to the family 👪..
Tell me what you think, I took foam ball Bobber, opened it up from the top, so the shaft is easier to get to at the bottom. Then I used Needlenose Pliers to straighten the bend, pulled out the spring, and top push peg, but left the other two in as my main pegs as my float. Easy hack, and if weighted? The weight comes out easy too. I save all parts🤭
Where's the link for the Amazon knock off demon dragons?
it was in the description 2 vids back.. here you go..
www.amazon.com/dp/B0858XWVNW/ref=cm_sw_r_u_apa_glt_fabc_EWGZVJG4MGZN7ZS16YCR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I posted it but it doesn't have a count on it just a price
@@FishinNStuff It did have a count, but it was a count of 1, so $14 for 1 seem pretty pricy. The link flatrock posted is $20 for 20, so a bit more reasonable.
Awesome testing. Makes my mind roll on other ways to use floats. Be Safe Brother.
Returning to fishing after years of no fishing. Discovered your videos and am learning what I forgot and what I never knew. Great stuff you are providing and your video examples and underwater views are wonderful Love your style and you keep it fun and interesting. You would be a kick to go fishing with even if I never caught a thing. Your video content never gets old so viewing what you recorded years ago is still of great value.
Thank you very much I really appreciate that . Fishing should always be fun 😁
Duuuuude Keith man you literally answered so many questions I’ve had about floats. Thanks man.
Holy smokes !!! Now that was the best informative video I've seen yet in using a Santee rig. I was gonna try demon dragons but think I might just stick with my peg floats
Try wine cocks on a test. Been using corks for years. Don't have a fish tank. Great info. Thanks Man!
Did I miss you doing the 3" cigar Peg Float? You talked about it but did not see it in the weight test. Great job on the test!
Yep same here I always run 3" cigars
Is it me or in the final result, did you call both the 2.5" and 3" cigar floats....."2.5 inch". I think the chartreuse was the 2.5" and the orange was the 3". Is that right?
Yes I think your right . There was a 2.5" and a 3" cigar float and a 2" and a 2.5" football float
DUDE...that was COOL. I'm glad i found your videos.
now you just have to add the hats to the site so we can buy them since they are ready to go. lol :)
I had an issue lol they are on there now though , I am sorry 😞
This video was full of great info! Definitely a big help when it come to setting up Santee Rigs. Thanks! 👍
So next thing to do is to see how big of a bait keeps each off the bottom but not floating to the top.
I'm not sure any bait can sink that big football float , use it and shorten your leader
@@FishinNStuff how short of a leader do you think Keith?
love these tests!!!!!
The little bell floats are used in Pompano rigs!
The super small floats are for either icefishing or when panfish are on the beds. Well that is what i use them for and thank you for all your video they are AWESOME!!!
Awesome, thanks, that was lots of information. And very interesting on keeping bait up off the bottom
1 unfinished lure for $13.90, that's an very expensive float, can't justify that cost, lol
Can you do a segment on slip bobbers with a list for fresh and salt water? I searched youtube and the internet and cannot find a video on hos the bobbers with slits are suppose to work and hacks to keep the line from coming out the slit, even with the pegs in place.
I found one video of a guy asking for help in keeping his line from coming out of his slip bobber with a slit and it was a hugh bobber.
Since you like a challenge this one should give you plenty of ideas.
Keep wetting the hooks.
ive been using the clear spooks for a while now cause they are wayyyyy cheaper and do literally the same thing as them pricey demondragons and stuff
You know those little Creme Lures? I took the Hooks off some of those, to make some Demon dragons? Well this first ones looking more like a little possed lizard . These things are tiny. And I painted them also
Man i appreciate that 1st hat... I dunn told you to stay out of my pool, Riley Kill ,,i just about died laughing... Man im glad you ran that test i would not have thought that big football float would have held that much weight up.. Great Video Brother
Lol then you budd6
Because the football float is bigger around the the others ....try the demon floats with a line in the middle so the float sits in the water like a boat ....
Use the little 1" orange peg floats for various things and just cut a slot in them so I can quick attach them to my line.
Nah we use corkies. All west coast steelhead fisherman know what a small corkie is. Also use spin-n-glo a spinning version.
I didn't see any hats on the site
same, I went straight to the site for a hat..... no hats...
me neither.
I got the issue fixed I am sorry about that .
@@FishinNStuff hey it happens. Just thought you might want to know.
Awesome video as always!! Lots of great information.
Enjoyed the video but if you want not to have to put your peg float on first slit it with a razorblade
Whooo the video I've been waiting on
Are we there yet, are we there yet, are we there yet, are we there yet,
I went and dragged a lure out of the trash that had rusted Hooks. Thanks buddy
Awesome testing video 👍😃
So a $8 demon dragon will hold up a night crawler, lol.
Now that was awesome!!!!
That was cool and awesome 👍🏼
LOL With that link to the clear knockoff Zara it's cheaper to just buy a real Zara
Knew the football flat would be the best.....more surface area + less weight = more flotation.
Those real small floats at 1:30 are Trout Magnet or some knockoff.
They work real well as a slip or fixed float during the day for Gills,Crappie, etc. for two 1/32oz or one 1/16oz jig/bait but at night they suck.I have a handful I have taken the peg out and super glued the slit back together. Then at night I will use them with a glow stick and the glow stick acts as the peg. They no longer can be used a slip float with the glow stick but Crappie, etc. aren't usually very deep at night.
That's a good idea
What about the big 3” round float?
I call it a floating Carolina Rig I do it for bass
For a long time I could not find any slip floats here in South Korea. I had a pack of little 1 1/2 inch Betts peg floats that I wasn't doing anything with. I took a left-over Lollipop stick from one of my daughter's finished Chupa Chups. I ran that through a peg float and they make pretty decent little slip bobbers. They fight tight so I don't need to use glue or anything to hold the stick in place.
I did a few like that , they work really good . It don't have to be fancy to catch fish
I want to see some fishing stuff bandannas
Make a diy fishing beach cart
Now we know!!! Great video!!
If I didnt know any better , I would say with the accent you probably pretty close to my neck of the woods Southwest Virginia here
Close NC
Well originally I used peg floats to save money now I use them cause they cheaper and work better plus I just don't trust the eyelets on the dragons.
I run the leader around and through each eye . That way it's still a solid leader
Great video thank you
Notice the Black was easier to see........ the bright colors attract salmon and steelhead also .pinks chartreuse and orange. But dark colors make a larger silhouette.
I know but catfish aren't attracted too colors just scent , and the deeper you fish the less color matters , and most people are trolling 30 ft or so . I would just clear coat mine so they would be like mono line like I said on the last video . But I totally get why they have the colors for bass , salmon, crappie and so forth
Go on Janns netcraft they have a great selection of floats and before the wife threatens to leave you get a Hagen fishing tackle catalog .Both of them will send you very nice like 150 pg catalogs and some times Janns will have free shipping just get on there e-mail list they will let you know when that is . We would drive across the state of Ohio and stop at net craft the guys working on Fridays know me by first name . My wife would ask how are you going spend this time each we stopped there . Those 3 in cigar floats make grate northen plke lures at night run a wire thought them tie on a trible hook and walk the dog save about $ 10.00 on a lure .
Very informative preciate what ya do..
FNS/ DUBL D . brand it , yours!!👍🇺🇸
Since you say the fish aren't attracted to colors, would it be a good idea to paint the peg float a brown or black color so the fish won't get spooked?
Most Fish are attracted to colors . catfish can see but not very well . If you read about them . Say that catfish have a sense of smell (or taste I guess , you can't smell under water) lol .but they say it's better than a shark . That's why I say color doesn't attract catfish. But if color doesn't attract a catfish. Then why would it spook em 🤔
If the demon dragon has an internal weight wouldn't the tests be wrong as far as weight, just asking
I don't think so , Demon dragons are made to be lures but used as floats . So it needs to take on the role of a float
Awesome info - this is the kinda stuff that fishermen need to see!
Thank you
Keith DuBose Outdoors Salute! To another great video. I enjoy watching
Good stuff Keith great info.
Now that's AWESOME! It definitely gave me much needed info. Thanks buddy.
Great video 😃😃
Not sure if someone beat me to it. Those small floats, are used as strike indicators or drifting small jigs and flies
I figured they were I just saw em and liked em lol . Plus you never know what they might be handy for
I enjoy your videos. Have you ever tried Air Lock floats?
Nope never seen em before. But they look like they'd work good
Awesome videos mate
you know the green one of the double clip you don't have to pull that deal off just clip the line in each end that way you can add it or take it away based on whether you need it or not
You can do that , I was afraid it might weaken my leader line
Enjoy new video I'm like you I need increase I'm wieghts
I really was shocked lol
Thanks video
You should come up with a DIY stone deflector for towing a boat on rocks and gravel
Awesome, cool and kinda neat, five ⭐️s, thanks Kieth !!!
Cool vid. Was wondering if u could diy a kayak rack that goes into a rear reciever and holds the kayak upright?
7:14 l0l rip
Dude how can you dislike any of these vids. Fishin n stuff is the 💩👍
Lol thank you I appreciate that
I am happy something floats on the channel your an over large sinker weight laughing awesome video to thanks
MAANNNNN those clear spooks are $14 EACH
It didn't say how many , I got 20 for 20 dollars .
Man I really enjoy your video’s
I love fishing but I don’t get to go much
So this information is a great help
I’d like to see a kayak troller motor set up or something similar, maybe more kayak hack builds.
You mentioned leaders in several videos, do you have a way to store them?
On some of my hack videos I do
Good video. Great content. Always look forward to seeing the notifications.
Love this video. I love more his accents and his man size hook 😄
Lol
Awesome
Love your videos. Like the way u get to it with the experiments and get rid of the bs.lol. keep up the great job 🤘
Thank you going to give this a go also can you show some good ideas for bottom water fishing
The video cut out after the fishin n stuff peg float
RUclips must have glitches try watching it again ?
Riley kill lmao that’s funny
Lol
Love your videos and your sense of humor🤣
Thank you
Noce float hack. Now I can get some of those and make some santee floats made up
Great test and very informative. Tight Line
No hats on the link. Tuhday I wanted uh hat!
It's getting fixed now so check back I am sorry
What is so wrong with using a clip on float
Nothing at all . The floats I went over are for Santee rigs mostly
Awesome information on the different floats and the weights.
You ever make a weight in a spoon . You twist a wire loop and melt the lead in the spoon with a torch. Then you stick the wire in the lead with needle nose pliers .
Nope but I made a lead mold kinda like that . Sounds interesting 🤔
@@FishinNStuff My grandpa use to do that . He also made homemade molds .
What about the 3 inch cigar float?
It was the orange. He called it 2.5 inches accidentally
No link for the clear demand dragon
I found this one but the thing is it doesn't say how many you get ?
