- One streamer was so desperate for money and fame that he would kill his girlfriend for the whole world to witness... all for the sake of a mere $1,000. But who is Stas Reeflay? What kind of sick internet phenomena allowed him to find an audience? And how has this changed the digital landscape?

I feel like whoever donated that $1k needs some sort of charges too.
He specifically asked for the actions that killed her
He didn’t hold a gun to the guy’s head; the guy had a choice and is accountable for his own actions in his girlfriend’s murder.
Hmmm, I'm not sure as the money is gifted up front, and regardless of the action, the money isnt refunded. There was no real pressure for the streamers to do anything. I think that energy would be better spent on banning Trash streaming altogether
@@user-in3yq9fx8z But isn’t it basically the same as conspiracy to murder? If you hire a hitman, you pay them money (sometimes upfront) to kill someone. The hitman has a choice to say yes or no and is accountable, thats out of question. But the one who hired him is at fault as well. That’s why it is actually punished in court with prison time.
at least be investigated. It worries me any person that donated has some skeletons in their closet.
@@user-in3yq9fx8z That's such a strawman argumant. Not only did the donator ask for this, they additionally threw in a monetized incentive/reward to perform the action. This alone drastically increases the likelihood of something happening. They are 100% equally as accountable as the murderer, for being the catalyst to this horrific event, gun or no.
Anyone paying for someone to assault or torture someone should be charged with a crime. This content should have been removed and demonetized. Just sickening what people do, hope she is at peace now that no one can hurt her
Sounds a bit like the plot of Hostel doesnt it

Trash streaming should be outright banned, and every country should adopt harsher punishments for DV IMO.
it's bad in Russia too, my wife had to wait till her ex came back in country to even file for divorce... he broke into her apartment and trashed it and there was almost no support from the authorities... she lives in chelyabinsk... and I remember being dumbfounded and shocked when supporting her through the ordeal... Russians have a women's day (March 8th) but won't even enact social programs for dv victims... that wouldn't fly here in the States 🤔
Всё ок, недавно в России были введены поправки и теперь ведение съемки( в том числе треш стрим ) - является отягчающим обстоятельством )))
There should be a separate charge for victimizing vulnerable people (homeless, addicted, disabled, etc.)
Yes! Like “Hate Crime” legislation! It is even more deplorable to prey on vulnerable victims.
+ Torture should always be added as a separate crime. Coercive Control is now a crime in its own right in the UK.
As understanding of criminal psychology progresses, it should be considered when setting sentencing guidelines. There are crimes that generally reveal a very dark & dangerous psychology eg “flashing”, stalking etc. The experts now know that they can’t treat sexual sadists. If they are always going to be a danger to others, should they ever be released?
Those convicted for owning child pornography (even the very worst) frequently don’t get a custodial sentence. Peeping Toms & flashers rarely get prison time too! Even rapists often only receive a few years or probation.
I know that our prisons are overcrowded but these are VERY dangerous criminals who get-off on instilling shock & fear, controlling & subjugating victims according to their perverted fantasies. A slap on the wrist teaches them that they can get away with these crimes, building their confidence…
There is in the States
There is in the US. Think (insert charge here) -"of a vulnerable person" ie: abuse of the elderly etc. To add tho- sadly in the US- being homeless, addicted, or even mentally ill isnt really....how do I word this... It's looked down on as if it was chosen. We like to think we're "enlightened" and trying to bring awareness to conditions but 9 out of 10 times, people will still pull phones out and record or call the police before trying to help.
I think this comment is very overlooked.
Most definitely
Her death is what it took for his audience to call the police? That's what is considered too far? Great job viewers. My heart goes out to her and her family. I wish she left that jerk a long time ago.
In Russia domestic violence is essentially legal.
It's Russian though ain't it. We have all seen what they are like
it was disgusting. He brought her body in eventually and just arranged her corpse in this bizarre way, like he kept streaming knowing she was deceased basically saying "what should I do guys?" as he went in and out of whining.
It's Russia.

The fact that platforms allow people to make money off of abhorrent behavior is disgusting and shows how far society has fallen.

RUclips got a lot harsher after Logan Paul showed the body of someone in Japan who'd committed suicide
@@schectermeisterDo they? Because they're not wrong... Nearly every culture in human history has had business(es) and/or public events based solely around torturing people or animals. Society hasn't "fallen," humans have always been this way. At least these days it's illegal AND swiftly punished... Authorities as well as online moderation are just garbage at seeking it out.
“What actions pushed this stup*d ticking time bomb over the edge?” 😂 This guy’s voice and accent is so proper, soothing and sophisticated that when he insults the bad guy, I sometimes miss it and have to do a double take or rewind to catch it. He’s the type of person who can cuss you out and you don’t even realized you’ve just been cussed out.
Oh yeah, that's really accurate

yup, that's our Adrian such a smooth gent [and bonus, a cat lover, maybe the perfect man!]

Trash streaming should be banned, in all honesty
Especially with the idiots on TikTok doing crimes and calling it pranks
In technicality it is. Most TOSs prohibit such things. However with that being said, most platforms don't actually use their own TOS in the way they tend to say they are.
And who decides what is deemed "trash"?
@@rationalbacon5872I think we can all agree. This is trash.

We unfortunately live in a very sick and depraved world.
Yes most definitely it’s a disgrace absolutely terrifying. What’s allowed to go on now?
People with dark tendencies will engage or request these acts.
Asking is not a crime. It’s not incitement either. Acting is a crime.
@@Sniperboy5551the money is the incitement
Every single one of the audience members who watched without calling the cops should be charged as accomplices. Hell, the person who sent the donation should be charged with manslaughter since they made the order.
It wasn't an 'order' like a demand. It was an offer. I pay you this much if you do this. He had a choice. And he chose the offer. The whole thing shouldn't even be allowed anyway but those viewers were not the ones doing the deed so they cannot be charged. I wish they could be but it won't happen.
@@Yosetime Quibbling semantics. That chatter knew the moment he posted that donation that he would do what was asked of him, because that was the consistent pattern of behavior up until that point. There was no reason to suspect he would refuse. Ergo, it was tantamount to an order.
quite right.. those viewers and that one person who offer the money should be held responsible.
Thank u for the video! I would like to add few additional facts about Valya:
She had a very difficult family situation. Before leaving her village she was taking care of her mother and her sick grandma. Both of them died. Her father was absent, so she basically did not have any support system. She had few friends in Moscow ( mostly girls from escort agencies) and I guess she was pretty lonely. Im not surprised that this sociopathic monster targeted vulnerable and lonely girl.
... Killing your girlfriend for about a thousand or so dollars and fame?
There's pathetic, and then there's *THAT.* I gotta see how this story plays out... Loving the content, Adrian!

I remember hearing about this case when it occurred, and was floored by the casual cruelty of it all. The life of your partner should never be for sale, but the pittance that cost Valentina her life makes it all the more tragic.
you think he killed her on purpose, are you dumb? he wanted her to endure the cold and didnt think it would be that bad.. why he didnt let her in you might ask? well watch women in the military and youll see why he didnt take it seriously. and yes he did love her, but you dont get how it is to live in poverty with no prospects
That poor girl needed people who cared for her and who wanted to help her. Instead she ended up with an insecure sadist who cared more about fame and money. Shame on him and every person who encouraged his reprehensible behavior!

This type of thing is concerning. We unfortunately live in a world where people will do anything for attention and money. I hope her family finds peace.
Whats worse, we live in a world where people will pay 1000 dollars to see someone killed.
I saw this video on reddit when it happened. He left her lying there for what felt like an age. It was disgusting. Only once it seemed like he realised the trouble he was in, did he react with any emotion. It was more desperation for his own sake than concern for her. It was awful. He also just... arranged her body in such an odd way while he continued streaming. It was so haunting.
I dont understand how that other woman, who could see and was uncomfortable with the abuse, felt comfortable leaving her there. And the person who spent $1k ti make that request should be investigated and locked up as well.
So YT makes us abbreviate certain words & stay away from certain subjects & yet this fool was abusing people then murdered his “friend”? on the very same YT? Wow. There are some truly stupid people in this world.
It's about control.
How is nothing done about these types of streams?! Not just the people making them or participating in them but the viewers who are making these sick requests?! And how did twitch pick up on this guy and shut it down but RUclips didn't?! So much could of been done to prevent this, that poor girl. I can't even imagine what those last moments of her life would of been like, cold hurt and humiliated outside like that. RIP
Thanks for another great video Adrian, I love your vids and am glad you're getting the success and recognition you deserve
If it's not political, YT will allow it. Unfortunately their algorithms are all aimed at shutting down videos featuring specific content and containing keywords of their choosing.
Those people who asked Stas to harm that poor girl should be also punished, They are sick !😡
This case absolutely disgusts me. He's frickin VILE.
I am of the age that the internet was 'launched' pretty much as I was coming up.
It was heralded as this great equalizer and unifier, a way for people to educate themselves, for people from different cultures to get in touch with each other.
In short, all sorts of optimism.
Who could have guessed...
What about AI? I don't know much about it, but it's concerning 😟
I was groomed on AOL
I remember the good ol days of Windows 95 and Encarta, so innocent.
As usual though it is much more positive than negative but as here the negative is reported on much more. There are amazing medical things done and look how the internet helped get info out of countries like China during Tiananmen Square protests and massacre and Egypt during their revolution. But you are right there's always bad apples and that's why people need to resolve themselves to be decent and compassionate. Make the choice now so you don't have to when confronted with this vile crap.
There was a lot of excitement ♡ but there was also a lot of fear. Lets not forget the internet was invented by the US military..
I think public naivety was in part planned, through negligence and corruption. There were plenty of people warning us to the dangers we are experiencing today but not everyone agreed that those voices should be heard, or were worth taking seriously.
1)Trash streaming should be ILLEGAL!!! I recently saw another case where a group of friends were live streaming themselves and ppl would donate $1 to get one of the guys to drink. His “friends” thought it was hilarious and would pour liquor in a cup (when he was payed to do a shot). Long story short, he died after drinking far more than his body could handle.
2) SIX YEARS FOR KILLING SOMEONE!!! 🤯 I have no words!!! With his lack of empathy and respect for human life he will sadly be the reason another person suffers or dies. What will they do then? Give him probation 😡
My heart aches for her family💔 I pray they are able to find some comfort knowing she is no longer in pain.
Humanity is getting worse and worse. It seems to be a rare trait having critical thinking and being empathic/show sympathy towards others nowdays.
I dont think these degens are a good barometer for society though, especially in Russia.
Frightening and true.
It only seems that way because of social media.
It has always been worse.
But it doesn't really mean that we need excuse to any shits like this.
Especially being an asshat is considered cool these days.
If only people would just normalise being a good person without a favor.😢
Let’s caffeinate while we investigate! Thank you for all you do Adrian!
The fact that no one even threatened to call the police after the first ON SCREEN HIT means everyone in that chat should be accessories for willingly allowing it to continue.
No excuses if you just turned in or were a kid, you see something wrong, you threaten to shut it down and do what you can or you're enabling it as far as I'm concerned.
Domestic violence is legal in Russia so there wouldn't be much point.
the people who were giving him money to go further and further are every single bit as guilty as Stanislaus is.
The person who paid should be arrested too. This is so sad. And just for a few bucks? Power goes to peoples heads
For some reason I find RUclipsrs / Streamers who turn into criminals so fascinating. Watching their earlier content (either because it's still there or through videos like yours) with the knowledge of what they've become will never not be creepy to me.
It’s a bit like seeing OJ in The Naked Gun.
Agreed, it’s always so haunting knowing what they’ve became after those videos, just goes to show how unpredictable the future is.
The dreams of being rich in fast and easy way make some people desperate to do unbelievable things
I know it's nowhere near the same (although it sort of.... is) but look at someone like Nick Avocado. He started off very very level headed, was a vegan food reviewer who was in good shape etc. But then after a while, you could see it was the fame and fortune that started to go to his head. He became more and more unstable as he chased more views, money, fame etc, and almost ate himself to death, happily degrading himself. The power of social media and being an "influencer" 🙄
Just like celebrities, politicians & anyone else who gets a taste of power. Most abuse it in the most disgusting ways or turn the other way while others do to keep their positions & fame. Any long term celebrity still working is 1 of those ppl. The ones who fell off usually had a conscience.
Stas"s viewers/ subscribers are just as guilty as he is😡
In the US (not saying we're any better, just what it would be here), the person who paid to see Valia beat and tossed outside would also be charged with manslaughter, or something similar. You know that this guy will do anything for money and you offer him a very large sum of money to do something that a reasonable person could expect would end in death, then you are guilty of the crime, too.
And it is like the person is vicariously doing that to the victim themselves. Guess that is why they get off on it.
@@changeintheair9648 It's sick and twisted. I don't understand it.
Russian law is awful, that's why
In Russia you get a harsher prison sentence for speaking out against the state than actual murder.
Yep unfortunately

A reverse trash stream? Like we pay Adrian to pet Nero and feed him treats and play with him?
You wonder why she stayed with him. But he clearly knew how to manipulate vunerable people. 6 yrs is not enough for the cruelty he proactively planned and participated in.
I use Adrian as ASMR, such a smooth manner of speaking and a blessing that he uses proper grammar. Thank you for always making sure that the victim is presented with dignity.
Thanks as always Adrian! Just here to tell you again we all love ya and you are most appreciated! Give your cat a hug from all of us and I’ll be sipping your coffee while watching this episode!
I still firmly believe people as a whole do not know how to handle the influence and pressure that comes with having a *massive* audience. And even worse, more often than not, that audience can forget there is a human behind that screen.
Internet criminals tend to get off too easy, if you ask me.
Some internet criminals maybe, But people like Edp445, NEVER. People are constantly calling places he worked to get him fired, Other people making videos of him when he's in public while mocking him at the same time, and Trying to keep him off any platform to prevent him from making money so he can die poor. So yeah, Some criminals, but definitely not all of them.

Adrian you called it “trash streaming” that’s exactly what it is. I’m sipping my tea watching. It’s heartbreaking that sad he committed this horrific crime. As soon as he said "trash streaming" I couldn't help but think at all the IRL streamers like Neon, Jack Doherty, etc etc
in Finnish internet culture we call this "rappio striimaus" basically degenerate streaming, people livestreaming themselves drinking copiously and doing stupid shit for money, getting in trouble with the law etc. Its a pretty popular genre too because I guess people want to watch that kind of chaos
You look at insanity like this, and it really is clear why women in similarly misogynistic societies like South Korea have decided to do what they do. What woman would want to be with a man like this? You're quite literally risking your life to be with these types of men, and they make it clear they'll throw your life away for something like a little clout, and a bit of cash! Better to live and die single, then to be with someone who values you so little.
