I followed your instruction and my multimeter is reading 14 ohms. Checking out the Pentair manual I believe I just need to replace the thermistor. Would that be correct?
Great video by the way. So helpful!

Thanks for the wonderfully educational videos sir. I have a quick question for you if you have the time and inclination to respond.
I have this exact same Pentair Master Temp 400 heater, and its been a great little heater with very few issues, but recently its been firing up like normal, running for awhile, then shutting itself down. Red service light comes on, and locks you out of manually using the touch pad to shut it off. So I opened it up and saw the error code was the gas shutoff switch. So I replaced that switch and It seemed to work properly again for awhile, but can't really be certain it was the new switch, because the heater would actually have good days some times anyway.. Would you by any chance know what i could examine next to track down this issue? Frustrating as hell! Any replies would be appreciated.

Did you figure out your issue?

@@denisgiroux871 i did, it was the motherboard....apparently a glitch that just kept shutting it down... thats usually the problem on these things.... i'm on my 3rd one in 8 years... good little heater, but its a good idea to keep it covered when it rains.... even though its sealed, it somehow still manages to get wet, and can short out circuits pretty easily

Hey Craig, i have this same water heater and it just started acting up, getting E01 error, however, I replaced the temp sensor with the part you suggested in this video and I'm still getting E01 error. I put a ohm meter on it and is reading about 9.5k as you suggest it should, funny, the old is too. Have any advice?
