Small grammar mistake at 3:12 (depoyment) 😅 Thank you for the great report. I always love the format you use. It's always nice to see 2 titans lists go at each others throats. Just a shame that we didn't get to see the full passive healing on the NW side. The triple dauntless does a good job at keeping the units alive, but when the NHWHE gets attached to the units as well, the double heal on every panic check becomes incredibly powerful. It discourage your opponent from attacking you, and all ranged attacks made by the trackers and Othell can also be used as a healing source, which makes the option of attacking from purse with fortune seeker incredibly efficient.
Whoops 😅 I think I can get that fixed relatively easily. Good catch! Yea the healing was brutally good as is, I can imagine if you get NHWHE on multiple units early it can be a bit insurmountable.
Great report! Honestly don't know how you don't lose to this Cotter list. Maybe don't outflank Hrakkar so you can have a steeper activation advantage? I don't even know if that works with vanguard around though. With Night's Watch having two cards that can affect a morale test and the ability to double dauntless I think even then outflanking ranger vanguard could tie a unit down enough to allow cotter to come in and oneshot a dragon. Pyke aggression is just such a huge threat to dragons.
I think I should have just played for board control more, instead of trying in vain to kill vanguard. As you can see it was actually pretty close at the end, I think with better NCU usage things could have turned out a bit different.
The Cotter list can loose, i can confirm that having played it many times, but it is a very forgiving list for sure. There's a lot of defensive tech to keep it kicking for a long time, it's got the mobility that makes sure that any positionning mistakes can be corrected, and the aggression necessary to be dangerous at every level of wounds remaining. Winning against it usually requires some elements between (or combination of) really high damage lists, surprise retaliation (such as final strike), activation advantage or tactic cards prevention (counterplot)
Should you not heal 2 when making your moral test with the swordmasters when he does not control the swords? It look like you missed that one or two times?
@romangeneral14 nailed it, the list building is standard 40 points, then you can add up to 4 points of attachments after the fact. So far in testing, I've found I'm playing a lot more fun 5 and 6 point units to have a home for the attachments I want to use, and 2pt attachments don't feel like a liability.
Good game. Marselen is probably my favorite Targ commander to play.

Forgive my ignorance, what is 40 + 4 format?
You build your 40 pt list as normal. You then get 4 free pts for attachments to spend

@@romangeneral14 Can some attachments still come out of the 40 pts? Or are you only allowed 4pts of attachments?
Yes! You can use your normal 40 points for anything you want, including attachments.
@ you can do what you like so long as 4 of the 44 pts are attachments
You cannot play Unstoppable Advance as you rolled a 1 on the charge and thus you are unable to play cards.
Yes you can my friend, it is in the S5 FAQ.
@samualstohl2451 has it, they clarified that you can use a card to reroll a 1 for charges. If you reroll into another 1 though, that's that.
