You should have included Alexandre Pato, I know his career is still going but it's almost impossible to see him back to level he was playing at when he was at AC Milan.
Yeah wtf happened to Pato I remember people use to say he was the next big thing since brazilian Ronaldo and he was a monster at his first few seasons at Milan. Now he is somewhere in Brazil
He is not in the same level as he was in the days of AC Milan, but he is playing great games in Sao Paulo FC... He helped the team in last year's Brazilian League ( Sao Paulo was runner-up) and has already scored 6 goals in 9 games this year...
Bojan? Pato? Maybe Fischer because I don't think he will be back at his old level when he returns from his injury. Such a shame about his injury, he scored 10 goals in his first season at ajax and then got a horrific 2 year long injury. Hope it will be just what I think and he will come back stronger like Kishna who was in a similar situation in 2013 and is now one of the most important players at ajax.
motasem al-yamani you know who is also 23 and had the same expectations when he was 17? Neymar, who is brazil's captain, a starter at barcelona, 3rd most scoring player in la liga behind obviously messi and ronaldo, and has scored 4 worldcup goals in 5 matches. Meanwhile bojan has signed for stoke...
im not a man u fan... im actually a liverpool fan and as much as i hate to say it januzaj and wilson have loads of talent. van gaal is not the right guy to mentor youngsters like that
5 players that could have made the list: Bojan: People were comparing him to Raul after his first season, he had really good pace and finishing at such a young age. I think under Guardiola everything went south, he played less and suffered from inconsistency. He was really good towards the end of the 2009-10 season, but when the Messi-Villa-Pedro started to click he barely played and when he did he didn't perform as well or he got injured. I think they let him go too early, but they wanted to bring in Alexis and, fair enough, Alexis had already proven himself at that time. He was originally called up to play at Euro 2008, but turned it down, imagine if he ha played, he could have became regular for Spain! Pato: Pato was definitely the biggest wonderkid of the late 2000s. Brazil's future #9, the next Ronaldo, potential Ballon d'Or winner, this was Pato. Even with some injuries, he still put up like 15 goals a season, and that's good from someone who's only 20-21 years old. It's still not over, but it's almost impossible to see him back to his younger years. I knew it was over when he went back to Brazil, something's not right when you ask for weaker competition and you still can't score like you used to. He's never been to the World Cup, that's the worst part, especially when you see the current bad strikers Brazil produces these days (Fred, Jo, Tardelli), if Pato fulfilled his potential, he would have been the starter in 2014. Giovani dos Santos: People were calling him the next Ronaldinho, at only 18, that's wonderkid status. You see how he has played for Mexico, some of the great goals he scored (the chip v. Tim Howard), that he had it in him. That move to Tottenham really messed up his club career, he was originally wanted by Juande Ramos, they lose all their first few games in EPL that season, then comes Redknapp, and he never gives him a chance. When you go from Barcelona to Tottenham to Ipswich Town you know it's bad. Good for the national team, not consistent enough on the club level. Ganso: He really could have been that trequartista attacking mid lining up alongside Neymar with Brazil in major tournaments (like they did at Santos). He was just a natural talent, but had too many injuries and became too inconsistent. He was tipped to start his European career with a team like AC Milan, Inter, PSG, or even Real Madrid: he never made it out of Brazil. He lost his place to Oscar, he was mainly on the bench during the Olympics. He's like the Shia LeBeouf of football, because both never fulfilled their massive potential in their craft, and they look just like each other. Michael Owen: This one's kinda out there, but there is truth to this. He was fulfilling his potential until it came to a crashing halt when he couldn't find enough playing time at Real Madrid and went to Newcastle. Just think of it this way: he was the best young player at the 1998 World Cup, he's the first Englishman to win the Ballon d'Or since Kevin Keegan in 1980, surely he's gonna become a great player!? He never came close to winning a Champions League and only won the Premier League once while sitting on a bench with Man United. Usually, strikers are at their goal-scoring peak in their late 20's, Michael Owen was getting relegated with Newcastle before he turned 30! That's how hard he fell, from winning the Ballon d'Or at such a young age to getting relegated with Newcastle 7 years later! Look at all the Ballon d'Or winners in the past 20 years, surely Owen is one of the worst of those great players. Michael Owen was younger than Messi when they both won their first Ballon d'Or...just let that sink in for a minute.
erm, Mikel is still a top player, often bossing the midfield, controlling the tempo and frankly running the show. He was key to Chelsea champions league title win stopping the likes of Barcelona and Bayern with his presence. Chelsea and Nigerian legend
Will Robinson being hyped up by the media and having constant balon d'or nominations is what makes a player good these days it seems. I truly feel sorry for the defenders and goalkeepers in this age that only appreciates goal scorers as they will never get the awards and reception they deserve. As a united fan I hate to admit it but Chelsea have the best team in Europe in terms of how rounded it is. Mikel hardly did an essien did he?
***** As a United fan, you're wrong. Bayern and Real are much more rounded than Chelsea. You could even make the case for PSG, Barcelona, and Juventus.
Just a couple that springs to mind, Fernando Torres (for his demise since leaving Liverpool) , Javier Saviola, Pato, John Bostock(at Crystal Palace) he made his debut at 15! Kakuta who played for Chelsea, David Bentley, Ganso (who was dubbed as having the same ability has Neymar).
E1_KD Never, he's been good at Stoke but not outstanding. He's not that young any more, if he can't be world class whilst playing for top clubs like Barca and Ajax then he has no chance at Stoke.
honorable mention: kakuta Chlesea, ryan Babel Liverpool, kieran dyer west ham, Micheal Owen?? madrid - could have done more, harry kewell liverpool, arshavin arsenal.
Javier Chicharito Hernandez? He was great at Chivas (Mexican league) and had a good first season at Man U after that he was a "super sub" but he had potential to have been better
This list is about players that didn't live up to their expectations... Hernandez surpassed all of his. He was offered to Chivas USA but they didn't want him. Instead he went on to play for Man U and Real Madrid, and started a CL final. He might have been bench for long periods of time but look at his competition: Rooney, Van Persie, Bale, Benzema, and Ronaldo. If a WC winner like Khedira is also bench then its not that bad.
The Wolf B Muniz he was offered to Chivas USA alongside Padilla but they didn't want Chicharito. They took Padilla to build up the team, but they didn't think Chicharito was good enough.
I know but how can a team offer it self its own player.its just like what they did with cubo if they want him in chivas usa they put him there since both teams are owned by vergara
Anderson... won golden boy at u-21 WC, played for United in champions league final 2008, faded into an occasional squad player cos he couldnt stay away from the Nandos
List needs Pato and Marin, anybody that saw Marin play for Werder would agree that he could have rivalled Ozil for the best player at Werder, where Ozil went on to find glory at Real, Marins career went in decline and now barely finds games on loan spells.
When Cristiano Ronaldo was in Sporting, there was a player that played with him: Fabio Paim. There is a famous speech that Ronaldo said: "If you think that im am a good player, wait too see Fabio Paim". This guy was loanned in Chelsea but currently he is playing in Malta
this list of u r's is straight up shitt. gabriel jesus has been amazing for brazil. many said that to lucas moura too and he has been amazing for PSG but injure's took him step's back but now he has reach he's full potential w/ more years to come. ødegard is only 17 years old and has more years to become better real madrid just need to loan him out to club that are not biggest team in europe to play first team football.. lile manutd did with andreas pereira they loned him out to granada and he is one of 3 best players in that team but still so young.. mastour well he is more of a freestyler then footballer he said it him self thats why he requsted a loan to low team in city that freestyle is more then a football on a pitch.. sanches has been amazing for portugal the list goe's on and on.. but if injure's catch them bad then they will never become what everyone was talking about.. (my english is very bad i know)
Victor vasquez, played in barcalona youth with messi. together they made a game to score as many goals and he sometimes won. but because of injuries he couldnt play on top lvl. He plays for bruges now.
Diego Ribas ??? David Odonkaar ??? If you're gonna put joe Cole in the list then you have to Nani and Anderson in as well. They both was bought for big fees at the time
Surely Eddie Johnson should be on this? Hyped to be Americas next big thing after breaking through into the national squad at a young age and getting in the mls all stars then making a move to the Fulham and struggled to find form then Went back to usa
Keirrison has to be in there for sure, maybe Bojan, too. Jose Ernesto Sosa, Julio dos Santos, Sebastian Deisler, Antonio Cassano, Christopher Schorch (!), ... I think there were too many english players in there. But I really enjoyed the video, thanks!
You forgot the Player who could be a the best striker in the world Alexander Pato he has potential than injuries came and damage he's career he's still a awesome play and I think he should join the BBVA or English premier League or Back to Ac Milan :)
Pogba I don't think so most of these guys were talked about when they were 17 or 18, nobody but man u fans really knew him at that age, right know he's about 21-22 right now
There is one more player you have forgotten, and even though he may be the highest paid player in the world, Hulk never actually fulfilled his potential. Someone that strong and big and pacey, he seemed like he was the next big thing, but instead, has ended up in Shangai Shenhua, in the Chinsese Super League. Not saying he was a bad player, but definitely a talent that could have gone far.
For me the #1 is "Tony". Tony was a guy who played in the same youth team as Zlatan. Zlatan even said it himself that this guy Tony was better than him.
R9 had a lot of potential that was unfulfilled. Yes, he was and is one of the greatest football player of all time but considering without injuries and other issues, I always think "what if". R9 had way more potential and could have achieved something that even Messi did not show us.
We could do an all-french player top 10 too, with Meghni, who was the next Zidane and did shit, bad player for sure, Marvin Martin, who was REALLY considered the next Zidane, and turned ou really bad of a player, Ben Arfa, whose career is resumed by one good season with Nice, Pongolle & Le Tallec who were supposed to be a deadly partnership at international level and did nothing, Christanval, Obertan,...
patrekur bjarni þorbjargarson LOL. Oh yeah he belongs 1000%. Can you please tell me about his career? So far the only season that can be considered really good is last year. In Ligue 1. With Nice. At 28. Before that, he disappointed at Lyon, although he did decent, then he did very little for Marseille, he did close to nothing in England. National team "forgot" him for years. He is known as a temperamental unprofesionnal player. Remember, this guy was supposed to be the next big thing. The monste who would terrorise the planet. I don't like Aulas, I hate him, but I guarantee you: he sold Ben Arfa to Marseille because he saw all that coming. He saw how unprofesionnal he was, he saw him coming back with extra-weight, he saw everything. His transfer from OL to OM shocked everybody because it seemed cheap, and it was between rivals. Now I know why.
patrekur bjarni þorbjargarson That's funny because everytime I name him as a failure, foreign people ALWAYS tell me he doesn't belong in that type of player. Foreign people started to know him when he got to Newcastle. You have no idea what it was before. He was known since he 13 as the future exceptional player. Any french football website who name players who disappointed and never reached their potential will have Ben Arfa in its list. Because in France, we know him and his past.
I feel like maybe being praised so much by the media affected them mentally. Maybe because they thought they were already good and didn't really try to be the best they could or all the pressure got to their heads. It's unfortunate.
You should have included Alexandre Pato, I know his career is still going but it's almost impossible to see him back to level he was playing at when he was at AC Milan.
He's been on good form lately
26lekent Has he? I would love to see him playing in Europe again
I agree with you, he was my idol and he had great talent but injuries destroyed him and his talent
You can soon add Ødegaard to this list.
Haha I completely agree with u
kvifor?
n1 u troll
he is only 16
Ties Hulshof Yeah but hes really hyped for some reason.
Bojan?
Lol Fischer is only 20 and you're already writing him off.
And Bojan is only 23...
motasem al-yamani you know who is also 23 and had the same expectations when he was 17? Neymar, who is brazil's captain, a starter at barcelona, 3rd most scoring player in la liga behind obviously messi and ronaldo, and has scored 4 worldcup goals in 5 matches. Meanwhile bojan has signed for stoke...
Holland Wala Pendu Jatt Thiago silva is brazil captain but still, good point
Monkey D Luffy no he is not anymore, after the world cup new coach Dunga made Neymar the captain
do top 10 unexpected to succeed stars, like an opposite of this video
Agree
Bellerin
Renato Sanches
George lord bendter
Lord Bendtner, should have become the best in galaxy but instead just only became the best in the world.
Bojan krkic
Alexandre Pato
Ruben De La Red
Drenthe
But Rubén De la Red had a problem in his heart and he had to stop playing football
trueee
bojan is ballin right now
Pasha Man He's playing for Stoke. Not exactly "ballin"
januzaj is gonna be added to that list soon. shame he has to play under lvg.. kinda worried for wilson too
Wilson gets loads of time... Januzaj however is nothing but overrated. and believe in LVG. we are doing good this season.
im not a man u fan... im actually a liverpool fan and as much as i hate to say it januzaj and wilson have loads of talent. van gaal is not the right guy to mentor youngsters like that
B4D-BLAST HE's giving them more time than Falcao i don't know what you are talking about
B4D-BLAST Also LVG has mentored many great youngsters in the past. He is perfect for this.
BrosephLUka giving them play time doesnt mean he is imrpoving them
That picture for Dani at number 9 is James Tomkins ffs 😂
And then we have the totally opposite: Niclas Bendtner!
its "lord"
Adriano, Robinho and Quaresma could have been LEGENDS! They were amazing! Just watch them on youtube and you can see the talent they had!
5 players that could have made the list:
Bojan: People were comparing him to Raul after his first season, he had really good pace and finishing at such a young age. I think under Guardiola everything went south, he played less and suffered from inconsistency. fred jo and tardelli are all older than pato you fool
I'm so sad over Robinho, one of my favorite players still though
John Obi Mikel? He was the second best player in the 2005 youth world cup behind none other than Messi
Check how many trophies Mikel won since then
but compared to the potential he showed as a youth he has been a disappointment, he allowed Chelsea to ruin him.
erm, Mikel is still a top player, often bossing the midfield, controlling the tempo and frankly running the show. He was key to Chelsea champions league title win stopping the likes of Barcelona and Bayern with his presence. Chelsea and Nigerian legend
Will Robinson being hyped up by the media and having constant balon d'or nominations is what makes a player good these days it seems. Ramin233 He was dubbed the next Messi and now he's at Stoke. He's not fufilled anywhere near his potential.
CRW5252 Still has time.
E1_KD He's not going to be anywhere near the next Messi. I'll guarantee you that.
CRW5252 True but he can still be world class.
E1_KD Never, he's been good at Stoke but not outstanding. He's not that young any more, if he can't be world class whilst playing for top clubs like Barca and Ajax then he has no chance at Stoke.
Freddy Adu could have changed US Soccer. Shame it didn't work out
honorable mention: kakuta Chlesea, ryan Babel Liverpool, kieran dyer west ham, Micheal Owen?? madrid - could have done more, harry kewell liverpool, arshavin arsenal.
Javier Chicharito Hernandez? He was great at Chivas (Mexican league) and had a good first season at Man U after that he was a "super sub" but he had potential to have been better
Giovanni dos Santos never reached his potential neither. Same goes with Juarez,Barrera, and many other Mexican players sadly.

Erik De Anda chivas usa was owned by chivas lol so if they wanted to put him in usa they would of done so
The Wolf B Muniz he was offered to Chivas USA alongside Padilla but they didn't want Chicharito. They took Padilla to build up the team, but they didn't think Chicharito was good enough.

Jack Wilshere I know he's Still playing but the hype around him a few years ago cant be ignored
Adriano really hurt, I love his style. Power, pace, but also technique. Dat left foot.
Ariel Ortega, juninho, Veron, Reyes, kerlon, david bentley, abou diaby, muntari, Manuel fernandes, Scott sinclair , elano, geovanni,
hate to say it but wilshere may have to be added to this list soon if he doesn't stop getting injured
Miss seeing Joe Cole at his best, quality player
9.. swear that photo is James Tomkins?
Ohh Freddy Adu. Good old football manager days. Legend
Abou Diaby should be in this list. Really good player with so much potential, and injuries got in the way. He would have been as good as yaya toure.
joe cole has a fantastic career with chelsea and england just went downhill when he was swapped to liverpool
Anderson... won golden boy at u-21 WC, played for United in champions league final 2008, faded into an occasional squad player cos he couldnt stay away from the Nandos
who is that player chelsea signed from france really young and now is loaned ..... aaaaah Gael Kakuta looooooooooool foreva loaned
i really hoped we could use him, but we'll sell him. chelsea buy young players, loan them out, and then sell them.
Mr. Mathias MUG
And marko marin :(
TheRealFinnWilliams Marko Marin always sucked
erm number nines picture on the lest is james tomkins........
left
Great vid
List needs Pato and Marin, anybody that saw Marin play for Werder would agree that he could have rivalled Ozil for the best player at Werder, where Ozil went on to find glory at Real, Marins career went in decline and now barely finds games on loan spells.
i remember marin at werder bremen such a talent put in some great proformances its a shame he's gone down hill
The German Messi :( Such a shame he never fulfilled his potential, he could have been incredible!
ShannonKFelini Ozil was injured half this season.
Alessandre Pato?????
When Cristiano Ronaldo was in Sporting, there was a player that played with him: Fabio Paim. There is a famous speech that Ronaldo said: "If you think that im am a good player, wait too see Fabio Paim". This guy was loanned in Chelsea but currently he is playing in Malta
Cassano, Lulinha, Recoba, Thomas Kraft, Ananidze, Dzagoev, Hammil, Sahin, Aissati, Vanden Borre, Huntelaar, Barnes, Celsinho, Adrian, Ninis, Skjelbred, Rosický, Rodwell, Baxter, Delfuenso etc.
Players who i think will fail: Odegaard, Mastour, Sanches, Živkovič, Bazoer, Miazga, Christensen, Cresswell, Gabriel Jesus.
dangerdan1337 Saying a person, who can't even spell :)
this list of u r's is straight up shitt. gabriel jesus has been amazing for brazil. many said that to lucas moura too and he has been amazing for PSG but injure's took him step's back but now he has reach he's full potential w/ more years to come. ødegard is only 17 years old and has more years to become better real madrid just need to loan him out to club that are not biggest team in europe to play first team football.. lile manutd did with andreas pereira they loned him out to granada and he is one of 3 best players in that team but still so young.. mastour well he is more of a freestyler then footballer he said it him self thats why he requsted a loan to low team in city that freestyle is more then a football on a pitch.. sanches has been amazing for portugal the list goe's on and on.. but if injure's catch them bad then they will never become what everyone was talking about.. (my english is very bad i know)
Victor vasquez, played in barcalona youth with messi. together they made a game to score as many goals and he sometimes won. but because of injuries he couldnt play on top lvl. He plays for bruges now.
Gazza and Joe Cole were fantastic that's really shocked me you put them on that list what a load of bollcks from a "football channel"
1:02 that's James Tomkins on the left, can even see the West Ham colours.
I'm liking that Florida Gators jacket, David!
Gael Kakuta as well most definitely
many of players that are in this list got really bad injures in their career..
Balotelli, Ben Arfa, Pato, Anderson, Nani, ...
I'm Missing Royston Drenthe and Ibrahim Afellay
Junior malanda could have been a great player
too soon
Way to soon bro
Too soon
R.I.P.
Jack rodwell, asmaoh gyan, Antonio nocerino, valerie bonjov, kalou, morientes, Eduardo, nordin amrabat, nacer bazarite, josh mclaren
Paulo Henrique (Ganso) He was supposed to be Brazil's next midfield superstar. What happened to him??
Quincy Owusu Abeyi, Royston Drenthe, Ryan Babel, Mido, Andy van der Meyde, Rene van der Gijp
Im agree with everybody who thinks Alexandre Pato should be in this list.
You forgot the Player who could be a the best striker in the world
Alexander Pato he has potential than injuries came and damage he's career he's still a awesome play and I think he should join the BBVA or English premier League or Back to Ac Milan :)
you forgot pato bojan torres
Dimitrijevic Jovica Bojan and Torres? You mad??
Dimitrijevic Jovica torres fulfilled his potential
Sebastian deisler!
he was tipped to be one of Germany's talents ever but his career was shortened by injuries and he retired at the age of 27.
Anderson: big money move and he won european golden boy award, the award given to the most impressive U21 player of that season in a european league
Copa 90 are the best
In 10 years this will be Paul Pogba and Martin Ødegaard.
dumbest shit I've ever heard. Pogba is known as the best central midfielder in the world by most people
Pogba? Are you dumb? He's already one of the best midfielders in the world at the age of 21.
Ali Jackson yeah I'm not sure if he knows football mate :D
Pogba I don't think so most of these guys were talked about when they were 17 or 18, nobody but man u fans really knew him at that age, right know he's about 21-22 right now
Pogba is already an established star so you're wrong.
Martin ødeegard will be in this list if he won't leave real madrid aka team that destroy players' careers
Not saying he was a bad player, but definitely a talent that could have gone far.
really sad about robinho ;( he is my favourite player ever, I just wanna go back in time and watch him play his career again but to his full potential
other are Mario Balotelli, Andre Schurrle, Ciro Immobile, Andy Caroll
Ravel morrison
Really digging the Florida jacket.
Youve got James Tomkins in the picture as number 9 hahaha
Cherno samba is playing for dream team Utd, he was on spencer fc hashtag vs dream team, he scored some nice free kick
When you end up playing with Spencer Owen you know you fucked up badly
Um the picture of "dani carvalho" is James Tomkins...
Fabio paim. One time CR7 says " if you think i'm good, probably you don't know Fabio Paim" the n1 in this top
George Best HAS to be on this list... If he'd come later he would've definitely been number 1
Hands down George Best.
Easily one of the best players to ever touch a football but so many set backs.
How the fuck is Robinho in there ? He's been amazing for Brazil and his first few season with Milan was amazing
Rodwell, Pato and Balotelli, Micah Richards, Hargreaves and Nani are candidates for this list as well imo
Joe Cole was quality for Chelsea
George Best - career over at 27, if he had fulfilled his potential we wouldn't have heard of Messi.
Lol bullshit
You're really stupid
Add jeffren suarez to this list he once Scored in the el clasico for barca and now plays for Grasshopper Club Zürich
Gael kakuta in the u18 world cup was mint but he flopped and has spent several seasons out on loan from chelsea
Pretty sure that's James Tomkins for number 9
For me the #1 is "Tony". Tony was a guy who played in the same youth team as Zlatan. Zlatan even said it himself that this guy Tony was better than him.
Can i ask EuroFan have will have this year?
R9 had a lot of potential that was unfulfilled. Yes, he was and is one of the greatest football player of all time but considering without injuries and other issues, I always think "what if".
R9 had way more potential and could have achieved something that even Messi did not show us.
Giuseppe Rossi, Nilmar, Pato, and Adebayor
We could do an all-french player top 10 too, with Meghni, who was the next Zidane and did shit, bad player for sure, Marvin Martin, who was REALLY considered the next Zidane, and turned ou really bad of a player, Ben Arfa, whose career is resumed by one good season with Nice, Pongolle & Le Tallec who were supposed to be a deadly partnership at international level and did nothing, Christanval, Obertan,...
ben arfa dosen't belong in this list of u r's..
patrekur bjarni þorbjargarson LOL.
Figo's trim tho. Damn!
Good team !
I feel like maybe being praised so much by the media affected them mentally. Maybe because they thought they were already good and didn't really try to be the best they could or all the pressure got to their heads. It's unfortunate.
Saviola, Anderson, Ortega, Ravel Morrison
Joe Cole was a great player. Injuries ruined him, you forgot to mention that. One that stands out is Southend away '09. Was never the same.
You picked right in Freddy Adu, even though hes a fellow American, cant help but wonder what happened to the promise
Bojan? Pato? Balotelli? El Shaarawy? Andy Carroll?
Balotelli and El Sharaawy still have time and when Carroll actually plays, hes pretty good....
+Chris M Not worth £30m or a position in England's starting 11
Denilson, Alvaro Recoba
pretty sure joe cole was chelsea's player of the year in 2008 in an amazing team including lampard and drogba at their peak...
Esteban Granero and Royston Drenthe had their careers destroyed by Real Madrid really do fear the worst for Odegaard
I forgot about Freddy Adu hahaha
Where's Michael Owen?
Your first Dani Carvahlo picture is James Tomkins mate
the f2 freestylers could have been one as they both could have made it into arsenal but they didn't understand the games to well so they were dropped
I wish Quaresma had been in the Portugal squad for the WC last year. Would have loved to have seen him and Ronaldo together again
Mabye next euro!
Memphis Depay should be on this list soon enough.
+Goodboy Ledley King ? Are you drunk ?
nani, torres, podolsky, kevin boateng, (all ac milan young players)
Sorry if Joe Cole is in the list then what do you say about Theo Walcott and Erik Lamela,
Quaresma has so much Potential... Such a great kicker..
