      The worst part was Checo was actually doing great, was up to what was it 12th? And then they completely screwed him. Just stay on the Hards through the first rain and he'd have gotten into the points from the pit lane start. That's a massive win.

    Carlos is his own team engineer. It baffles me how Charles hasn't started making his own calls. At this point, he's better off guessing without all the data than listening to the team.

      He did make his own calls though. Charles asked for inters, this one isn't on Ferrari other than they should have told him "no that's a stupid idea".

      ​@Razor921 please listen to Charles's radio. He did not ask for inters. He initially said no but then his engineer said that there would be "heavy rain next lap". They made it sound like it would be stupid to stay out. It's just wild the difference in info given between Carlos & Charles on the rain. Ik Carlos asked for the colour on the radar (which was very smart considering its ferrari) but the fact is Charles shouldn't have had to. The engineers job is to provide ACCURATE info. Which they failed at unfortunately

      Honestly, I don't think Charles is that kind of driver. Not all of them are. Charles can execute a plan and be quick, Carlos can plan on the fly even if he's not technically quicker.

      @bananajoe4233 @bananajoe4233 I mean for the first time, because for the last 2 months McLaren has debatably had the fastest car (or second fastest depending on the tracks and conditions).
      I've been a McLaren fan since the Kimi days but the team has never fumbled so many races - or at least lost many positions and points- due to poor decisions as they have this season ever since I started watching F1. And when they did it didn't hurt as much because they weren't fighting for wins every race which they now are.
      And I'm a McLaren fan first, and a Lando fan second. Oscar is one of my favorites as well. And both of them got their fair share of getting screwed.

    I was on Oscar’s onboard the whole race. He didn’t say shit about it on the radio. Nothing. He just got to it. Hannah Schmidt will be a huge free agent when her contract comes up.

      Oscar is so cold that he shows no sign of being one of drivers on the grid with the least amount of racing experience, on raw pace and tire management he's behind Lando, but he shows tons of potential with how much progress he made with just one year in F1.

    ferrari has two garages, this "they favoured carlos" is idiotic. Carlos worked with his engineers to study all possibilities of rain tires during fp practice and they constructed a code based of colours and inches of rain per square metre.

      A driver's call comes down to his feeling in the car corroborated with the information he gets from the pitwall. The two drivers were fed completely different information. Told Charles there would be heavy rain starting in the next lap, when really it came 8 laps later. Carlos was told there would be chance of rain in S3.
      That's it.

      Oscar is the most ice cold driver on the grid right now. Nothing seems to ever get to him. When asked about the tyres he just said "mediums are better", no bullshit. Maybe the way Will asked Lando threw him off, but it was clear he was far too rattled and indecisive.

      Last year the red bull was such a superior car as compared to the rest of the grid
      Yes max did great as he always does
      But he literally had time enough to pit and go for fastest lap in some races
      Now the field is all bunched up
      And McLaren are losing cause well they are fumbling and the others are game on and closer

    All the the driver in the top 4 teams(except lewis ironically)got a taste of what its like to be a ferrari driver
    Verstappen - No real pace for no reason
    Perez - Gets put on inters after about 6 drops of rain
    Norris - Strategic error cost him the win
    Piastri - Gets left out so teammate can pit and loses 20 seconds in a lap
    Sainz - No real pace for no reason
    Lepain - PAIN
    Russell - Engine failure while being in a winning position

    Go read the transcript between Carlos-Adami vs Leclerc-Bozzi. Carlos & Adami used COLOUR CODE SYSTEM to express the differing weather conditions so that its clearer for Carlos on race day.. so who is the pair that is unclear in communication & never do its homework 😂😂😂

    Landos first win
    Charles win at Monaco
    Lewis win at Silverstone

    The race really shows the difference between a champion-caliber team and a regular team in terms of quick-thinking and adaptation on ever changing condition. Having a good car and driver combination aren't the only factor to win races.

    McLaren need to move heaven and earth to poach Hannah Schmidt from RBR. The only reason Max was on the podium was because they nailed absolutely every single strategy call cos they were way off the pace most of the race apart from the last stint.

      And reason they weren't off pace the last stint is because of the strategist who put him on new hard tyres, instead of used softs. Otherwise Piastri was hilariously faster than Max on the mediums. And its all after the new Redbull upgrades. They really need to get their sh*t together otherwise they have a real threat

    I guess this also shows how good Max is. Like he is 2nd with 3rd best car. Actually, the car may even be worse (look at Perez) but he is just cruising along to 2nd. Ofc the team strategy is spot on as well!

      3rd best car at Silverstone, certainly. Other tracks, they may be better. But take Perez out of the equation and put him in a gravel trap. He is obsolete right now. I’m sorry but, that’s how poorly he is driving right now. This is the worst I’ve ever seen from him.

      @@dubsessed9790his new contract might add a performance clause effective immediately because theres no way perez wasnt fired for 2023 IF there was an exit clause but very likely this contract does have one in effect right now. it would be comically stupid for red bull to not put that clause in given mid season slumps

    10:13 lol the fans in this pic have jerseys of my hometown ice hockey team, the Colorado Avalanche during the 2016-17 season. It was an absolutely abysmal season to live through, but ultimately helped the team win the Stanley Cup in 2022. Cheer up Matt, better times ahead!

    New fans need to realise, and I hope they do after this season, that F1 isn’t a sport just about its championship. It’s a season of individual races, where heroes can be crowned from a single performance. For that reason this season is a BANGER.

    Leclerc was no where near catching the cars ahead after passing stroll. You need to watch the race properly. He was falling way behind at one point 9sec behind. And he wanted to come in. He made the call.

      He literally doesn't challenge any of the teams decisions. Accepts all decisions like a rookie afraid of losing his seat and then sulks. What disappointment? He is the disappointment. Defacto #1 driver, no threat of losing his seat yet doesn't have a spine or judgement to dictate terms to the team. Contrast that to Sainz who takes matters into his own hands, clearly tells the team he disagrees with their call and tells them what he wants and he has won races. All champions have a ruthless streak to them and leadership qualities, all which Leclerc lacks severely.

    Why did Ferrari pit Leclerc? Because he was struggling on his slick tires. The gap between Sainz and Leclerc went, after the rain started from +6 to +12 seconds. In this condition I understand Ferrari's decision.

    There needs to be a discussion on how Mclaren have screwed Oscar multiple times now since he's joined the team when it comes to pitting.....if it was any other team such as Red Bull, Ferrari or Mercedes, this would be made a bigger deal at this point....Silverstone wasn't even the 2nd or 3rd time, just the most eye opening since he was fighting for a win.

    I think I've never been so puzzled and disappointed at McLaren strategy. Oscar was driving a hell of a race... And in my opinion he was on for the win this time.

    The gap between sainz and leclerc widened from 4 seconds to 13 when it started raining. So the call was his. He was struggling and yet again accepted what the team offered to him. Leclerc was at fault.

Mercedes actually called lewis to box but he rejected. So leclerc could have done the same. He was just struggling and accepted. Thats it. As always he blamed the team.

      Bro he was driving on the track that was already wet and STRUGGLING. His engineer told him that the rain would increase in 3 laps after he got inters. He couldnt hold his car on wet track with slick tyres. How come they convinced their golden boy and not their second driver sainz? He should have handled the situation better like others did. But he couldnt. Thats it.

    In my opinion, Mercedes is the only proper Raceteam at the moment. It's the only team which has a decent car, makes solid strategy calls and also has two drivers which they can use in a race.
    Next season could be even more fantastic when McLaren/Ferrari steps up their game strategywise and the top 4 are level on pace.
    If Red Bull gets an actual second driver it would be also exiting for the manifacutar Championship.
    2012 all over again would be a dream.

    Imo mclaren has shown multiple times now that they aren't ready to make the right calls themselfs. They always wait. Back in Barcelona they also waited too long.
    They need to have a pro-active mentality when it comes to strategy. Yet again they waited too long in multiple instances during this weekends race. So for me this isn't something new and actually already reoccuring.
    I counted like 4+ strategic mistakes. Which is just a joke. If they want to compete, they need to fix this asap. Again they had the fastest car and do not win...
